Pictures color-corrected to fit various official versions
Re: Pictures color-corrected to fit various official version
The red actually looks kinda good on Vegeta. Still not as good as the classic blue, though. Blue and yellow just go together really well.
Re: Pictures color-corrected to fit various official version
No update tomorrow cause I'm leaving in the morning and not returning to a web-connected area until the end of next week (as far as I know).

Re: Pictures color-corrected to fit various official version
I like that silverish color on Perfect Cell, would have been cool if he had come back "super Perfect" that color. imagine the SSJ2 aura on a metallic colored PC, that would be too awesome.
But I guess Freeza already had that color.

Re: Pictures color-corrected to fit various official version
I'll try to update tomorrow cause I came back too late to undergo such a task now (recoloring, resizing, uploading, editing...).
Otherwise, I'll fall asleep before I even finish (it's really late over here).
As I said, I will try to check back the pages and see about having some of your requests (hopefully MOST of your requests) added.
I'll see what I can do with the time I have!

UPDATE: LUNCH / KRILIN / MISTER POPO / PICCOLO / SON GOKU / TAO PAI PAI
At the last minute, I chose not to include Super Saiyan Goku's full-render yet because there is an oddity in the original render (boots with yellow lines and red lace), which doesn't fall in line with the classic anime version and will have to be corrected before I re-upload it and create a link this time. So you only have the Full-Color Manga version for it right now.
As promised, I tried to add some of your past requests/ideas for this week's update, plus young Krilin and Lunch as a bonus.
LUNCH:

[/URL]
1) Anime version.
2) Full-Color Manga version.
Among lots of tint adjustements, we can notice black suspenders, no yellow on the shoes (white instead), and more stikingly black eyes and a much more toned down blue for the hair, which could almost appear as black hair if it wasn't for that subtle blue tint remaining. Kind of a compromise between the anime's clear blue and Toriyama's original black hair.
KRILIN:

1) Anime version.
2) Full-Color Manga version.
A very distinct appearance thanks to the normal eyes, and a completely different color scheme for the clothes. His costume is now orange (possibly fitting more with the concept that he's a shaolin?), and we got brown pants, black shoes (with white bottom) and blackish dark grey chest lace and belt.
MISTER POPO:

1) Anime version.
2) "US Censorship" Anime version.
For channels mainly targetting at kids, Popo had to be recolored into a fluorescent (some call it "radioactive") blue.
3) Full-Color Manga version.
The vest is now a dark, desaturated orange with white lines, and the accessories have a more orangy kind of yellow - while the head jewel has kept the original yellow-yellow). And the head jewel has turned into a ruby now. The bottom of the shoes are white instead of yellow as well.
PICCOLO:

1)Anime version.
2) Original Manga / Full-Color Manga / Kanzenban version.
No pink, but a red belt instead of blue.
3) Chapter 178 & 205 version.
For those specific chapters, Piccolo wears an outfit reminiscent of the color pages for his father, with a black costume complete with a desaturated purple belt.
4) Chapter 187 version.
A version quite close to that of the anime except for minor tint variations and the usual "no-pink muscles" in all manga versions.
5) Super Butoden 2 version.
For this alternative costume, he goes through the same changes as Gohan in the same Super NES game: the belt becomes blue like in the anime, and the outfit is so dark and desaturated that it could almost seem black.
6) Hyper Dimension version.
For the alternative outfit in this Super NES game, the manga appearance is retained, but the clothes go black.
7) Zenkai Battle Royale version.
White clothes with a purple belt for one of this game's alternative costume.
SON GOKU:

