Which version of Kai Blu-Rays have Yamamoto music?

Post by Ryuji-Otogi » Fri May 31, 2013 12:54 am

Hi. This topic might have been covered already but I'm having trouble finding the right words to pull it up on here or even on Google so I would like some help.

Is there a way to determine which Kai Blu-Rays have the Yamamoto soundtrack? Is it just the first several volumes from the original release with 13 episodes per (instead of twenty-something) or is it more complicated than that? If there is an easy way to know and find which Kai discs have the original plagiarized Yamamoto stuff then I'd like to know. :P

PS: I did pull up this but I couldn't totally follow it as it pertained to a specific volume and didn't necessarily discuss exactly which discs had what in depth.

Ok, so I think I figured it out. DBZ Kai Parts 1-4 (original Blu-Rays with 13 episodes per) are Yamamoto? Parts 5 and onward, and the Season versions with some 26 episodes per are the Kikuchi? They seem to be the ones that are 3 to 4 times more expensive. They're only $30 used though and I only need Parts 2 through 4, so that's not too bad.

Anyone want to confirm that for me?

If you're talking about FUNimation sets, that is correct. "Parts" 1-4 have Yamamoto, as well as the first inadvertent/mistaken/whatever release of "Season One".

"Parts" 5-8 and all subsequent "Season" releases all have Kikuchi.

I didn't want to start a whole new thread just for this, so I'll ask it here: How big, physically, are the Kai BRD season sets? Would one set take up less shelf space than two volumes? Would "Seasons 1-4" have only half the footprint of "Volumes 1-8?"

I should really just relax..." - MST3K theme song

Yeah. The volumes are 13 episodes per, while the seasons are about 26 episodes per. I mean, the individual Seasons cases are the same size as the Volumes cases if that's what you're asking.
