He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke
Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

How the hell did you get Brent Spiner to work on DBZ Abridged?

I loved the new episode.

Goku the only one who knows he's sick and Yamacha's song plu 19 were only some of the highlights. Can't wait for Vegeta to come back next episode.

Fun ep. X3
Especially liked the computer stuff with 19, Yamcha doing the disclaimer, that song X3 , Goku only finally messing up their lies at the very end, pocket bacon, leaving the senzu behind as it would weigh then down,Trunks as a girl's name, Yajirobe's would be burrito shop. Also poor Goku being ill and no one, not even himself notices.
On hiatus.

Not as funny as the previous ones, but still awesome as always.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Yajirobe is voiced by KaiserNeko and Dr. Gero is voiced by GeneralIvan, he also did Cooler's voice in Cooler's Revenge Abridged.

I'm going to go with "it's a gag, and 19 is really voiced by a text-to-speech program".

What did you expect? They're merely introducing the Cyborgs. It's about what I expected to be honest. I expect the next episode to be funnier though.

Nice use of the production song "Cornered" from the Non-Stop Producer Series when the Androids attack. I can tell at least one of you are old-school wrestling fans haha!

I have an ear for many production songs so beware! :P
My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

True, but I enjoyed the past few episodes so much. This one was alright. The highlight for me was

There were quite a few gags I liked myself. I can't quite peg a favorite.

I was just looking yesterday how long it had been since Episode 34 and thought hopefully any day now... and then BOOM! Right on time! Another solid episode, not as many laughs as the last one, but still good. :)

Mmm... pocket bacon.

Highlights:

- "Make sure you don't tell Chi-Chi."
- Everyone guessing Vegeta is the father immediately
- "Cat loves food" song
- "What do you think, inconspicuous old man and mime?"
- Goku mentioning his chest pains
- "Would you like to send a report?"

I always wondered, by the way, how Yamucha wasn't immediately killed by having a hand shoved through the middle of his body making a gigantic hole. I mean, even the Senzu has to have something to work with, right?
Kentai wrote:Son Gokuu is a fascinating character anyway, because he is - at face value, anyway - an idiot savant. The victim of violent head trauma as an infant [...] he's a simple bumpkin with a fair share of brain damage who's natural talents to work out what's wrong compensate for his broad lack of common sense. But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.
