Really hoping it's something new. I don't think Raging Blast was bad, but I just want a different game with a different fighting system at this point.

This. But an actual fighting game not another crapware like One Piece: Pirate Warriors which is Dynasty Warriors with One Piece skins.Super Saiyan Turlast x4 wrote:Really hoping it's something new. Either with one of these fighting gameplay styles:
A) Street Fighter (Dimps)
B) Dragonball: Zenkai Battle Royale (?)
C) Dead or Alive (Team Ninja)
D) Injustice: Gods Among Us (NetherRealm)
I'd honestly love a DB game with SF gameplay, that would pump up Dragon Ball by gaining the attention of gamers everywhere because we've always been stuck to the same two styles Budokai and Tenkaichi/Raging Blast (Ultimate Tenkaichi doesn't really count). Budokai was great but it's time to move on.

Or Dragon Ball Z Sagas 2....
Just kiddin. But yeah, definitely a genuine fighting game. I really liked the battle system for Super Dragon Ball Z, but I doubt we'll ever get a sequel for that. I'd like to see another 2D DBZ fighting game someday.

Re: Bandai planning to "conquer the world"?
I don't mind a sequel to DBZ Saga. It was one of my favorite DBZ games. It was the first DBZ game to feature RPG in 3D. I really enjoyed it just as much as I do with Legacy of Goku series. The only problem the game has is that the gameplay and story mode don't have enough depth. They should have also added character interactions, much like Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm or Bond. Combine that with Budokai Tenkaichi and Namco Bandai will be winner.
Man, why couldn't Namco Bandai make this kind of game....? Trust me, they will make a lot of money off of this.

Sagas bombed big time. Pretty much everyone hated it which is why a sequel is never going to happen.

Lol no. None of these characters have anything close to moon busting powers let alone massive planet to star busting capabilities. Even their weird ass techniques like the multiple levels of the Sharingan wouldn't do them any good. Hell if worst comes to worst, Freeza, Cell, or Buu could just blow up the planet. However Goku from the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai would stomp any Naruto character.JulieYBM wrote:...in which Kakashi, Tobi, and Madara kick the shit out of anyone in Dragon Ball.TheMightyOzaru wrote:I've always had a problem with Dragon Ball characters ending up in games where they would just slaughter the competition. By the looks of it, it was still more playable than DBZ Taiketsu and DBZ Ultimate Tenkaichi so not entirely broken.TheMightyOzaru wrote:Defending Sagas? If so, why? It was a broken mess of a game.

Re: Bandai planning to "conquer the world"?
Sagas may have been a bad game in the end, but one idea was good: making an adventure/RPG game.
A franchise that has a full encyclopedia of contents would be a good candidate to be an RPG. But then, there's the action side of battles.
So in the end, it would have to be an "action RPG" filled with lots of contents and extra quests on top of the basic, great and long scenario. The Dragon Ball equivalent to the Kingdom Hearts series.
But the thing is, not every developer can make a good RPG. Even developers that are used to making good RPGs can make bad RPGs sometimes, a good RPG is something tough to develop.
So I understand why they won't go that road, but I'm just saying: if the right developer got a hold of it, there's enough content in the Dragon Ball franchise (manga, anime, movies...) to make a huge, fascinating RPG with tons of extra quests (all movies could be extra quests for example, with Dr. Uiro's palace in the ice lands, Paragus' palace on another planet, etc...).
And absolutely zero online interaction, we're talking "real" solo RPGs here!

Re: Bandai planning to "conquer the world"?
Cold Skin pretty much sums it up: the ideas were excellent, but the execution was poor. If they had developed it properly, the game wouldn't be in mess.
Actually they should listen to us. Many fans' ideas were very fanscinating, but Bandai never used them. Bandai can't make great games by themselves. Just look at BT and RB series. They were making same thing for 5 straight years. And UT is a pile of garbage. They really don't know how to make good games, and their executions were terrible. I might as well buy the original Budoaki Tenakichi and I wouldn't be missed out the rest. That's how bad Bandai is.Colonel Silver wrote:This is why Bandai shouldn't listen to any of us! Re: Bandai planning to "conquer the world"?
I'm about to bust a blood vessel here. UT's drastic changes happened because of people's "fanscinating" ideas. Considering how RB2 turned out and most of the fighting games before it, I'd say Bandai knows how to make a pretty good game actually. The mechanics for RB2 just needed balancing not an overhaul. They don't need to listen to anything other than balance changes because that actually breaks the game. Fan expectation is too high, fans want too much and some of the things they request are just straight up stupid. Bandai needs to stick their guns and do their own thing.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:Actually they should listen to us. Many fans' ideas were very fanscinating, but Bandai never used them. Re: Bandai planning to "conquer the world"?
Tobi's intangible (this applies to most of the Bleach cast, too), Madara is currently dead and Kakashi can teleport things to a different dimension never to be heard from again. This is to say nothing of the mind control arts they have. No character in Dragon Ball could deal with that based on everything insofar stated regarding their abilities because they've never faced those sorts of powers. I wouldn't have made the comment if I wasn't right.TheMightyOzaru wrote:Lol no. Re: Bandai planning to "conquer the world"?
No, people had a good reason why they hated the game.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:They are too picky about games.
1) The graphics are terrible. The backgrounds look dull, the character mouths don't even move and the game looks very dated since the game looked a Dreamcast game.
2) The game has no reply value since the game can be finished in three or four hours. The bonus characters like Bardock and Broli are hardly worth playing.
3) Gameplay is simple, repetitive, and boring
4) The game has so many bugs and glitches that makes it almost unplayable sometimes
5) The game was marketed as a free roam when you can hardly do anything when you invisible walls blocking you from playing round.
Sagas was only made just to milk on the license. The game was so bad that the game didn't get released outside of the US knowing that Bandai won't waste time releasing it in Japan and EU. Making a sequel to Sagas is like making a sequel to Battlefield Earth. No one would buy it.
Even if they did, they won't make a sequel. They care about money and Sagas sold poorly. In a marketing stand point of view, why bother making a sequel to a game that didn't do that well in the first place? The same reason why there will never be a RB3 no matter how hard you wish for it.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote: Actually they should listen to us.

Re: Bandai planning to "conquer the world"?
If Namco Bandai is using Nostal's fanidea for their next game, I'll be so damned disappointed because the game (RB3) will hardly be any different from RB2 with additional features and characters.
How hard can it be to make a Dragon Ball game with Street Fighter gameplay, on PC there's been mods of it already: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qywzXUP8hXU pretty sweet, wish this would work on consoles too.
So tired of Raging Blast / Tenkaichi and Budokai games, there needs to be a new fighting game-style for Dragon Ball!

If it anit broke don't fix it, and Budokai 3 and Tenkaichi 3 anit broke. A Street fighter like DBZ would be way to restricting for a DBZ game, yes DBZ is a fighter but it's also a DBZ game.
Tenkachi gave the freedom of a DBZ fighter while Budokai was a great great fighting game.
I've already said before I would like a game where it would be Burst limit/Budokai on the ground and in the air and far away the game would fight like Tenkaichi 3.

Re: Bandai planning to "conquer the world"?
Dragon Ball gaming needs to evolve and sticking to the only two series which are Budokai and Tenkaichi isn't evolving, Namco Bandai needs to expand the franchise to better fighting games and better developers who'll take proper care of it.
Dimps is the developer of Street Fighter games but so far there hasn't been one SFxDB (or just DB with SF gameplay) game so it'll probably never happen, sadly.
