Wow.. I'm litterally without words. This must be why noone else is commenting. They're all totally gobsmacked!

I really can't express how awesome King Kai and Goku in the gangsta low rider are. Man and some of that footage in those videos has more intense action than actual dbz.
Just gonna sit down and applaud.

Finally check this thread out again and I see this. The effort here is fantastic- I need to remember how to change my hotkeys (Darn laptops and their pre-sets) so I can actually attempt Mugen again and try this out! How far are you going with this?

Even beyond that Kaio's actually using his car, it's just so in character to the fighting games its emulating! The cameo win screens are gold.

I recommend getting a game pad, you can get one quite cheap. If you've got a bit more money to spend, get a fight pad, they're more expensive but good for PC and Xbox 360, they should work on PS3 too.

As for how far is this going, who knows? They're just doing what they feel like doing as long as they feel like it. Freeza is next as hinted at the end of the video. Maoji Vegeta is also in the works.

As a follower of these projects for a while I'm really looking foward to both Gohan and Freeza (Majin Vegeta can come later, I could say the same for SSJ Goku, but he was so diferent than normal that I didn't mind, I just want me an armour pad sprite set!).
Also, you guys planning to add a costum voice for Gohan too, or will he be Offical only like Goku was?

Gohan for now has the original and we havent searched for a voice actor yet, but he has plans for original voice acting.

Talking about voice acting here are a few samples from Freeza custom voice.

About majin vegeta, he actually has a whole slew of his own moves, he's more unique in gameplay than ssjgoku.

Why are we going for original voice acting? That Freeza just sounds like the Joker.

The Japanese cast sounds fantastic in this context and so far this has been a dream come true. Finally someone making a 2D fighting game based around skill in a modern era! Please don't ruin it.

Well, you can always change the voice file yourself if you don't like it. MUGEN is open sourced.

I'm aware, I'm just giving feedback towards someone's project that I imagine he would quite like to be played as a whole.

I just feel with that voice, it's not exactly appealing to anyone in the fan base nor does it match the character. Dub fans will complain it's not Chris Ayres or Linda Young and JPN fans will be upset it's not Nakao.

Really? I consider myself a part of the fan base and I quite like it. Also, both Iced and Balthazar are fans and I'm pretty sure they also like it, otherwise they wouldn't have used it. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean no one else does. You do not speak for the whole community.

The person who did the voice is a professional voice actor, Iced will be able to fill you in on that if he wants to. Having custom made sound bites means you have more liberty to be creative, using the stock ones means you are stuck with whatever has been done before.

Personally, I'm completely for creativity. And like I said, whoever isn't happy, can change the sound file themselves. They exist already, meaning, you have a choice. Having a choice is better than not having a choice.

I meant more along the lines of, I don't understand who it's trying to appeal to rather than 'no one will like it', I'm certainly not arrogant or stupid enough to speak like that.

I just personally feel, if you're creating something based around an existing product, it should at least make an attempt to match it.

Yes, I can change it if I want to and I have every intention to, that doesn't mean I can't express how I feel about the voice.

I don't think it matches it Freeza's character - simple as that.

Seemed like it.

They're creating something they enjoy, for free, the way they want it. They have full creative freedom and are using it as much as they want and can.

This is all you should have said.

To counter your argument, I despise the English voice acting, I do not enjoy it at all, it sounds lame, corny and forced to me, nothing sounds natural. I've bought DVDs and games anyway, because they give me the CHOICE to change for the Japanese voices instead. When you have a CHOICE, arguing about one of the choices you don't enjoy is a bit redundant.
