Seems to have better graphics than previous games but it's still soon to judge.
vince90x wrote:The raging blast 2 models with the shading of burst limit would be perfect... With the environments similar to Super DbZ
While RB2 had great graphics and models, they were very plasticky.
dbzfan7 wrote:The game also looks slower than raging blast which was slower than the tenkaichi games.
Raging Blast was just Tenkaichi with another title for the current-gen consoles, although even RB2 being better than RB1 it was still slightly slower than Tenkaichi 3. Hopefully Spike won't return to develop another game.

I have to be on dbboxkaifan's side on this. The BoZ models (well, Goku and Vegeta; Piccolo is inaccurate in the new game as well) look more accurate than the Raging Blast and Burst Limit ones. The faces on the Raging Blast characters seem a bit off, probably because of the eye shape.
I've always said that so far none of the games had a good grasp on Goku's face (since the Budokai era; in the games before that era you couldn't really see the faces

). This is the closest we ever got to an accurate face.

Regarding the music in this game, if they include Kikuchi's score that's superb but I'd also like the new soundtrack too. The BGM in the trailer sounded really catchy and interesting.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyK1_rEWBII
Basically giving both soundtracks like they've been doing in Japan since Raging Blast 1 (Toshiyuki/Kikuchi) and the rest (RB2 - Yamamoto/Kikuchi & UB - Takaki/Kikuchi), the more variety the better. ^_^
And if we get Kikuchi's score I wouldn't mind supporting Namco Bandai if they released Tenkaichi HD Collection because it'd feature the original music.

Couldn't care less if they added online play to Tenkaichi 3 HD or not because BoZ covers that area.

DRAGON BALL Z: BATTLE OF Z -- Now available for pre-order!
360 -
Zavvi /
TheHut
PS3 -
Zavvi /
TheHut
PSV -
Zavvi /
TheHut
The prices they have currently are just price-holders so no need to get worried (they'll decrease it later on), although there's something other than being able to pre-order that was great to know, the release date (15 November 2013)!
Team-Up.eu: Dragon Ball Z - Battle of Z on the right left says "Coming this Winter" so it's fitting.
If Zavvi/TheHut have better deals on BoZ then I'll purchase from them than Amazon.

This reminds me of dragon ball legends which I think is great, certainly a different approach for console games which is also great.
Gamestop has it for pre-order but lists 3/14/14 as a release date.

TheMightyOzaru wrote:The graphics are fine, more or less, I'm just saying the character models are void of a likeness to their anime counterparts in most cases. Yes the Oozarus look fine, but that's about all that shares resemblance to the anime.
Seriously? That's all that shares resemblance to the anime/manga? Are we looking at the same thing? I really don't want to overload this thread with screenshots of the anime and this game but in what ways do they not look the same? Goku looks like Goku; Vegeta like Vegeta; Ozaru like Ozaru(accurately sized too). I could keep going. Not looking like the anime and Manga would be like if they went off and did it in the stlye of the One Piece anime; or Death Note's; or Evolution. How does this not look like the anime? Seriously, break it down for me because I don't see it.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

I, uh, how? How in the heck do these character models resemble the anime in any way, I'll provide pictures to prove a point:

Which of these 2 looks closer:

Vegeta: "Funny... I seem to recall Kakarot being fed the same information right before he transformed; the distinct look on your faces when he went Super Saiyan didn't exactly inspire confidence. One does not predict or calculate power like ours."

Hasn't that been up for weeks now? I have had the game pre-ordered at Shopto for the last three weeks

I still think BoZ's models are closer. There's something on Spike's models that I makes them inaccurate, but I can't really explain it.

Nor do I. I hate to harp on about it but it's almost like a conspiracy against Spike. These games are perfectly enjoyable to me and have pretty graphics but for some reason a lot of people are extremely biased against them. It's strange.

I have nothing against Spike, I'm only saying I find their models' faces and hair to be slightly inaccurate to the original art and the new game's to be closer to it.

Well, Vegeta is a bad example. I absolutely loathe how his face looks in Raging Blast. It's annoying because in the Sparking! games, he was damn-near perfect. He just looks so off, it's so distracting. He looks a lot better in Ultimate Blast, but just looking at him annoys me.

I think I'll trust Namco Bandai saying it's coming this winter, so it is.
The source is

I wasn't aware but wow the Vita edition only costs £28 I'll try to jump in a deal like that for the 360.

Battle of Z looks much more accurate than Spike's version.
Is there a way that you can somehow explain why you think Spike's models are more precise?

How long do you guys think it will take b4 we get some info from the anime expo? And what do you guys think it will be about?
(front page)
While it had already been listed on the convention’s schedule for a little bit, today Namco-Bandai unveiled their plans for a special Dragon Ball-focused panel at Anime Expo taking place at the Los Angeles Convention Center over the upcoming July 4th weekend.
NAMCO BANDAI Games Inc. Presents – DRAGON BALL Z
On Saturday July 6 from 10:00AM – 11:00AM, NAMCO BANDAI Games will be holding a very special panel session (room LP1) on Dragon Ball Z, including a deeper look at their just announced brand new DRAGON BALL Z game, DRAGON BALL Z Battle of Z. The panel will be moderated by Urian Brown (SHONEN JUMP Alpha) and will feature Atsushi Minowa & Shuhei Sekii (Game Producers – DRAGON BALL Z Battle of Z), Christopher Sabat (DRAGON BALL Z voice actor) and Hisashi Sasaki (Former editor-in-chief of Weekly SHONEN JUMP). Exciting surprises and giveaways are planned!

I'm sure someone will be there to record it and upload it to YouTube before too long. The presentation only started about 45 minutes ago, so we just gotta be patient I guess.

If Namco Bandai could confirm that Battle of Z in EU/US is getting Shunsuke Kikuchi's soundtrack it'd be great. We know what Trevax said but it's always better to have a confirmation from Namco Bandai.
