I like Eric Vale as Future Trunks. According to the podcast, Eric Vale's Trunks isn't as "polite" or as "well-spoken" as Takeshi Kusao's Trunks, but he fit the angst and nobility of the character perfectly in my opinion.
No offense, but American Trunks (if that is indeed him?) Always sounded to me like he was choking on his own vomit...

And Vegeta! Good for a start, but darn, what's he meant to be..? Piccolo version 2? I really feel Sabat slacked off after the Namek saga. Vegeta's short, Vegeta's suave, evil, royal and eloquent. *slight twitch* Is his, 'Everyone-can-do-it'-voice ANY of those? (seriously, raise your hand if you CAN'T do a Vegeta-impression.) The guy needs a diet of cough sweets...

He was worst in Cell saga...

Come on, his voice is incredibly easy to do, he's not good at expressing anything other than 'angry' and 'slightly angry', his change of voice is the series is matched by no other voice-actor (bad thing) =/ and it just -does not match Vegeta-
(seriously, go listen to japanese Vegeta, Ocean's Vegeta, Namek-saga Vegeta, French(worstdubintheworld) Vegeta, and those were far, far, -FAR- better.) (sorry, this truely is my BIGGEST pet-peeve of the dub; what they did to the evil, insane, suave prince of all saiyans...)

To Sean Schemmel- he's my favourite western voice-actor! He's shown a wide range, and talent for displaying emotions and multiple noises and tones... so yeah! I'd say he was the best!

I also think ChiChi's vA did a good job... I mean, she's meant to go from sweet to banshee yelling- which she does! Great work! X3

I know Mr. Satan's dub voice in the FUNi version sounds a lot like the original because my little brother (who is more or less a dubbie at this point) heard Japanese Satan's voice and basically said "Wow. It sounds just like the english one."

But my personal favorite is Dameon Clarke as Cell. Voices perfectly suiting in all three forms. I loved his voice so much. Especially kanzentai Cell.

Like his Piccolo I feel Mr. Sabat's Vegeta was much better when he was evil. During the redub, he sounds just perfectly ruthless, especially when he's telling Nappa how they will punish the traitor.

Personally, I felt Sabat did a better voice for Piccolo Daimao than Ma Jr. (who we all know simply as Piccolo in Z).

I dunno why. They sound somewhat similar (since Sabat uses the same damn type of voices for all his characters), but it just sounds better with Daimao than it does his "child."

Out of all the dub voices, the one that sticks out to me as the best has got to be #17.

Whoever voiced him (Chuck Hubert?) really nailed it, in my opinion. The tone, the line delivery... Perfect.

Other than that, I pretty much can't stand the dub. Dende's voice was alright, I guess...

I think the point was to have him sound similar to Piccolo, but more sinister. And not all Sabat's characters sound similar. I know a lot of guys mistook his Kuwabara for Mr. McFarland doing it because of him sounding similar to Yajirobe.

This is why I'm considering grabbing audio-clips of characters voiced by sabat and doing a flash audio-quiz to see if people can tell the difference. Unlike, for instance, Goku and King Kai, you can hear it's the same actor; (somewhat like Goku/Gohan/Goten's va in japanese)

There really was no need for him to do all those voices; apart from his paycheck. For instance, Schemmel did a brilliant Bardock in the Frieza saga and who do we get in the TV-special...? Sabat... he's his own boss. He's gonna' pay himself as much as he can, and won't fire himself for messing up...

He assigned himself to Vegeta (to do his own version of the Ocean Voice) If he couldn't handle keeping the character... canon (afterall, it's meant to be a dub, not a remake) and had to change his voice in such a manner, does that make him a good VA?

I wouldn't hire him for his stability, that's for sure :?

Actually, Sonny Straight plated Bardock in both the clip from the Freeza saga, and the Tv Special. Chris played Kid Vegeta and Nappa in the special o,o

I found it odd they chose him for kid Vegeta. I mean, I know Trunks's male japanese va voices his child self as well, but for some reason with Vegeta it sounds awkward.
On hiatus.

Didn't you know that all 8 year olds are supposed to have scratchy, angsty, deep voices?
Sonny Straight played Bardock
Oh, and on that note (this is actually on topic) I think Sonny Straight did an awesome Bardock. At least, in the Video games he was amazing. I haven't seen the special or that episode in....ages.

*slight twitch* see how bad the voice is? If it's not sabat it sounds so much like his Vegeta that it's hard to tell...

Becursed wrestler-voice stereotype.

I could swear the Frieza saga Bardock voice is, or used to be different to the tv special one, though?

Of course. Just like 24+ year old males are supposed to sound like little girls.

Anyways, I think Mr. Schemmel is the best FUNi voice actor. Damn, that man can scream.

Dameon Clarke was AWESOME as Cell, but, of course, Norio Wakamoto cannot be beaten. On an off-topic note; whoever did Cell's voice in the Ocean Group version kicked Clarke's butt. He actually got the suave point across, so that you got the feeling that if you went too close to him, he'd just look at you and you'd run like Hell. THAT is Cell for me. I actually think he did better than Wakamoto in some aspects.

Chris Rager sounds so much like Daisuke Gori that whenever I try to imagine him speaking, I just hear Gori as Hercule. Actually, when I was viewing the second Ultimate Uncut DVD, I thought it was Dameon Clarke as Enma-Daio. I was shocked when I looked at the credits and saw it was Rager; so he has a good range too.

BUT the greatest dub voice ever is......

Bubbles.

Hmm. Actually, I think it's Sabat that takes care of Bubbles. Schemmel did have a couple conversations with himself, though, as he's responsible for both Goku and King Kai.

The NUMBER ONE Goten fan, and a fucking epic one at that.

This is true. At least he didn't have a scratchy, raspy voice that dub studios seem to think is necessary when it comes to doing voices for children. o_O; While Sabat was on the same level as the original..it just sounded bad with the sort of scratchiness in his normal Vegeta voice as is.
Of course. Just like 24+ year old males are supposed to sound like little girls.
You mean look like girls. :P Apparently anime today has lost the idea that not all men are girly. Hell, not many of 'em are. :s

I always thought Sabat made him sound like a midget with throat cancer. >>