1) Anime / Original Manga version.
2) Full-Color Manga version.
A Super Saiyan has blue - I think it's precisely cyan - eyes in this edition. The clothes keep all the characteristics from the Full-Color manga: the usual manga orange dogi, but shoes with white lines and red laces.
3) Limited palette version.
To match the limitted palette of some manga pages, Toriyama could have just used his regular color scheme, albeit without the missing colors (brownish yellow hair and grey eyes). Instead of that - and like many other times -, he chose to alter his color scheme to fit those limitations. His way to make the hair and eyes pop was to have the hair pure white - blending with the white aura -, and red eyes (note that the red is faded compared to the red eyes of Freezer and Polunga in the same chapter).
4) DBZ Movie 4 version.
The first concept for the Super Saiyan turned out to be different than the "final product". It appears in the fourth Z movie and can be retrospectively considered a palette swap of the usual Super Saiyan, retaining the same overall shape and aura. The difference is that the hair color doesn't change and the irises are missing. Goku appears to be constantly flying in this version. Because of the difference with the usual Super Saiyan, this form is considered as being the "false", "incomplete" or "unachieved" Super Saiyan, the famous in-universe explanation being that the transformation could not reach completion, Goku remaining in some sort of "in-between" state between is normal form and his Super Saiyan form (further emphasized by the anime version of Goku's first transformation, briefly showcasing this form as part of the process).
5) DBZ Movie 5 version.
This version was prepared for the fifth Z movie when the concept for the Super Saiyan appearance was being refined. It shows hair shadows being slightly more orangy - a minor difference - while the eyes go red instead of green. This version ultimately does not appear in the actual movie, since the Super Saiyan was then defined for good and used instead.
TAO PAI PAI:

1) Anime version.
2) Full-Color Manga version.
Another, similar pink tint for the costume, but the lines are white with black nooses. The sleeves are purple instead of blue. The symbol is also different, replacing the big red circle by a thick, black circle coupled with a narrow, inner white circle.
3) Daizenshuu 089 version.
For this artwork, there are white lines with green nooses, green sleeves, and a redish orange costume. The symbol on the chest is written in red with a green circle.
4) The World version.
The suit is a yellowish green with black sleeves.
5) Kanzenban version.
Tao Pai Pai has a mustard-like yellow outfit, with grey lines.
6) DB Movie 3 version.
An alternative, blue-oriented palette swap for this movie. The symbol on his chest has a black background instead of white too.

Popo's lips are colored with a quite less saturated red in the full color manga, more or less the same color us regular humans have (somewhat in between pink and purple)

That's right, I was completely oblivious to this.omegalucas wrote:Popo's lips are colored with a quite less saturated red in the full color manga, more or less the same color us regular humans have (somewhat in between pink and purple)
It shall be corrected next time, thanks!

Re: Pictures color-corrected to fit various official version
On page 65 of the third Saiyan arc volume of the full color release a somewhat mixed version of these two outfits appears; it happens when Goku realizes that he was the one who killed Grandpa Gohan and has a flashback of himself talking with the old man: in that flashback Goku is seen wearing a purple gi just like that one on 2) (same shade of purple) but with purple wristbands (again, same shade) and a red belt like the one from 3).Cold Skin wrote: SON GOKU:
2) Daizenshuu 3 version. Goku appears to be wearing purple instead of indigo/blue. The scabbard on his back his a darkened yellow. The difference is not so big in the end.
3) Daizenshuu 44 version. From a Toriyama artwork used as a sticker. Goku keeps his red wrists, but now his belt is red too. His clothes show a faded, light blue (not too far from the one used by Toriyama in the full color pages of chapter 1).

^ Thanks, I wasn't about to access that flashback anytime soon, so I wouldn't have known!

UPDATE: GINYU / GOGETA / SON GOKU / ZABON
CORRECTIONS:
- The full-render for Super Saiyan Goku's anime version was added. Last week, I didn't add it cause I thought there was a mistake in the boots. Turns out I had just never noticed that Goku does have boots with yellow lines and red laces at this point of the story in the anime!
- Mister Popo's lips for the Full-Color Manga were wrong, they've been corrected for both the icon and full-render.

