Somebody
actually thought that there are people on this planet who would be offended by THAT!?
It makes sense actually when you realize WHY they edited it.
Freeza is essentially naked, we never see him with Pants on in his final form. That bump COULD Be interpreted as representing his genital area (Even tho it's clearly just how a humanoid body should be drawn) so it was removed as a better-safe-than-sorry measure so that mothers didn't freak out because a sorta-penis was featured on TV.

I still don't see the real necessity, are there any other examples in TV censoring like this? I mean Freeza is an alien, and he's not exactly Dr. Manhattan naked. I mean they didn't edit out Cell's crotch bulge area...

Actually, they did. Sort of. It's green instead of orange.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Wow, okay, not sure what to say really. This kind of censoring is crazy, I'm glad I was born when I was, TV for kids just is not the same these days.

I liked the change of "We'll start getting the bodies on board" to "This is where we'll find them". This was really more meaningful-sounding. They actually talked as if they were more than just bodies in the edited version.
