Re: Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission for 3DS
Well, graphics is shitty, but this is probably most complete game roster-wise and most original gameplay wise....
I have a feeling that lot of people having negative feelings towards it are pissed off, after what we westerners got in last years on curren-gen and now Japanese actually got port of succesfull arcade (sans the visual, Nintendo really is horrible visually in last decade, PSP is still looking better than 3DS and it's one generation gap).¨
And I fuckin' envy them!

Thing is... Whilst the roster might be comprehensive, this isn't really a fighting game, thus the term doesn't really apply. It's all fine and all, people are obviously entitled to like it but it is not a fighting game at all.
Again, all you do is wiggle your card and shit happens on the screen, that is not how a fighting game works. I'm not even sure in what classification this game falls into.
And I strongly disagree with you on the visuals. I suppose PSP might look better, I never compared the two of them. But looking at Ocarina of Time 3D? That shit looks beautiful. There is no excuse for this game to look like vomit, the graphics are really sloppy.

Haha, yeah, ironically, Nintendo's own games are looking brilliant on every system. I allready mentioned, how Pokémon Stadium 2 looked almost like PS2 on N64, comparing it to the best PS1 graphics, but what we see in this game is inexcusable, when the arcade actually has PS2 graphics and I will anticipate better or at least the same graphics on 3DS, when PSP have worse PS1-PS2 graphics and Vita is like PS3.DNA wrote:Thing is... Yeah, not a fighting game, but who cares about fighting games, as the PS2 era was actually levels above PS3 era in terms of fan-service and features.
Last good fighter with good roster was RB2 for me, with laughable modes and one 20 minute special recycled from 90's OAV feature.

Well... I care about fighting games. I would like to have an at least decent fighting game. What I'm starting to not care about are huge rosters actually. But I digress. The point I'm trying to make is that the term roster does not apply to this game, or at least is not completely accurate, since the game does not belong to the fighting genre.

Yeah, matters on point of view. I have actually nostalgia going on here, as I was playing those card bassed Dragon Ball RPG's a lot as a kid on SNES (emulator of course).DNA wrote:Well... I don't know what to say Nightstar1994. This is at least the second time where we've butted heads and you've come out showing a lot of immaturity. At no point do you attempt to argue against the facts in my opinion, but rather you're concerned in attempting to discredit my opinion as a whole. Frankly, I'm not sure why. I own a 3DS, and own a variety of Dragon Ball games on Nintendo platforms:

(I own more Nintendo Dragon Ball games, but that's just what I had in my desk)
Yes, it's a North American 3DS, but as I live in Canada, and don't understand Japanese that makes sense. There would be little reason for me to own hardware that only plays games in a language I don't understand ...
I continually criticize the visuals, and the performance of this game because I believe those involved can do better. At its' core, Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission is a port of an arcade game, an arcade game that pilfers content, and runs on a visual engine that debuted in 2003 on the PS2. That was ten years ago, and this port is struggling. Not only are the character models simplified compared to their PS2 appearance, and lack any form of anti-aliasing, but based on the footage of the game it's got severe frame rate problems. Frame rate problems with a trading card game. Jeeze. It's not a hardware thing either, the 3DS should be able to deliver this. You mentioned that this is the first Dragon Ball game on 3DS, and that is true, but you've seemingly forgotten that this is a 2013 release, not a launch title in 2011.
The reason I harp on the visuals instead of the game play is fairly simple, what I've seen looks rather basic. I don't know if that's just me not understanding how the game is played, so I won't judge it too much. However, I can understand visuals, and frame rates.
This looks like a hastily put together release to coincide with Battle of Gods and nothing more. None of the previous Data Carddass games were ported to a home console before, and I can see why. Dragon Ball deserves better than this. This is a franchise that has sold millions of games, from a mult-billion dollar global corporation. They can deliver better than this, and as fans we should be asking for the best, not the rest. You'll notice I'm consistent with this opinion. I don't want Spike Chunsoft (who've never made a Dragon Ball game for a Nintendo platform, but wait I thought I only hated Dragon Ball games on Nintendo hardware?!) making another game in this franchise because they've shown themselves to be incompetent, and as a fan I put my money where my mouth is and don't buy subpar releases. Those encourage Namco Bandai to release more.

Re: Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission for 3DS
Yeah, as Super Saiyan Prime stated, this game does not look competently put together. I'm not really impressed by this game. At all. There really is not reason for this game to look and run this terrible. It has extremely simplistic game play with what I can gather is mostly comprised of scripted animation and stock moves?
It actually saddens me that a game of this caliber starts raking in the money since it sends a message to Namco Bandai that these inferior products actually make profit. I mean from their prospective, why fund developers more money and allow them more time when you can do both of those way less and make just as good a profit (and possibly more)?