LEFT: Wrong version. - RIGHT: Corrected version.
Supersonic Warriors, Shin Butoden and ever more Full-Color Manga renders, that's what you get for this week's update!
GINYU:

1) Anime version.
2) Kanzenban version.
Ginyu shows a darker purple than on the anime. His scouter is now blue. The line on the side of the scouter is blue as well, but there is also supposed to be a red button which only appears on the "Goku possessed" picture down below. Note that the scouters belonging to Commando Ginyu are different than the one from Raditz, keeping their white color and various colors for lines and buttons, while Raditz' scouter is all dark grey, possibly hinting at a lower quality.
3) Dragon Ball Z (Arcade) version.
A greenish skin for this game's alternative appearance, it does give a different "classic alien" feeling to the character. The scouter and emblem do not not appear in-game.
4) Ultimate Battle 22 version.
An alternative armor for that game, with a grey and blue armor. The scouter and emblem do not appear in-game.
5) Supersonic Warriors version.
In this game, the alternative look shows a more indigo skin and a white armor. For some reason, I think Ginyu actually looks like one of the good guys, a good spaceship captain like that. The scouter and emblem do not appear in-game.
GOGETA:

1) Anime version.
2) Shin Butoden version.
Alternative look for a video game, the vest has a very soft turquoise tint, with purple shoulder pads, and a bright green belt. Most strikingly, the hair color has a redder tint than the usual Super Saiyan hair we're used to.
3) Budokai 3 version.
The alternative oufit for this game shows a green vest, and a slightly dessaturated yellow for the belt and ankles. Shoulder pads unchanged.

Finally, his signature big lips have a less aggressive, faded pinkish color like regular lips.
SON GOKU:

1) Anime version.
The manga version uses shades of blue that are different from this one.
2) Full-Color Manga version.
When definitive colors are set on chapter 3, Goku's color scheme is revealed as being orange, with quite dark red wrists and ankles, black shoes, and the Full-Color Manga Nyoi Bo (purple scabbard and red staff). It keeps in line with Toriyama's own choice back then. The tail is lighter than in the anime.
3) Full-Color Manga flashback version.
When Goku remembers his time with Grandpa Gohan during the Saiyan arc, the costume he had back when his grandfather was alive is revealed: a purple outfit (similarly to the "Daizenshuu 3 version") with purple wrists (again, similarly to other artworks) and a red belt (similarly to "Daizenshuu 44" version). The Nyoi Bo was kept as the Full-Color Manga version, and the tail is still brighter than the anime's version.
4) Daizenshuu 3 version.
Goku appears to be wearing purple instead of indigo/blue. The scabbard on his back his a darkened yellow. The difference is not so big in the end.
5) Daizenshuu 44 version.
From a Toriyama artwork used as a sticker. Goku keeps his red wrists, but now his belt is red too. His clothes show a faded, light blue (not too far from the one used by Toriyama in the full color pages of chapter 1).
6) Daizenshuu 77 version.
From a Toriyama drawing used for a daily school schedule (offered with the 1987 calendar as a bonus). Goku wears light blue clothes and orange wrists and ankles. He also has an orange cap, but it doesn't appear on this picture.
7) Kanzenban version N°1.
A whole new outfit for little Goku is revealed in the very first Kanzenban. Black on the bottom, greenish-yellow on the up, wrists are almost black with just a little hint of blue, and the tail has a light tone. Later, for the Super Exciting Guide, Toriyama goes back to a look that's closer to the original design.

1) Anime version.
2) Super Butoden series version.
For all three Super Butoden games, Goku's alternative color is vivid red.
3) Shin Butoden version.
A really yellow dogi with very dark and desaturated underclothes for this video game's alternative look.
ZABON:

