Raging Blast 2 has 100 characters in total including the transformations and whatnot.
People really go overboard with the excessive amount of characters they want in a game. It's the quality that matters not quantity, 60+ characters is a decent amount (not featuring the transformations).
If you're to complain about anything, then it should either be the gameplay or music.

LOL! Still not better when they said Rb2 story mode was a WHat if story similar to Tenkaichi 2 and Budokai 3Hellspawn28 wrote:I like how the DBZ wiki puts the game under the Budokai Tenkaichi series. Well Raging Blast 2 had around 60 characters in total from what I can remember. I hope we could find out the character limit soon in a few months from now.

Pretty much this. But you can play your own music so....that should't matter. Through I hope the game music is at least decent. I haven't been a fan of the music of Dbz games since Tenkaichi 2.dbboxkaifan wrote:Raging Blast 2 has 100 characters in total including the transformations and whatnot.

Ultimate Tenkaichi had one or two good tracks
RB2 tracks were bad
RB1 tracks were annoying
BT3 tracks were boring

UT - Great but overall all the tracks sounded the same.TheGmGoken wrote:Ultimate Tenkaichi had one or two good tracks

RB1 - Same case as UT.
RB2 - Very enjoyable and that's due to the fact they were 'composed' by Kenji Yamamoto.
BT3 - It has 5-6 tracks worth listening the rest isn't.

I'd be okay with the same story as ever, as long as there's what-ifs. It's been four year since a game had that story, really, so it's not like we've consistently been pounded with the same exact Saiyan to Buu arc stuff. Hell, Budokai 2 +3 as well as Sparking! NEO didn't have the same old story. Neither did Raging Blast 2 or Ultimate Blast. I'm just now realizing why I'm not as tired of it as I should be. o_O

I thought the fact I said Bulma would make it clear I was joking. Combinding the tenkaichi 3 and rb 2 rosters plus a couple fan wanted characters would be 200 anyqay counting transformations.dbboxkaifan wrote:Are you serious.. 200 characters? By the way, you can play as Bulma in Budokai 3 if you know how.

Apparently there's a rights-holder problem with that.dbboxkaifan wrote:But for fuck sake, just give us the original Kikuchi music. Stop treating us like crap. >_<
AB Groupe, the rights holder for the Dragon Ball animes in Europe (and that includes the music) seems to be asking for a LOT of money to let Namco use the original soundtrack in the games.
Why that affects the music placement in the US 'version' if the games as well I don't know...

So from the information on the front page my question is how does combat really work especially for multiplayer? Is this going to be like Legends? How will all these different combat options sink up when you have more than one human controlled partner? I'm not so much focused on the story as I'm sure it will be the same thing as before just with in game better cutscenes. I'd really like a video explanation of all this soon and I hope in two days we get that from Namco.

I'm taking an educated guess. But if you look at clips of Zenkai Battle Royal or play Zeq2lite. I think you can guess the gameplay. I think it'll be similar to Super Smash Brother in terms of how multiplayer work. Well of course with the angles of a dbz game.THEGOKU wrote:So from the information on the front page my question is how does combat really work especially for multiplayer? It has both the normal story & the what-if story in Hero Mode. It has 2 Story Modes.Thanos wrote:See, I never played it, but I thought it was that weird random story with the "created" character and Super Yi Xing Long. But then I remembered I saw the new HD reanimated clips. Nevermind. But still...

I really hope this is the definitive Dragon Ball game of this generation. Saint Seiya is getting a new game (apparently by Dimps) that will cover all the sagas for the first time, with rumors of characters from alternate stories like Omega and Lost Canvas. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is getting an awesome game with lots of fanservice and easter eggs. Why can't we get a good Dragon Ball game for once?
Also, I want LOTS of charaters. I see no reason for wanting less characters than we should get.

Sorry, I can't speak English very well, but I'm trying my best.

We don't need anything ground breaking which is why I'm so curious about it but I do agree with you. We just need a gameplay that we can all finally just say "Wow...this is what dbz feels like" and that's all I'm hoping for. Oh and for trunks to have more long hair costumes from the series and movies.TheGmGoken wrote:I'm taking an educated guess. But if you look at clips of Zenkai Battle Royal or play Zeq2lite. Is there some kind of copyright reason for the US-releases not getting Kikuchi music?

Pretty much AB Groupe owns the rights to the music in Europe, and they charge a huge royalty rate. Since the European and US localization is the same, even US players get shafted when it comes to the Kikuchi score in video games.Big Momma wrote:Is there some kind of copyright reason for the US-releases not getting Kikuchi music?

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
I'm spit-balling here, so don't take anything as fact; but if I had to guess I think they are going to treat it kind of like Tag Vs. Meaning, you and your partner can split off and fight your own fights against separate enemies(I lock on and fight Cell while you fight Freeza, that sort of thing). However, I can trigger a quick time event(say press R2 at the right time) and my partner and I could pull off an attack with cut scenes similar to a special finish or something. The prompts for the attack(X,O,triangle, square) will probably bounce between both players and we'd have to probably both get them right to do some damage. After that, the battle could cut back to the way it was playing before. However, they seem to be stressing that this is a new fighting system but we'll see as the game gets pushed further along.THEGOKU wrote:So from the information on the front page my question is how does combat really work especially for multiplayer? EDIT: I have a question about the music. Is there a link that talks about this whole AB group thing? I don't think I've ever heard anything about this. Also if AB charges huge royalties how then can Funimation use the music for the their DVD releases?
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?
