Not nearly enough. It's just a poorly-chosen approach to the character. It makes me long for David Kaye's flimsy Stallone impression.
Also, I hope they recast the older Dende. I love Cook, but he was the wrong choice for that role. I'm thinking either Jason Liebrecht or Michael Sinterniklaas.

Now hopefully they will announce Chris Sabat as Piccolo again, keep Hercule, Kyle Herbert as Gohan, the Old Bulma back...let's see what else, Keep Babidi and all the Boos but Fat Boo...hmmm OH! Get the old Number 18 back...And redub all of Gohan's lines from the previous episodes!
I couldn't stand Colleen Clinkenbeard making Gohan sound so lame in the Cell Saga, at least when Stephanie Nadolny said "Daddy" every other word and Gohan was way too old to be saying that he still sounded like a dude and not a girl desperately trying to resemble the a boy...my word she was terrible completely ruins Kai! Every time I see Gohan I wanna turn the sound off...bleh! She is the sole reason I have yet to buy those DVDs.

Y-you're kidding, right?
You're advocating bringing Tiffany Vollmer back as Bulma?

Vollmer wasn't a good actress, at least not as Bulma and she didn't fit the character. She made her sound like a valley girl. Bulma might be vain but she's not vapid.
The only voice for Buu I enjoyed was Kid Buu. I still don't understand why anyone likes Cook as Super Buu, especially when many of them will say in the same breath that they don't care for him as Dende. At least with Dende his delivery was natural. He tried WAY too hard to sound evil as Super Buu.
The biggest truths aren't original. The truth is ketchup. It's Jim Belushi. Its job isn't to blow our minds. It's to be within reach.

Well, I found that Tiffany Vollmer simply isn't a very good actress. She made Bulma seem overly shrill and a little too "valley girl" for my tastes. She only brought out the worst of the character. Monica Rial is an excellent actress and brings a much-needed humanity to the role that Vollmer didn't. There's more a sense of warmth to her performance.

You know I will give you that in Kai Bulma does actually come off as a genius when she needs to, whereas Tiffany's version it does seem like in those instances it is a fluke. I just liked the over the top theatrics of her voice acting, granted Kai is more refined so such antics would be a bit much.

Nadolny's Gohan sounded like anything but an "actual boy" (to me, little boys and girls sound very similar, and it's not without reason). She sounded like she was pinching her throat or something to make that voice. Clinkenbeard isn't perfect (I think in terms of voice, Saffron Henderson's Gohan sounded most like a little boy, but Clinkenbeard is close), but her performance was so much better and well delivered.
I find it highly suspicious that when Clinkenbeard was revealed as FUNi's Luffy, lots of people thought he sounded like Gohan. When Clinkenbeard was revealed as Gohan, lots of people say "this sounds nothing like Gohan! I want the old voice back! This new one sounds like a little girl! Her voice is so annoying!" Yet, I've never seen such comments directed to her performance as Luffy, which has a very similar voice to her Gohan during the Cell Games.
Not that I'm suggesting that you fit that mold or anything. It's simply an observation I've made.

It's way different. In Z it was really high pitched and cartoony, but here it's at a relatively normal tone and is just a straight up, somewhat (and fittingly) monotone performance.

And once again we come to original FUNi voices versus Kai voices...the struggle is eternal apparently.
Super Sonic wrote:Speaking of Mr. Martin, would you say you prefer his Fat Buu or his Kid Buu voice?
Hmm...even though I don't really have a problem with his Fat Boo, I would say that I preferred his work as Kid Boo, yeah. Then again, I actually enjoy Kid Boo quite a bit more than most people seem to, so there's that too I suppose.
As far as people coming back for the Boo arc goes, I think I already said it earlier, but the main people I'm really clamoring to have back are Kara Edwards as Goten and Videl, Laura Bailey as Trunks, and Duncan Brannan as Babidi. Everyone else that comes into this arc, I can more or less go either way with.

I'm pretty sure Kara Edwards and Laura Bailey will be back. Kara still lives in Dallas and has had several recent roles, and Laura, of course, had a thirty-second stint as Vegeta during Goku's hallucinations in Kai.

A and B, I'd rather see the old FUNimation cast RE-DUB Dragon Ball Z Kai if my sense doesn't feel right.

Colleen's performance is one of the reasons I actually watched Z Kai to begin with. I didn't like Stephanie whatsoever and Saffron was OK, but Colleen just fit the role perfectly to me. And I didn't really care that it sounded like Luffy.

I love Clickenbeard for young Gohan, but I think I prefer Nadonly's for Teen (Perhaps with a bit less rasp).

I thought Clinkenbeard fit perfectly even during the Cell Games. Gohan's still a prepubescent boy at the age of 10, so it makes sense that his voice wouldn't have dropped considerably just yet. Not to mention Colleen did lower her voice to something closer to her own natural speaking voice. You can hear a little Erza/Hawkeye during certain scenes.

I wish people would stop referring to Cell Games-era Gohan as "teen". He's 11 at the most. Whoever's voicing him is doing an 11 year old. Goku is older the first time we ever see him in DB and has an even more childish-sounding voice. The first time we see Gohan as a teenager it's in the Buu arc.
One of the things I like about Clinkenbeard's Gohan is that it evolves over time. It becomes older.
