So when does the censor usually start to come in for the manga? I'm asking this because I think those planing on buying the Dragon Ball mangas should look at the manga for any possible censors (like Mr. Satan changed to Hercule or Bulma's boobs) made to see whenever or not Viz is true to their words about the story being uncensored.

Good, that means if Viz is lying, we'll be able to tell pretty quickly (and it'll give me a good excuse to wait out until I learn sufficient Japanese to buy the Dragon Ball manga).

Is there a place for a list of censors on the Dragon Ball manga? Just want to be familiar with them.

Probably not. And if we do, it will be years from now (because there are already 3 releases of Dragon Ball being sold: Vizbigs, redular edition and 3-in-1s).

In this new run, it's all going to be 'Dragon Ball' instead of splitting it into 'DB' and 'DBZ' like they usually do, yeah.

I still think this is more for their own benefit rather than 'correcting' anything, honestly though. If they left it as two series, then they'd have trouble figuring out what to do at the 'end' of both. 'Dragon Ball' as they did it before was 16 volumes, 'Dragon Ball Z' was 26 - neither of those numbers are divisible by 3, a problem they already ran into with the VizBigs. The VizBigs however are just normally three-in-one, and could be altered to be four-in-one or two-in-one to accomplish the odd numbering issues, which they did. These three-in-ones however are actually called as such, so they can't really fudge the number of volumes per omnibus like they did before. Putting it all back together as just Dragon Ball, a 42 volume series, makes it a lot easier on them, since 42 is divisible by three - meaning we should be getting 14 of these things.

Long story short, they're most likely doing it just to make it less of a headache on themselves, considering how much simpler it is to do it this way now.

If they're re-stitching the two series together then I'm pretty much definitely getting these, if not to replace my tankibons then to have alongside them.

It's kind of doubtful from what we've seen from their release of the Full Color version of the manga... the only change Viz has mentioned is that the release will be uncensored visually, so... as for a more accurate translation... that has yet to be determined.

I'm really curious to see what is printed in this FCBD issue. Will it be the first chapter? The solicitation makes it sound like it might be. If so, will it be partially in color? They say that the 3-in-1's art isn't going to be edited, right? Chapter 1 features some material that has gotten DB in trouble in the past.... The focus tends to be younger readers for FCBD, but that new Kenshin manga is pretty violent, so maybe this one will be categorized as "Teen" or whatever.

If they had time to censor Popo's lips for the digital in-color editions, I somehow doubt they won't continue to censor these. Twitter accounts can and do lie.

That tweet also mentioned Goku's junk and the violence as two examples of it being uncensored, but those things already went uncensored in previous releases so I wouldn't put much stock in it.

Yep, the point is for you to go and get free comics so that you will go back to the shop (hopefully regularly) and buy non-free things. I'd also recommend hanging around the store for a while, try and chat to people or the staff. Really throw yourself in.

Yeah, yeah, bumping. Just thought you'd all like to know that the FCBD issue is the chapter where Kuririn and Goku go searching for the rock with the Kame character on it. Didn't see any differences in art or dialogue to the previous releases, which I why they would have chosen this chapter I think.
