TAVAC still has the mono (partially stereo) masters of all the pieces that they used for actual TV episodes and movies. It's just that they don't own any functional reel-to-reel audio players themselves anymore and they were forced to use already-digitized pieces from DBZ BGM collection. I'm not sure about the original masters in Columbia's storage, though.

Ah, right... I remember reading that now. I keep forgetting the details surrounding the technical stuff.

Well atleast we have a certain hope left to acquire the dearly beloved music. That's a relief though! I could only hope for a full version of the Chiatzu's Violin Theme

M18xx series composed for 10-th DBZ Movie was released in stereo on:
Dragon Ball Z: ~Kiken na Futari! Super Senshi wa Nemurenai~ Music Collection (1994, Forte Music FMCC-5022)
As you said, on BGM Collection these pieces were in mono, which means that they sourced them from mono masters. Did TAVAC had reel-to-reel tape player in 2006? They dispose of it?

We are a little bit off topic, so...

I will definitely check new BGM, but I have no expectation. For me, Dragon Ball = Shunsuke Kikuchi.

We are a little bit off topic, so... I will definitely check new BGM, but I have no expectation. For me, Dragon Ball = Shunsuke Kikuchi.

But it's been so long.... hope those reels are well preserved.

Hope the Kai Buu Saga BGM gets released, I am eager for more Sumitomo anyways

Yuu Hayakawa borrowed their tapes and digitized them with Columbia's player.

That makes sense. Thanks for this information! I guess that mono masters from TAVAC were used because they were tagged with M-numbers (stereo masters at Columbia's Storage are untagged?). Finding, identifying and giving them proper M-number in booklet was much easier. Or maybe they were used by mistake?

Another thing that came to my mind: Maybe Forte Music took stereo masters for Movie 10 OST release?
