This forum, though it was one of the previous iterations since this version has been around since only 2004. Not sure when I originally joined, either 2002 or 2003 probably.

What was the old forum like? Are there any pictures of it?

I think that was mine too although I only made a couple of posts. There was also another that focused on the video games I joined around the same time (I was only about 10 or 11) where I got shit on just for asking for screencaps of Boo's Budokai 2 formslash wrote:MFG/ MyFavoriteGames. Fun times.

Re: Your First Dragon Ball Message Board
I've currently been lurking around DBZF, which is a British forum. Very much reminds me of MFG when it was alive and kicking back in the day. I laugh at a lot of the member arguments though, but they have other non-Dragon Ball topics, so it changes it up a bit from here.
I wipe it off the tile, the light is brighter this time, everything is 3D blasphemy.
My eyes are red and gold, the hair is standing straight up, this is not the way I picture me.
I can't control my shakes, how the hell did I get here? Something about this, so very wrong.
I have to laugh out loud, I wish I didn't like this. Is it a dream or a memory?

Re: Your First Dragon Ball Message Board
Hmmm, I vaguely remember it being a darker color scheme (like the background was black, and the text was white?) Then again, I could be confusing it with other forums I may have visited around the same time ^_^;; It may have been hosted on a site called "Animation Insider" or "Anime Insider" or something like that...if my memory is correct at all, that is.Insertclevername wrote:What was the old forum like? TV.com, MFG, and then here.
Obviously, this is easily the greatest Dragon Ball forum I have ever been a part of.

Re: Your First Dragon Ball Message Board
Mine was probably that old Dragon Ball GT TCG site. I'm not sure whether that counts or not.
(Fanfiction link coming soon.)
Re: Your First Dragon Ball Message Board
Just this one (when it was Daizenshuu EX). I guess I was also on the FUNimation forums for a few seconds.
Re: Your First Dragon Ball Message Board
The first one was a Swedish one: Dragonball-se.com forums.
I remember how one of the members went rouge and started another homepage and another forum on db-se.com and war broke out.
Simply the newcomers decision was frowned upon and there was a lot of insults thrown around, and most members sided on the original site's side.
Eventually db-se.com shut down, having very little activity on their site.
I remember that in the Swedish release of the Dragonball manga, they had a reader's corner, and Dragonball-se.com was mentioned there a few times, so the Swedish readers knew them from long before.
Other than that, I was a member on the MFG forums before they had their update and things got all messed up with the accounts. Many of us regulars didn't come back.
Also, the tone and discussions there went down quickly shortly before I left and I never really went back to the MFG forums after that.

Yep, that's where I got my footing too. Daizex was just a few months later, and has overall been a better experience for me.DanTheBib wrote:Well, I remember being on one of the Atari forums back in the day (possibly for Budokai 1).
First forum I remember signing up for properly would be MFG. Some of the guys on there really knew their stuff, and were great...others were, um, not quite at the same level, to be polite.
I still have the scans some guy sent me on how to draw Goku in various forms. I don't remember usernames, but to whoever that was, thank-you!

what ever happened to MFG, I also noticed the former Dragonball-Gt.com that became unrivaled source vanished back in 2009 without a trace
Re: Your First Dragon Ball Message Board
MFG is still exists as a website, sort of. The Forum was gutted a few years back and pieces of the community have stayed connected via FB. The webmasters lost interest eventually. Given that the they started the thing as a hobby (brothers coming from a wealthy New Zealand family), it's a wonder the project didn't fade out sooner.Dangerous_D wrote:lash wrote:MFG/ MyFavoriteGames. Re: Your First Dragon Ball Message Board
FUNimation Forums back in 2006. Back then their one DBZ forum was basically the heart of the whole web site. That was back during the whole orange brick debacle, with the debates and hissy fits about the cropped DVNR'd footage on the sets raging left and right. I was a regular over there for years, but the place isn't nearly as active as it used to be--especially after their new boards launched. Message board activity seems to go downhill when your site has a billion sub-forums for every anime under the sun too.
Anyway, I had an account on the Daizex site a few years ago too. I guess that was my first full-fledged DBZ forum. I think I was Death-T on that one. Only had about a hundred posts or so. Forgot the password to it and just created this new one. I've been lurking mostly.

Re: Your First Dragon Ball Message Board
This is my first DB forum. I was lurking around here for ages, but finally decided to join just a little while ago. In fact I'm only on one other forum in general.
