Re: Bandai planning to "conquer the world"?
To be honest, Tenkaichi 2 is better than its sequel. By time Raging Blast was on its way to 2009, it's pretty much just a waste potential of a game. From the Budokai series up to Tenkaichi 2, they were pretty good games, but afterward the games went downhill pretty badly. There's nothing new aside from new graphics and an OVA. I hope they learned a lesson and move on from it and start from a scratch.

Raging Blast 2's gameplay felt faster, improved and the camera actually followed the characters instead of screwing itself up. So it was more than just new graphics and a bonus video.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:To be honest, Tenkaichi 2 is better than its sequel. Those games hardly came out a long time ago. The kids born during the late 90's (1997 - 1999) and early 2000's would able to know what those games are.Super Saiyan Prime wrote:Children buy Dragon Ball games too. I didn't say that he did lie. I do think we could see something by July, but I'm not holding my breath. He seems like a awesome guy and some of his ideas are neat, but I'm going to wait for the reviews for the game comes out before I buy it.dbboxkaifan wrote:

Re: Bandai planning to "conquer the world"?
I NEVER go by reviews. Especially if it's a Dragonball game. I usually lurk on message boards, see what the general feelings are towards the game, watch videos on Youtube, maybe read a walkthrough. Then buy it.
B1 had a great story mode and presentation that's it. The gameplay was pretty flat. B2 was similar and maybe a little more refined but still not perfect. B3 finally got the gameplay fairly refined and a had great bunch of modes but Hyper Mode and Dragon Rush let it down. BT1 was interesting experiment and I actually thought captured a bit of the 'feel' of the anime but needed a LOT of refinements, BT2 was better but the animations (To be honest though all the BT games have crap animations) were flat and certain moves could be spammed like crazy and take heavy damage- rushes and energy blast volleys, BT3 I thought had the most refined gameplay of all three (lacking cancels though) and some decent animation (for the rushes especially- the usual combat animation was stiff) buel t it focused a little too much on fanservice but it had some great modes. IW was a terrific refinement gameplay wise to B3 but Aura Burst was NOT needed. It also lacked modes and as such is treated more like an expansion rather than a true sequel.
I'd say cream of the crop are BT3, B3 and IW overall.

It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.

Re: Bandai planning to "conquer the world"?
I've always felt that the way the Budokai games came out, they were not only great expansions of their previous installments but also did enough to make each game stand out. What I mean is, if you play Budokai 3(or better yet IW) you are going to see just about the best of every game before it. Combat, animation and so on all improve with each new game(like Spike's games). The difference is that I feel if you just play Budokai 3, you still need to play 2 and 1 just to experience the fun what if fusions and the amazing story mode of each game respectively. Personally, and this is just me, I feel like if you play BT3 you don't need to play 2 or 1. Because they feel more or less like the same game with just better improvements each time. So it's really hard to think of BT2 as being better when BT3 added more content; had smoother combat and did away with locking on.

The only thing Tenkaichi 2 did better, in my opinion, was the Story Mode. It was complete and used every character they had in the roster while Tenkaichi 3's Story had several key fights missing.SparkyPantsMcGee wrote:I've always felt that the way the Budokai games came out, they were not only great expansions of their previous installments but also did enough to make each game stand out. If I were given the choice to play either Tenkaichi 1, Tenkaichi 2 or Tenkaichi 3. I'd choose Tenkaichi 3 with the music muted and Japanese voices. Very unfortunate the music in Tenkaichi 3 is horrible, except for 5-6 tracks.SparkyPantsMcGee wrote:I've always felt that the way the Budokai games came out, they were not only great expansions of their previous installments but also did enough to make each game stand out. I remember picking up Tenkaichi 3 and getting used to the controls right away, they were easy to control and fluent. Tenkaichi 2 was a bit off for me, and that's one of the reasons I didn't like it.
Now UK's Tenkaichi 3 has increased its price on Amazon, kinda glad I bought it when it was cheap.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_nos ... enkaichi+3
The soundtrack of Tenkaichi 2 was great and visiting cities was interesting but very limited, so I wonder why the hell they even included it since the player couldn't move freely around the city. I wouldn't expect a sandbox game but at least some liberty.FlpShimizu wrote:The only thing Tenkaichi 2 did better, in my opinion, was the Story Mode. If they had the Japanese music for Tenkaichi 3, I'd probably play it much more often. I agree dboxkaifan, that soundtrack is awful... I mute it and try to play some tracks on Youtube from the original score instead.

It makes the game so much better, I'm not sure if my brother still has the boot disc; but I agree totally. Would've made the English release a lot better.Insertclevername wrote:Same here DBZ Mick and dboxkaifan. I'm even on the lookout for the actual Sparking Meteor!!.

Re: Bandai planning to "conquer the world"?
That's why it should get an HD release, so we can play our own songs. The fact that only Japan gets the series' score in the games pisses me off.

Re: Bandai planning to "conquer the world"?
Just had a thought. Maybe this year's game will be revealed around the same time last year's sort-of-new-but-not-really-new dbz game was announced: Budokai HD Collection. Which I recall was near the beginning of July of last year. But like I said before that's not a very good way to market a game. It's like saying "Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is announced today! And it will be released next month!" It doesn't really give you enough time to market the game to the specific audience it's trying to sell itself to.
This is why May was always a good month for announcements. Namco Bandai would then spend the summer literally advertising the game at E3, Japan Expo, etc. All leading up to their usual October release. But that's IF we get a DBZ game at all this year. July should be the latest we should wait until anything is said. IF still nothing shows up then I give up...

They could announce it at E3 like every other game that gets announced around this time.
Re: Bandai planning to "conquer the world"?
Yes the game will come out this year..probably the game will be announced in June and be playable in Japan Expo in the begining of July..Or the worst scenario is the game will be revealed in Japan Expo (which is like 4 July if I'm not wrong)GogetaSSJ2 wrote:Just had a thought. It's strange for a DBZ game to be announced so late, but I can't see it being announced before Japan expo.

Still no news? Cmon I just wanna quick reveal. After that they can take their sweat time developing this thing.

I hate how the song "Meteor" is the default song for everything and doesn't change unless you change it yourself. The first day playing, I was sitting around wondering why the same song played every time I played versus mode regardless of the stage.DBZ Mick wrote:If they had the Japanese music for Tenkaichi 3, I'd probably play it much more often.