1) Anime version.
2) Chapter 255 version (with Kanzenban touch).
Zabon appears with a totally white skin, wears dark blue sleeves and brighter blue jewels and eyes. He also has a shade of green that goes more towards a yellow tint, being somehow "leaf green". The armor has a slightly different tint as well. Note that the cape does not appear and was left as is in the render above. Nor does the scouter, which is depicted as blue here based on the Kanzenban covers showing they do exist as blue, and given that Zabon seems to have a fondness for that color in that version.
3) Daizenshuu 150 version.
This version has an almost white skin with a subtle tint of blue that is only visible through shadows (comparing the shadows of the skin to the shadows of the white armor helps to perceive that hint of a blue tint). The sleeves and eyes are purple this time, but we don't see the panties and can't know how they would be affected by the overall color scheme. The hair have a more vibrant shade of green in that artwork, going more towards the blue side than the yellow one. The cape does not appear on the artwork. Nor does the scouter, which is based on the dark blue scouter worn by Dodoria in the very same illustration for the render above (it is likely that Zabon would have the same since he seems to like purple/blue accessories/clothes).
4) Ultimate Battle 22 version.
A simple switch between the blue and pink/purple elements is enough sometimes to create an alternative appearance for a game.
5) Shin Butoden version.
After seeing Bulma, Zabon was inspired by the unusual beauty of purple hair: he chose that he would rather have the greenish tint on his armor instead of his hair and went for purple all over: hair, panties, cape... As always with 2D games, the scouter does not appear.
6) Ultimate Butoden version.
Red on Zabon, that's not something you see everyday. Namely, the sleeves are purple, but the cape and legs and panties are very red, although tending towards pink a little.
CORRECTIONS:

Three other color schemes you can add:
green-dressed Kaio from the original tankobon spine art:

green-skinned Pilaf from Battle of Gods Toriyama drawings:

purple(!)-skinned Pilaf and purple-dressed Son Gohan (from the era of Raditz's arrival) from the new tankobon spine art:

And red Garlic Junior is now a thing too:

Re: Pictures color-corrected to fit various official version
UPDATE: GARLIC JUNIOR / KAIO / PILAF
Your requests on a silver plate!
GARLIC JUNIOR:

1) Anime version.
2) Dragon Ball Heroes version.
An orangy-red version used in a mission for Dragon Ball Heroes, we can infer his belt is desaturated pink since it's supposed to have the same color than his wristles.
3) Tenkaichi Budokai version N°1.
There is no version of this game being the exact replica of the anime version. This one wears a white belt, and has more of a dark blue tint, although it can be quite subtle.
4) Tenkaichi Budokai version N°2.
Like the first outfit for this game, there is a white belt, and this time the tint tends more towards the green side, making his skin somewhat turquoise.
KAIO:

1) Anime version.
2) Tankobon spinart version.
The version you can see when looking at the spine of your original Tankobon collection. Most noticeably, his skin is white and his outfit is mostly green, with red lines and orangy clothes underneath.
3) Daizenshuu 196 version.
You've already seen a pink Kaio. But maybe you've never seen OUR North Kaio being pink. In a party artwork by Toriyama, Kaio appears in his usual outfit, albeit with a purple hint on his hat. But his skin has changed! What if Kaio could actually change the color of his skin when it's party time? Might be his way to suit up for the occasion! That, and white glasses too.
4) Kanzenban version N°1.
Totally new colors for Kaio's outfit compared to the anime. He reappears in a later Kanzenban cover with yet another set of colors (a little closer to the anime version, with pink or red sleeves), but playing a minor role in the illustration instead of being the main (very detailled) center of interest, so I guess this first version you see is more relevant.
PILAF:

1) Anime version.
2) New Tankobon spineart version.
Shows Pilaf with a purple skin, like a mini-Ginyu! He doesn't appear fully, so we don't know how his overall clothes would be affected, and the original were kept for this picture.
3) Battle of Gods design version.
Toriyama originally drew Pilaf with a green skin for the most ambitious Dragon Ball movie at the time. That little guy tried various colors for his skin, he must have some chameleon DNA. Anyway, the hat is still here with alternative colors, but the clothes are different, so it's impossible to define how they would be affected and they were kept the same here.

Yeah, I could have asked, but then you would have seen that update coming instead of having the surprise (not that the surprise factor matters that much though)!

By the way Coldskin, the render of Pilaf from BoG is done, we hope to upload it soon, the problem is that we just don't know what to use as background, so I think we'll have to wait till the Blu Ray release...
