FUNimation to make announcement on FB

Once they receive 1 million likes, FUNimation stated they will make a big announcement. They are currently only 4k likes away.

We're now less than 4k away from 1 million likes on our Facebook page. When we make it to 1 million we'll make an announcement!

Might not even be Dragon Ball related, but we'll see soon.

If we knew for sure it was DB related, I had a few predictions, but since it could be anything...who knows.

I'd help out on this, but I've already 'liked' their page on FB, so I'll just have to see if I can snag others to do so if they haven't yet.

My lucky guess is that they most likely got the rights to Battle of Gods and plan to release it next year on DVD & Blu-Ray.

Why, yes it is. It's apparently key animation from MIchihata Yoshinobu. That scene and the lighting during Germs and Dagget's conversation in the factory are my favorite parts of that episode.

I remember that episode (well, two-parter) having a very strong impact on me as a child. It was just so dark, and the animation was extraordinarily creepy.

I think something like BOG will be more bigger for a 1 million likes announcement then the other Dragon Boxes. The chances are they likely renew their rights since their Dragon Ball rights are set to expire next year and could have renew them until 2020.

A DB announcement would be great. I'll be following their page throughout the day to keep an eye out for any hints or anything. I'd love to see a BoG announcement, or something related to the franchise as a whole, even if it's a renewal.

I guess there is a likelihood that this announcement is Battle of Gods. After all, Diamond Films has the rights, maybe FUNimation does, too? Hmm...

It could also be the "official" announcement of Kai's Buu arc as well, complete with air date.

Something like Kai won't be something worth announcing for 1 million likes. Maybe we are lucky, Funi could plan to do screenings for the movie this summer at Otakon. They did with Evangelion 1.0 in 2009 at Otakon.

I hope it's Dragon Box: The Movies, Dragon Ball Dragon Box or BoG. If it's BoG I don't have to spend $100 on importing it.

If it is BOG then I will likely wait for the movie to come out on Blu-Ray in the US and not import it. The last movie from Japan that imported was Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy on Blu-Ray seeing that Ultraman rarely gets release on home video in the US.
