I think Funimation was reading this topic and decided to troll penguintruth :P

I don't think anyone in their trailer department has ever seen how static works. :P It seems they've got the TV version of movie 3 on this box set. I have to say I'm disappointed, but considering they used that script over the Pioneer one from the original home-video version for their in-house movie 3 dub I wonder if it's the only one they actually have the rights to.

Eh, not like I was going to get this anyway.

This is such a fun release. (No pun intended) Really taking me back and I'm getting psyched to watch the show again in all it's edited glory.

Is movie 3 the TV dub? The only distinguishing characteristic I noticed in the trailer was Kaio's spiel about a "wicked tree called the Tree of Might", which is in the uncut script.

In fact, if you want to quickly create a popular image, simply over saturate the colors and increase the contrast. While you may not achieve a sophisticated image, you will achieve an image that will please a less demanding audience." - Alain Briot

I thought I heard the Levy score in that clip but now I'm not so sure...

Actually, the line seems to be the same in both the uncut and TV dubs. I guess it might just be the TV dub, maybe?

Gotta admit, this trailer even gets me nostalgic, and I have like...no real connection to the Ocean dub. FUNi had already moved stuff in-house by the time I got into the show, so the main Ocean dubbed things I saw were the first three movies (which I'll admit I do kind of want those, wonder how hard those old singles are to find now...).

It gets me nostalgic for the old times more so than the show itself though, which is weird. It takes me back to a time before we had the entire series over here, before it had even all aired yet, much less before it was all available on DVD. Back to a time where it seemed like we'd never get those first set of DBZ episodes released here again, or any movies beyond the first three. Back to before we'd even gotten DB or GT yet. Back to when I was reading stuff about the unseen material via Pojo's magazine or on websites like Planet Namek and, god forbid, Wikipedia. I've only been in the fandom for a little over 10 years now I think, but even in that amount of time, a LOT has changed. It's fun and scary to think about all at once.

The trailer does confirm a couple things:

- The original broadcast footage as-is will be used, so the audio/video edits will remain intact. Very unlikely there will be scenes added or redubbed.
- The TV-only version of Tree of Might is included. You can hear Ian Corlett screaming when Tullece's scouter explodes. Whether or not BOTH versions will be included remains to be seen.
- We get a brief glimpse of the new booklet. Looks similar in layout to the Season Set & Dragon Box booklets.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

Just finished watching the trailer and I did like that distorted 90s TV look it had. The line Kaio says 'A wicked tree called the Tree of Might' is definitely from the TV version, I listened to both to confirm it. So it looks like the TV version will finally get a home release, though hopefully the Uncut version is included as well. But now that I think about it, even Dead Zone and Worlds Strongest could get TV versions too as they had cuts also but it was based off the Uncut version.

For those that can't view the video, you can download the video via File2HD.com

I'm thrilled now for this release! I actually hope that FUNimation includes both the uncut and the televised versions of the movies in this release! The trailer just got me so excited!

Even though I pre-ordered the box set on Rightstuf about a week ago, I already want it to arrive in my mailbox! :D

Well that's just great. They finally release the trailer and I can't watch it :x. Damn international restrictions.

Yep, that trailer is steeped in nostalgia. I'm fairly excited for this now, the 13th of August can't come soon enough. I do hope the Pioneer version of Movie 3 is on there as well.

I used File2HD.com like BluezaBladeNZ said and it worked for me. Give that a try.

I approve of that trailer. Perfect tone for such a release.

They'll have the "STAND BY FOR DRAGON BALL Z" thing!

Also, Don Brown's Garlic Junior was awesome.

I know, right? I think the FUNi VHS tapes kept those for a lot longer into the in-house dub, didn't they? I know I had some VHS tape that had that on there anyway...I want to say a Cell Games tape even, but it may have just been the Bardock special?
Also, Don Brown's Garlic Junior was awesome.
I've always liked whoever it was that did the original Dr. Wheelo myself. I actually enjoy him more-so than R. Bruce Elliot in the re-dub.

Holy shit, that was an awesome trailer.

I can't believe I want this.

They even rounded the corners of the video in some shots to simulate a tube TV .

Well... making TV-watching from the late '90s feel archaic. That's my feel old moment for the day...

Well I tried File2HD.com but unfortunately was only able to watch the trailer with no sound which kind of defeats the purpose.
