That was disappointing. I love Eva, but...I...kind of don't care about this announcement. An alternate universe Eva movie vs. a movie that continues the main universe of Dragon Ball? Would much rather have had Dragon Ball. A Bandai rescue would have been way more satisfying even.

Well, there's a theory out there that it isn't an alternative universe, and that the "Rebuild" tetralogy is, in fact, a sequel series....

In any event, exciting news (especially considering how long it took to get 2.0), but not DB-related.

I think Funimation will likely grab the rights to BOG next year and have it out on DVD & Blu-Ray later that year. I'm happy that 3.0 is finally coming out in the US. I missed out on the last screening for 2.0 in Maryland in 2011 and I hope to try to see it in theaters.

Well, I don't know to what degree you've seen it, but I wouldn't really think of it as a mecha anime, or at the very least, certainly not like "Gundam." "Evangelion" is much more of a character and psychology-based anime that just happens to use mechas as a motif.

As far as its popularity....I mean, there are different ways of measuring popularity, but FUNimation has claimed on at least one occasion that the "Rebuild" movies have sold more than their "Dragon Ball"-related products. Speaking from a personal standpoint, I would consider the series a masterpiece, and would even go so far as to call it my favorite anime, tied with DBZ.

So, uh... I've read about Neon Genesis Evangelion on Wikipedia. I'm kinda put off by its many religious stuff, like crosses and other things. But I've read that it's more of psychological than mecha.

Don't get me wrong. I've known about Evangelion for as long as you guys have, but I just have never bothered watching the series.
