I wonder if Goku and the others will be send down to Earth for a day in this special?

Well, that was a little more brutal than I was expecting to see there.

Yeesh. We got the gist of what happened to that family from the practically-traced shot in the last comic. We didn't need to see a close-up.

That's just poor taste right there.

There was no reason to show that up close. It sort of compromises the Toriyama feel of this series.

How is Gohan going to win this alone? I can see him beating Pui-Pui and assuming Yakon isn't there how will he beat Dabura?

I'm sorry, but, is this really necessary? Such graphical murder scenes? Yes, in manga/anime we had 5 year old with broken spine, but, he still was a fighter, not helpless child.

The brutality of the scene aside, I am liking the art so far, so there's that too I guess.

Aaaaand it already feels like one of those "special" chapters where everyone good dies.
Even if Gohan goes Super Saiyan 2 and wins without Boo showing up, this page was kinda uncalled for.

Meh, we've seen Freeza get cut in half and we've seen Goku get shot through the chest. I don't see how innocence changes the gruesomeness of this scene by a factor of 10. Yeah it wasn't necessary but this is being blown out of proportion. Especially when you consider the scene where Babidi blew up a Budokai attendant's head.

Gotta agree. And what's with the woman's huge boobs? That's out of place AND really in poor taste. :wtf:

Salagir will wank Gohan, disregarding canon in the process. Just like with King Cold and Broly.

This might've worked had it been set after Trunks returned and consisted of an incredibly bloody and difficult struggle where Trunks got really lucky. But now? There's no way for Gohan to survive this without it seeming like a total ass pull.

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke
Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

I feel the same way. Fortunately I can't see any way of this being a massacre special, since there are no Z fighters left to brutalize except for ones who need to survive. :P

Those boobs are not huge at all. And what the problem with showing villains being villains again. One problem I have with fiction now is you find yourself rooting for the villain because he acts more like an anti hero. We need villains to do things that make us hate them.

The sight of women and children being brutally massacred is much more unsettling than a space alien being done in the same way. Toriyama also did gore in better taste.

Those knockers are pretty big.

It's not that the fact they were killed is bother in us, it's just totally inappropriate in a Dragon Ball story. Like Kaboom said, the far away shot in the Boo arc was just enough to convey that message without compromising the tone.

The future is darker than the present and this is a fan manga. AT's presence was left a long time ago.

A fan manga of Dragon Ball, one that touts itself as keeping within DBZ's boundaries. Which it is very much not doing here.

Yeah but as far as I feel they left the Dragonball boundaries a while ago.
