I think everything is canon with sufficient multiversing. Though, my main canon is:
Dragon Ball Manga
Heya!! Son Goku and his Friends Return!(Manga)
Battle of Gods
Vegeta: "Funny... I seem to recall Kakarot being fed the same information right before he transformed; the distinct look on your faces when he went Super Saiyan didn't exactly inspire confidence. One does not predict or calculate power like ours."

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke
Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Just curious, but why the manga adaptations for these? Unless I'm remembering incorrectly, the manga releases followed the anime releases which would make them the spin-offs. Just like in the rare case that a book is movie-inspired.
I go by the manga versions because, well, this is my manga canon. :P

BTW, JSAT was released into an anime, then adapted into a manga. EoB was released into a manga, then into an anime.

To each his own, but it seems to me that the format shouldn't matter in cases like the former, because it still comes down to one version drawing inspiration from the other. I wouldn't have much of an issue accepting the Bardock TV special in my continuity because it's what gave inspiration to the two panels in the manga.

For the latter I would go with the manga as well.

Manga
Heya Son Goku and Friends Return
Battle of Gods
Trunks and Bardock specials. (NOT EOB)
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Basically, Toriyama's comment about the JSAT manga adaptation made me feel that the manga version is a better choice, since he talked like it was a new special chapter (well, chapters, since it was split in 2).

JSAT Special's manga came after the animation, but Episode of Bardock was released as a manga first.

None. Nothing.

My favorite version of the story, though, is the one told through the core events of the manga/original anime and GT. I guess that can include the JUMP 2008 special, but I don't particularly care for the effect Episode of Bardock or Battle of Gods have on it.

Ajay brings up an interesting point about the time travel, however, I'm not sure you can discount Movie 13 from the canon if you accept that GT is. Goku uses the Ryu-ken all throughout GT, and being that it seemingly comes to him during M13, does that not necessitate that M13 be canon? Or at least that GT cannot be canon without it?

Not really. It just means that Goku developed the attack sometime after the Buu Arc. I'm pretty sure Goku never says that the fight with Hirudegarn was the first time he ever used the attack.

You can discount whatever you want, really. But I will say I include Movie 13 in my favorite version of events for this reason.

By the Anime version, you mean the TV special, right?
Well, the manga in that case, since Trunks is directly SSJ from the start in the manga, unlike in the special.
I don't want to get off-topic, but Kamiccolo, Goku took a lot more of those cheap-teleporation off-guard hits than Gohan.
Gotenks also was completely fine, he had no sign of being tired, or else he would revert to base.

Goku also has shonen-bullshit induced plot armor. In the Freeza fight, Goku, at 3 million, took over a dozen hits from 50% Freeza, who was at 60 million, without being crippled or killed. I see no problem with him being able to do the same with Hirudegarn.
If I remember correctly, Hirudegarn also was injured when he fought Goku. Wasn't his tail blown off or something?

He could be using the invincible Kaioken x 10, when Freeza was beating him up.
Yes, he was injured. But that was only after Goku already returned to the battle as SSJ3.He even took a good amount of hits from 1st form Hildegarn in base.

He took an unguarded kick from Freeza while he was charging the Genki Dama. He definitely wasn't using the Kaio-Ken then.

Well for my canon:

Dragon Ball (manga)
Yo! Son Goku and Friends Return (maybe)
Battle of Gods

Outside of Battle of Gods and considering the Jump special, I don't consider any of the anime canon (not the episodes, the movies, or the specials; I go with the manga version of Trunks' origin).

I try to, for the most part, stick with what Toriyama's done. So, the original, of course. He basically wrote Battle of Gods after he was done with it, so that too. Just not sure about the Jump special, can't remember what was its deal.

Two universes:

Universe 1:

- All the original manga, and the idea of Neko Majin Z with Uub living with Gokuh some years after the end.
- 2008 Special
- Battle of Gods
- Dragon Ball Online

Universe 2:

- Anime series
- DBGT
- Toyble's DBAF

No disrespect to your canon but can Fan made work be consider canon? I understand that DB is loose canon but I think official material only counts in options for your canon.

Well, is my own canon, it isn't? I think Toyble's AF is a good continuation to GT, and is what I keep on my mind, for my universe where GT happens, AF happens, anyways, this is not my MAIN canon, my main canon is the first one, this is just something alternative...
