No. I almost puked watching the dub first time, but I did watch all the dubbed episodes because at the time I did not have any other alternative (I think I got the vhs tapes that someone in the us sent to me taped off from CN).

Haha, I hadn't noticed that at all. That's hilarious. And anyone who quotes a post that uses that will use it as well if they don't manually change it.

The only way I'm buying it is if it gets to about $30 and indeed has the edited Tree of Might dub on it. Otherwise I'm perfectly okay with my Pioneer singles and movie releases.

If for some reason they put out a smaller, splintered-off set of just the three Ocean dubbed movies, then that I might nab for the right price, as I do have some nostalgia for those. But this set as it is though, I have no...well, not 'no interest' as I am keeping up with it as it comes out, but I have no actual incentive to buy the set for myself, if that makes any sense.

If, and only if, it somehow gets cheaper than the Pioneer Box Sets or the Pioneer singles individually. Otherwise, that's what I'm getting. I already own the 3 movies on DVD, no point in getting them again. I would love to see the editted Movie 3 with Ian Corlett though.

I was re-watching the FUNimation trailer and noticed that it had a clip of Trunks attacking Mecha Frieza, which takes places long after Episode 53. Does this mean FUNimation will also release the AB Groupe episodes or was this clip simply used at random?

The trunks attacking frieza clip was part of the original 1996 intro which the trailer used clips of towards the end.

I will not. I may have grown up on it, but like any other dub the early FUNimation dub has nothing to do with the series.

Maybe if I have the money. I already plan to spend money at Otakon and Ocean City later this August. I also plan to pre-order Ultra Q as well.

Top notch voice acting :eh: ? I was watching the Ocean dub earlier today and the delivery of a lot of these characters was less than stellar.

Since he mentioned nostalgia, it could be back then he watched it like he watched American cartoons where folks don't notice bad acting.

You can like the corny voice acting, that's fine, but saying it's "good" is not an accurate statement.

Haven't been on the site in a while and just found out about this today.

Thought about buying this for a second, but then realized I'll pass. I don't really have any nostalgia for this material and still haven't bought the Kai Blu-Rays yet, which, if I'm going to buy any more Dragon Ball releases in the near future, hold a lot more appeal for me.

I think it's cool they're putting this out there for the people who want it though. All quality nitpicks aside, it's nice to see different versions of media not be lost to time if there are people who enjoy them.

Peter Kelamis did an excellent job as the English Goku and Drummond as Vegeta. Sabat is just.. Sabat.

I can think of plenty of excellent performances - Piccolo, Nappa, Vegeta, Goku (Corlette, not so much Kelamis), Gohan, Chichi, Kuririn, Chaozu, Yamcha, Dodoria, Zarbon, Bulma, Gyu Mao, Oolong, Puar, Mr. Popo, Kami, Garlic Jr., even Ocean's Kaio-sama has his charming qualities.

I think most of the acting in the Saban dub was pretty good. In fact the only real problems I really had with it were Frieza sounding like an old woman and Tien's actor not being able to act. Also Kelamis had some award sounding moments as Goku too.

I really liked Bulma's voice. In fact it's one of the few voices I prefer in the Ocean dub to Funimation. Also Drummond was great as evil psychotic Vegeta and Mcneil was great as demonic Piccolo. And I did like a lot of the dub lines like Piccolo saying Raditz was faster than the speed of light. I know he wasn't really but it did sound really intense and dramatic the way he said it with Levy's music playing as well.

Corlett has always been my favourite Goku after Sean. He sounds really heroic as Goku and is just good to listen to. Terry Klassen wasn't so annoying as Krillin in the Saban dub either. Chi Chi I thought sounded good but sounded too old for the character. And I thought Corlett sounded good as Roshi. Much better than the Roshi from Ocean's dub of World's Strongest.

And seeing as this set is including the TV Ocean dub with Corlett and Levy's music that's all the more reason for me to get it.
