Seeing and playing are two different things, just as is Console Gaming and PC Gaming.
I've never really played it but I've seen how unresponsive it is. It's an abomination to the gaming world. I recommend Angry Joe's review for those that interested to see how bad it is:

I wouldn't call the character models bad, but definitely on the blocky side. The Freeza one just seems to have smallish shoulders. Seems to be a recurring trend for DBZ character models in games: the actual polygon count is less than other games, but usually they just put a bunch of filters/textures/maps on them to create the look of the character.

As long as they move convincingly in-combat and in-game, it's not a big issue.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

I respect Joe's opinion because he played but unlike many, they just base their thoughts on what others said than actually play it.

If I were to go by what people say I'd never have picked up Super DBZ because according to them it's a terrible game, and it isn't true.

Remember, seeing and playing is two entirely different things they aren't the same.

When they release more info on that game. I surely hope they let you donate energy to the Genki Dami if you got Son Goku on your team. I thought they was going to do that on Tenkaichi 2 with the "give me energy".

Obviously, to be able to show eight characters at the same time, the number of polygons for each model must be lowered, so graphics do the necessary compromise for gameplay.

The trailer seems to show moments that are more than just special move animations and would imply a story.
Yet many situations are what-if battles where it seems some characters that should have been knocked down, or killed, or away, are there.
That gives weight to the theory of playing numerous "what if" scenes that would show what would have happened if events had turned in a way that some fighters were not discarded. New epic battles which are different than the story we've known.

This game could be interesting, the concept of sacrificing a bit of graphics - while still keeping them nice-flavored - for massive team battles along with "team what-if" situations has a lot of potential. So far, it looks intriguing and perhaps promising.
Wait and see! 8)

I don't like the graphics all that much either, but to me they look much better in motion.

Hey guys, new kid here, anyways....

Graphics, yeah they're tolerable, acceptable, given the hope that this focuses on gameplay and other aspects, they remind me of B3, though perhaps trading blockyness for blurryness (Still kinda questionable, but hey I can cope with it, I don't imagine there to be many cutscenes in battle at least)

As for the story, yeah sure, What-Ifs would be great, I'd welcome them, though perhaps an entire story would be asking for too much given the seemingly high focus on gameplay (Selling point=Team battles, online etc) Perhaps a couple chapters, akin to Budokai 1's what-ifs would be a nice touch, if we get any at all.

The reason I am questioning the story aspect, is while I see a majority here, and mostly on YT/FB posts exclaiming that we may get What-Ifs because of what the trailer showed - I do not see them branding it as a ''Story Trailer'' - They showed clips of fights that DID resemble the story, such as Krillin hitting Recoome, Goku tackling Burter and Jeice etc. It is this reason alone, I'd be perfectly okay playing the same old story once again, as I feel the added player size in matches would give it a little bit of a fresher take, despite it being the same thing!

But yes, if we analyse the trailer:
- Vegeta/Nappa/Raditz/Saibaman are all on the Rocky Plains, facing off Goku, take note how Vegeta is the only character to speak at this point, no characters that would otherwise be dead at that point (I.e. Raditz) speak at all - Take note that there is no actual footage of them being fought, the camera, or entire clip focuses on Goku, (occasionally gohan/krillin maybe?) beating on Vegeta and his Oozaru form.
- This translates to the most controversial Namek clip, Krillin/Piccolo right next to Goku?! GASP - Though again, it is only Frieza, a character who WOULD be there (Clearly) who speaks
- Tien mentions a line or two, during the closeup with Krillin/Yamcha, and while it says something like ''We'll help as well'' this is perfectly feasible for the story, given it was in the grassland where they all combine efforts to fight Nappa
- Running back to this, I believe it is GOKU who states ''We'll take on all four of you'' I am as a result of the above, ALMOST certain that these are merely versus battles, using characters that would make the ''most sense'' to be paired within the group at the time
(Yes, Krillin makes no sense to be paired with SSJ goku right before frieza, but still, he was present on Namek, and the fourth most relevant fighter up until that crucial point, would you rather Bulma?!)
Couple this with the ending shot of that oh-so-famous GUTPUNCH Goku delivers to Frieza in a 1-on-1 clip, I am quite assured the story will remain the same, unfortunate for quite a few of you it would seem, but nothing a few well done what-ifs could handle.

I just can't see a new DEV taking so much time on What-Ifs as a main thing given the focus on the gameplay ''gimmick'' of 4v4, tie that to the fact this seemingly promotes Battle of Gods and includes it most likely as a story arc, I can't see them having everything prior to it out of the canon and made up.

Here's to hoping it rocks our socks off though, eh?

Budokai 3 had great graphics and gameplay. This looks like good gameplay but decent graphics. I think the story-mode will be a what if re telling. Slightly alter to fit gameplay. But I hope they explain why they need to go to Namek if Piccolo is alive to fight Great Ape Vegeta. Unless Ape Vegeta kills him. Which is a good what if. Oh yeah. It's Piccolo,Gohan, Krillin, and Goku facing Great Ape Vegeta. You must have missed Piccolo lol. Vegeta said you finally showed up Kakarot. Just like he did in the anime lol. Maybe that's why he's the only one to talk. I think they took a page out of Dragonball SD and have Goku turn SSJ cause of Vegeta dying. That wasn't Goku who said "I'll take on all 4 of you". Goku JPN voice is much higher pitched. That was Vegeta's JPN voice. Not sure if you're familiar with the original audio(JPN) but Goku's voice is that of a soft spoken female.

I've actually looked into it, I didn't just jump on the hate band wagon. Yeah I didn't play it but I reviewed the criticisms and and watched the unresponsive gameplay. I don't have to play it to know it's bad.

I wonder if we will see any of the DBH characters like SSj3 Trunks and Bebi Janemba in the game. It's too bad that the DB video game page on Facebook took down their comment section on their wall.

I'll accept SSJ3 MIRAI Trunks and SSJ3 Vegeta, but that's about all I could tolerate. DBZ Heroes is almost insultingly bad IMO.

Could've sworn you can do that.
Yeah you can do that, but you'd get beaten up in a 1 Vs. 2 fight because you can only target one enemy at a time, allowing the other one to kick your butt. ._.

TTT's fighting mechanics weren't built to accomodate 1 Vs. 2, it was 1 Vs. 1 fighter but with two fights going on at the same time in a stage. :D

Nothing stated about this changing while playing.
It'll most probably be like the provious games: one version of the stage in the afternoon, one version at night, etc.
Nothing new, it's like this since the DBZs on SNES.

i just realised that this is an official photo of Battle of Z and not taken from another game ex,zenkai royale or tenkaichi tag team...

Image

from the photo it shows the target system is like tenkaichi tag team and zenkai battle royale....and i also like the health and ki one it's pretty simple but kinda bad i guess? as well the gameplay seems very close to zenkai (go see a video of zenkai and u will notice the goku attack one) as well as the enemies names/health same as zenkai so i guess it have a lot of similarities...

also the genki at the top? does that mean u have to beat him up to make spirit bomb? also which confirmed it's a spirit bomb look at the icon below 06 it looks like he's gathering energy....
