if the story only goes up to Freeza it hurts the character roster as well. I find the character roster about as equally important as the gameplay because I like playing as my favorite character, which is part of the gameplay experience. The gameplay as it is already looks good. Not great, just good. I'll take Sparking Meteor, Budokai 3, or Raging Blast over this any day if they decide to cut corners and give us yet another half-assed DBZ game.

They didn't show Recoome and Ginyu. That doesn't mean that it goes from the Vegeta fight to half the Ginyu Force to Freeza and straight to Battle of Gods with Super Saiyan God Goku. It's a close to 2 minute trailer for a game that they have to tease for months to come.

When have they EVER shown everything in an announcement?
I'm just saying if. SSJ God could merely be a bonus character.

How can that be when Super Saiyan God is on the front cover?

Apparently there will be no offline coop... it says "Number of Players: 1 (1-8 for Online play)" :(

Also, battle damage is in the game.

I have to be honest, this made me A LOT less enthusiastic about this game as I love local mutliplayer and don't really enjoy online multiplayer

ARTDINK worked previously on a similar game which seems to play like Battle of Z.

Some of what's shown in BRD and from Zenkai Battle Royale. I can't wait for the game and to play as Super Saiyan God Goku! :)

I agree with you, besides I rarely play online.

Btw, "appearances from Special Force and Super Saiyan GOD!"

what is meant by Special Force? ..it's not Ginyu Force.

He could merely be a bonus character. However, I hope it does go up to BoG. I wonder though, how will the fight with Beers go down anyway? Is it gonna be SSJ God Goku and the rest of the guys vs Beers or will the story give multiple characters SSJ God  ?

I wouldn't worry about graphics too much. It's still early. They still have time to fine tune details. They probably just wanted to show they have something worth playing, then they go back and do post production stuff. I remember when the first Raging Blast came out, and they showed Goku soing a Kaio-Ken against Vegeta, it looked weird. It was a weird red glow, with no texture rework. Then of course it looked more like Kaio-Ken in it's final product.

CHILL! There will probably be more characters announced, you know, LATER! xD
I was nonplussed about this last night, when I saw someone complaining about how (they perceived) there would be no Earthbound characters in the new Smash Bros. What is it about new multi-playable character games that makes people think the initially revealed roster is the whole enchilada? I can't remember a time when an initial roster was ever revealed all at once in recent history.

DB Xenoverse is not a DBZ simulator with fighting elements, it's a semi competent fighting/action game with DBZ simulation elements.

Nah, it'll have all the essencials like always. And they'll have plenty of time to announce it all, little by little.

As far as the Battle of Gods stuff, the game does teams with UP TO 4 players. Meaning, it can still do everything from 1v1 to 4v4. It can still be just Goku vs Beerus or even Goku vs Beerus and Whis.

I suppose there won't be any bs Online Pass, hopefully. Namco Bandai needs to completely drop it.

The soundtracks seems like it won't be composed by Hiroshi Takaki so we won't be stuck on the same guitar songs infinitely. Yamamoto music back on DBZ would be a surprisingly awesome shock, but that's not happening. Kikuchi neither for the western release. :(

Better be a freakin typo. Co-op with friends will be fun but I wanna beat the shit outta them as well.

I doubt you wouldn't be able to fight with the CPU in an offline match... that just makes no sense. Same with Players v Players offline.

James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

How would the camera even work with offline co-op?

Split screen would be terrible at this point.

Meh. Graphics look pretty lame so far, but gameplay MAY change my mind. ...even though I have a VERY bad feeling about the gameplay in this one...
Most got suckered into Ultimate Tenkaichi because of its graphics and trailers, but when we actually GOT the game...it was shit.
$60 to play 50-50 chance...oh boy, how f***ing fun
I don't know...I just have a bad feeling about this whole tag fighting thing.
RB2 was almost perfect. Should have just stuck with RB3...oh well. I just hope this doesn't end up for SSjGod Goku like what SSj1 Bardock got. Poor poor poor poor poor poor Bardock. *shivers*
