We have to agree to disagree. That amv was bad in my opinion.Kuwabara wrote:Not DBZ, but maybe this video will help you see where I'm coming from. Just as an aside, it's amazing to find a modern AMV that volleys usage of cuts and fades, instead of just having the latter.

Re: DBZ AMV's
I don't know what you are talking about.
A good AMV IMO needs the following criteria:
- Relevant song [Why? Because just any song that sounds cool doesn't make it right. I'm sick and tired of all those rock songs ("Ouuuh cut me and I bleeeed. Crush my soul and drink my scroootum" is not relevant to Dragonball). Often their message doesn't make sense].
- Good editing (as in cutting the clips at the exact right time, at the exact right scene) [This doesn't include using one thousand effects to make sure that you don't need to match clips to each other and giving other seizures].
- Coherence between the clips used and the song {Again, this is probably me repeating myself. But just because of that a song references a fight (often an emotional one) it does not mean that it correlates with the clips and the anime at all).
- A red line in the story you want to tell with the song and the clips [An AMV should tell a story with a beginning and an end to make it interesting. Not just random clips of Vegeta to a rock song about suffering].
- Not too many special effects [Damn, occasional ones may help out, but people, it makes me motion sick watching 10 clips blend into each other in 5 seconds].
The long list that you posted TheGmGoken either made me sick, dissappointed or just plainly bored. And believe me, I suffered through all of them.

A little harsh in places, but I basically agree with all of this.Godo wrote:I don't know what you are talking about.

Re: DBZ AMV's
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNEgSNs1tsQ I think we can both agree this is epic. And fits. It doesn't use a lot of effects and it's one of my favorites. So it's like a combo of what you like and what I like. Specially 1:03. The first part was meh. But the second part is just pure badass ^_^. Also I'm send you the website threw message since I don't think linking to other dbz websites is allowed unless it's for educational purposes.Kuwabara wrote:Show me, I'm dying to see.TheGmGoken wrote:Actually yes =/.
Re: DBZ AMV's
That is a good video, but I meant outside of the AMV spectrum, in things like commercials, promos, film trailers etc. They're generally more conservative in their use of effects and transitions, for good reason. However, I could totally envision a shortened version of that video you just linked being used for a commercial for the show, very professional.

Re: DBZ AMV's
I hate when people make AMV's and don't label them as AMV's when I watch a video online. Also how come there are so many Linkin Park ones?
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