Re: Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission for 3DS
God, it's Nintendo, it's gameplay and fun before visuals..... Joking
But I can't do otherwise than agree, this really looks like hell of effort put into the game, as I saw actual footage of the arcade, which despite the PS2 models looks visually great and smooth
and then I saw footage of this. But I don't know..... Hell, just remembered my copy of Force Unleashed on PSP, which was visually almost like it's PS2 counterpart, but God, it was laggy and loading in-between parts of level.

Anyone knows where can I still buy the limited edition of this game? I've missed Play-Asia's pre-orders.

The LaLaBit Edition? http://www.nippon-yasan.com/lang-en/jap ... ition.htmlalakazam^ wrote:Anyone knows where can I still buy the limited edition of this game? I've missed Play-Asia's pre-orders.
I've ordered from that site before, so I know they're legit. I'm not sure that Limited Edition is worth $90 though.

Yes, that one. It probably doesn't get much cheaper anywhere else. Thanks!Super Saiyan Prime wrote:The LaLaBit Edition? http://www.nippon-yasan.com/lang-en/jap ... ition.htmlalakazam^ wrote:Anyone knows where can I still buy the limited edition of this game? I've missed Play-Asia's pre-orders.

I can't stop laughing. Last week Dragon Ball Heroes Ultimate Mission totally went off the Media Create charts, but this week...
05./27. [3DS] Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission <TBL> (Bandai Namco Games) {2013.02.28} (¥5.800) - 15.094 / 177.157
5th spot. Hell yes!

This game is meh
Coming from the guy who recorded the footage.
The fact that it stops at GM4 is a slap to the face.

Re: Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission for 3DS
What's the difference between Perfect, Super Dragon Perfect (I'm guessing this is when we have a Dragon Ball) and Miracle Perfect? And why is it the "Change" gauge sometimes fills up completely and other times, no matter how hard we follow the instructions, it doesn't seem to fill all the way up?
Re: Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission for 3DS
I've had this once almost perfected, but after taking a week-long break i forgot how it was. I think i used to move the stylus slowly at first, and when it's at 1 second i've speeded up and it worked.alakazam^ wrote:And why is it the "Change" gauge sometimes fills up completely and other times, no matter how hard we follow the instructions, it doesn't seem to fill all the way up?
Re: Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission for 3DS
Thanks! I'll try it later.
As many of you might know, there are QR code unlockable missions. I've managed to unlock several of them searching for videos or images of the codes. I won't post any links here because I'm not sure it could bypass the "no illegal stuff" rule but it's somewhat easy to come accross them. How many have you unlocked? I think it might be a good idea to catalogue each one that has been released. All of the missions I've unlocked are Beers and Saiyan God related. Beers alone; Whis alone; Beers and Whis; Beers, Whis and Freeza; Freeza, Cell, Boo and Beers; Base Goku, SSJ1, SSJ2, SSJ3, God and several difficulties.
I think there's one code that unlocks several Super Saiyan cards but the ones I've seen I couldn't scan with the scouter. Am I missing any QR code?
EDIT: I've now been able to scan that last QR code, which gives Super Saiyan Son Family (Bardock included) and SSJ3 Fusions. I've found another code that unlocks other Super Saiyan cards and a Freeza one (with Chilled in the picture).
Ultimate Missions I've unlocked (bottom part):
Super Boss Beers -> Super Boss Whis -> Super Bosses SSJG & Beers -> Super Bosses SSJ2 Goku, Goku, GOD Goku, SSJ Goku, SSJ3 Goku -> blank -> blank -> blank -> blank -> Super Bosses Beers & Whis -> Super Boss God Goku -> Super Bosses Beers, Whis, 1st form Freeza -> Super Bosses Perfect Cell, Whis, Beers, Final form Freeza, Majin Boo (Pure) -> blank -> Super Bosses SSJ3 Goku, SSJ Vegetto, GOD Goku, SSJ3 Gogeta, SSJ Goku

I was searching for the QR Code with Freeza and Chilled since a long time! Could you PM me it if possible @_@ ? Thanks.
Re: Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission for 3DS
After these sales there's no way they can't be considering an English version of this game. If they didn't release it, that would just be like throwing money away. Surely they realise how big DBZ is in North America (and Europe)!
