Why do you dislike BoG?

He is, actually. Yep, someone couldn't handle the new generation doing stuff, so they had to have Goku hold their hands from the dead.

They failed, dude. They had the reigns handed to them and they literally failed. Both in story and out.

When has DBZ ever been about the animation, lets be honest here. @Vice, I still believe Gohan should have been the hero at the end of the day. Yeah let Goku and Vegeta be revived and all but I think Pure Buu should have been much stronger than Goku or Vegeta imagined and they should have brought Gohan and Gotenks over to finish the job. It would symbolize a sort of passing the torch on to their sons.

I think the ending could still be the Genki-Dama, just rewrite Kid Boo at Bootenks level or lower and have Gohan and Gotenks fight him off while Goku does the Genki-Dama. IDk i'm just spitballing. I think having Genki-Dama save the day was a great way to end DBZ. My problem is that Goku's whole point in the Boo saga was basically discarded at the end as he didn't pass things on to the next generation and never does.

Uh, what's the alternative? Gohan? Been there, done that. Didn't really work out. Goten/Trunks? Pretty sure nobody wants that. Vegeta/Piccolo? Yeah, that ain't happening.

Or to be frank for a second, why not Vegeta and Piccolo? Even Gohan deserves more than what shit like BoG and GT give him.

While I wouldn't be opposed to Vegeta being the hero, it happening while making some degree of sense is highly unlikely. Piccolo? Lolno. If Toriyama hadn't set up Gohan to be pacifistic slacker, I wouldn't be opposed to a little more Gohan action.

Gohan was knocked off his pedestal by Toriyama's quick change of mind or an editor that felt Gohan shouldn't be the hero for some reason. Either way it's poor writing to see so much character development for absolutely nothing.

That and he was just flat unpopular as the main character.

It is an older series so it is easier to just use the main cast as is without taking time to develop a new hero. That was the case for this movie at least. Maybe we'll get to see him in some future material but they might not want to write around GT.

Gohan does have one thing going for him I suppose. He is the strongest non-fused character by the end of the series. That counts for something I suppose. I also can't fault Gohan too much since he had no idea Buu could absorb people.
