I don't see any merit in putting in non-fighter females just to increase the number of females in the game. Bulma isn't a fighter and should never be playable as one, it's just absurd.

How about Chi Chi?

Hey does anyone know is this game just Ki blast attacks and hand to hand combat? Is there rush attacks?

Sure, if you've added pretty much every other character you can think of. She's shown nothing and I wouldn't give her higher priority over many other fighters if any at all.

:eh:
He means Bra. Bulla is the translation/name that FUNI uses in their dub. Most likely since Bra might be too inappropriate...I don't know.

Bra could work but she really didn't do anything in GT worth while. Did she ever fight anyone?

Bulma could work as a joke character like Pilaf & co.

I don't see why Princess Snake should be included. Maybe as an easter egg or something.

I'm surprised Bulma hasn't been a playable character in a fighting game yet. They could give her an original move set like ChiChi(who should come in something) and have her use capsule weapons and Oolong and Pu'er.

I'm tellin' you, have her lift up her skirt and reveal her panties as her ultimate move. Then it's followed up with the opponent's nose bleeding cued to a huge explosion.

Bulma uses guns plenty of times in the series. Just make her a projectile-based character. Or... have her activate different capsules, each one with a different weapon.

I would definitely play as her.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

Captain-Sora wrote:Somehow, Spike had managed to beat the odds the first time with their original Tenkaichi line(how they managed to fix and update the gameplay so much and still manage to add in many more characters and a lengthy story mode to BT2 alone is a miracle), but with consoles and video games becoming more and more sophisticated, such an approach has been proven to be a bust this time around, and most likely it'll be even more problematic once we head into the next generation of consoles.
You have to give Spike credit where it's due -- the leap from Tenkaichi 1 to Tenkaichi 3 was huge, and Tenkaichi 3 ended up being a very polished game that is worthy of being compared to all the great DBZ games: Budokai 3, Legends etc. This shows that they do have the potential to learn from their mistakes and put out great games.

I'm a huge Tenkaichi 3 fan, and I've made that known over the years on this forum, but it's clear to even me that the series has gone way downhill. The reason? It could just be that different people were on the production team, but it's probably the case that they're just not putting the same effort into the games they used to. They know that DBZ games have brand power, and they find it much more cost-effective to add in bonus characters and OVAs than invest in a decent fighting system. Fans are lured in by these superficial additions, and Spike makes money.

Regarding this game, I have no idea about how it plays, and since it's a new developer, I'm curious to find out. The one thing I can comment on is the graphics. I'm a big fan of cell-shaded graphics for DBZ games -- I think they suit the series well -- but I think the graphics in Battle of Z are mediocre. I'm not put off from the game because they aren't terrible and the graphics are a fairly superficial aspect of any game, but I just felt they could've been better for 2013 (the graphics in DBZ games since the first Raging Blast weren't great either, and coincidentally the only the Tenkaichi series had graphics which I thought were okay for their time).

If they're going to do that they may as well redirect their efforts to making new moves for the actual fighters. Especially ones that lack anything to set them apart, like Goten or Gohan.

Princess Snake in her Snake form can be a giant boss.

Bulma is playable in Dragon Ball Origins 2, they can give her a similar moveset in fighing games in case they include her.
Princess Peach and other non-figters are in Smash Bros., why not including non-fighter characters in DBZ games while giving them gag moveset (remeber DB was originally a gag manga).

She is playable in Dragon Ball Evolution for PSP.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I'm still waiting on Puririn to be a thing in a game.. That Kienzankosappo is probably going to be the most badass finishing move in DB game history.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

Those SF2 graphics still look fantastic to this day, you just made me want to play it again. :P
Its a great game but you got to admit that the comparison made by that other guy was ridiculous.

How about Chi Chi?
Chichi was the best inclusion in Super dbz, I dont know how people can be pining so much for another twenty minions with nothing to say but think characters like Chichi, Bulma, even Kamesennin are useless due to powerlevels.
