I think the GT villains like Super 17 and the Shadow Dragons could have been written better. Super 17 was just a bigger and stronger version of #17 and his whole saga was pointless.

I kinda did like the material with Super #17 and #18. The struggle within #17's human side clashing with Hell Fighter #17's pure machine mutant/android side.

I do agree about the One Star Dragon but he was still enjoyable enough.

I still to this day hate the change that Kaioshin got. He went from badass to pretty much nothing. I'm also upset that he lost his badass look as soon as he merged with Kibito.

Tenshinhan never really lost anything, he just... faded out of existence. Fantastic character and his battle vs. Cell is one of my favourite moments in the series. Real shame that he had no real part in the story after that.

I love Piccolo's transformation into a real father figure for Gohan and Goten/Trunks but at the same time, I miss him being a great warrior. Any time he shows up, I get shivers because it becomes such a rarity that you know something fantastic is about to happen. It's such a shame that they didn't do more with his character before his sacrifice in GT. I actually really like that moment in the series but because he has literally no screen time before that moment, the real oomph that that scene could have had is diminished.

As far as I know she never grew up in the manga. I always wanted her to show up again later in the series, the Android arc would have been appropriate...and speaking of the Android arc, I always liked #16 a lot, and wish he would have come back again.

No, she doesn't grow because she's a robot. She mainly showed up in Dragon Ball as a joke anyway. But it would have been interesting to see her in a "Z" era arc. I think that #18 deserved more attention in the Boo arc. It would have been nice to see her fight along with the rest.

Tenshinhan has Chao-zu, who is in himself a character that apart from his fight with Kuririn and his self-sacrifice against Nappa stands in the background.
Being in love with Chao-zu is pretty much everything he as that appeals to his personality.
With the removal of Chao-zu from the main storyline, the main part of Tenshinhan's personality was lost.
Also, Tenshinhan has no real origin to build upon. He is just an ex-assassin with a third eye and a mime as his closest friend.

Piccolo is the son of Katatz, one of the sole survivors from the Namekian apocalypse. Upon landing on Earth he found himself abandoned. Eventually he started to travel Earth and thus gained some evil in his heart.
With time he became acquainted with the Kami of Earth who was looking for a successor. But to be able to become the new Kami he had to cleanse his heart of evil.
Thus Piccolo Daimao was created and there started the struggle between the two polar opposites.
Piccolo Daimao spawns off in the midst of his death after fighting Goku, and Piccolo Jr. is born.
The two of them fight together in the mightiest Tenkaichi Budokai ever.
After 7 years Piccolo Jr. has to team up with Goku to defeat Raditz, and later takes Goku's son under his wing and eventually becomes good, being kind of a surrogate father to Gohan.

Vegeta had at least the same origins as Goku, and was pretty much his polar opposite. He was Goku's rival as from the SSJ transformation. Being a SSJ, it was not tough at all to keep him on.

Androids 17 and 18. We know 18 lurked around in the Buu arc, but still not much from her (we mentioned her already, I know). 17 was brought back to life since he was killed by Cell, but why is he just hidden in the Buu arc. Is he finding himself? Was he killed by Super Buu's Human Extinction? Don't 17 and 18 want to figure out who they were prior to being and Android? Do they just have no recollection? I understand 18, she started her new life with... Krillin. But I don't see how 17 can just roam about quietly.
