It simply isn't an opinion at all, the orange bricks have terrible quality and it's easily noticeable sure the ones who are thrown anything regardless of how shitty the PQ is for them it doesn't matter.
The orange bricks do not have even met the standards to have good quality, at best it's mediocre.
Nope. It's your opinion. And
that's a fact.
I prefer the clear, grainless image and the vibrant colors of the Orange Bricks over the Dragon Box images that I've seen. Just because approximately 0.0000238641% of the series has the lines blurred out in the Orange Bricks does not mean the Orange Bricks have terrible picture quality. The blurred-line argument simply does not hold water. The 2 good arguments against the Orange Bricks are 1.) the image is overly bright/washed out (but that's only for the early sets), and 2.) the cropping.
NOTE: I've heard that the Dragon Box video looks better in person. All I have seen of them are screenshots and trailers.

Guys, I appreciate all of the replies, but I really didn't want this thread to turn into Orange Box Rant Discussion Thread #5068, I just wanted to know if anyone out there knew a way of getting the Faulconer soundtrack onto the Dragon Boxes because in my opinion it is the optimal way of watching DBZ.

Let's compare a VCD to a DVD, which one has better quality? It's DVD. Same goes for Dragon Box, Level Sets & Kai over the Orange Bricks. However, if you think that the orange bricks are somehow better than the Dragon Box, that's entirely your opinion. Though, it's a bit hard to believe but okay.
Even Dragon Ball Kai doesn't have very good picture quality (to watch in HD) but it's still a lot better than the orange bricks.

you can prefer the look but it's obectively worse quality.

Now that's an opinion. You seem to be confused between an opinion and a fact. A fact is when there's an evidence to prove something is true, while an opinion is a person's feeling and his beliefs.
The fact of matter is the orange bricks have the worst picture quality of any Dragon Ball releases. They are so over saturated and bleached. The whites are crushed. Even later bricks was pretty oversaturated. These are facts. Even the first release of Ginyu DVDs back in 1999 was more tolerable than these bricks.
Oh, and by the way, the grains are a part of image. You take them out, you destroy the whole image. That's how 80s animes are supposed to look.

Terrible analogy. It's not even close to the same thing.

No. It's not a fact. You guys don't seem to know the definition of "fact". Do yourselves a favor and buy a dictionary. Better yet, go to a free dictionary online .

Not true.
This release truly has the worst quality of all, even on VHS editions tend to be better and they're on cassette which is inferior to DVD. Well, to be fair anything is better than this piece of garbage.
If you can point out a release with worse quality even more than the orange bricks, then please do.

[sarcasm] Wow, several seconds worth of video looks absolutely dreadful! That obviously means the whole set looks like garbage! You are so right! I should have listened to you all along! [/sarcasm]

Now you are pulling off this card? Seriously, what's with you? Why are you being so stubborn? Have you even watched the entrie orange bricks in 291 episodes in that quality? Like at all? Did you even compare them? Do you seriously believe that they are league above Dragon Box or Level in term of picture quality? Dude, you seriously need to watch again.
The Level sets contained the film previously used for orange bricks. The same film that was used to remaster the footage for terrible bricks. Not even blue or green bricks were that low.

No. That's impossible because all 291 episodes are not "in that quality". ie: horrendous disappearing lines. As I've stated multiple times, only several seconds worth of the show is as horrendous as those first 2 screenshots he posted.
Did you even compare them?
I've only seen screenshots and trailers of the Dragon Boxes, but feel free to send me a Dragon Box so that I can compare them in person to the Orange Bricks.

Do I think the Orange Bricks are a league above the Dragon Box and Level Sets? No. I think the Orange Bricks only look slightly better overall, but the cropping is a negative. So it about evens out, but perhaps I'd still place the Bricks slightly ahead of the others. Only slightly. Barely any at all.

I'm not trying to stick my nose into this debate. But I honestly had to re-read that twice to make sure I didn't misread that.
You're putting the Orange Bricks slightly above the Dragon-boxes and the level sets quality? (Are you Trollin?)

I do agree with you that some people knock the orange bricks a little too hard, but they are a bad release. My opinion? I guess

but looking at comparison shots, it's obvious that the other two releases offer Superior quality.
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

I guess I'll give my 2 cents.
Dragon Box (for hardcore fans, limited availibility) :
Pros : 4:3 screen
Near perfect picture quality (Grain does count as part of the image)
Premium packaging
Very high detail in video quality
Cons :
Does not include Bardock Special (speaking for US DBOXs)
Contrast is sometimes too low
Still has muffled audio (Japanese DBOX and Orange Bricks have same issue)
Orange Bricks (for casual fans, ain't going away any time soon) :
Pros: Cheapest way to own the series
Decent packaging
Faulconer Soundtrack
Picture added to the sides
Cons: Disappearing lines during shaking
Cropped to a faux-16:9 widescreen
Way too much contrast (Seasons 1, (Worst) 2, 3 and 4)
No NEPS
Blurred detail in a attempt to make it "grain-free"

It's the grain that I don't care for. The Dragon Boxes and Level Sets have grain, but the Orange Bricks have little-to-no grain.
Also, I prefer the colors of the Orange Bricks more than the Dragon Box colors. The Dragon Box colors seem too pink/red in the screenshots that I've seen.

I think it's a fake Namek episode. It's when Goku is still recovering, decides to start training again, but realizes he's still too injured to really do anything yet.
