Meh, my expectations are low. All i want is Tapion playable, i miss him since the Tenkaichi times. They missed the opportunity with Ultimate Tenkaichi - Hirudegarn Boss Battle with no Tapion.

I have to say that Namco Bandai really sucks at advertising Dragon Ball games and this one had the potential to welcome new customers to join in but let's see what has NB done to market this game...

1) Release a trailer
2) Gameplay video (not even by Namco Bandai but by its fans)
3) Magazine scans

Seriously this is terrible, if they wanted to make this the best DBZ game of this generation they would've included guest characters of other Namco Bandai franchises, release a demo with online play and advertise the hell out of it everywhere.

In the long run they'd have been successful but as we can all see they're doing absolutely no god damn effort to publicise the game. Dammit Namco Bandai. :-(

Expectations are low again despite loving the idea of battling 8 players in one battle arena.

Huge mistake not having Tapion during this Boss Battle in Ultimate Blast as it would've been pretty cool and we'd get to hear him play the flute. Such a lovely tune.

Is it wrong that I kinda think/want this game to flop?

If it is then it's due to Namco Bandai's bad decisions. It was excellent from NB to bring in a new developer but they seem clueless what exactly to do with it and where to take its potential to the max.

I feel as if they need to bring in some dragonball fanatics to at least help develop the game. I think quite a few people on here would have a good grasp of what's expected and wanted, Especially since its fucking 2013. NB needs to get with the program.

The game wasn't even revealed a month ago, though. And it won't even be coming out until Winter, which could possibly (Though considering their contract, probably not) mean it won't be out until next year. They have plenty of time to kick in the marketing. Most games don't have commercials airing until a couple months before release. The Last of Us' first commercial aired the last of March, About 21/2 months before the game was released. And this game isn't set to appeal to near the same sized market. I'd say, if the game comes out in November, we shouldn't be seeing commercials, and a huge boost in ads until mid-September. Maybe October. It's not ideal, but they only have so much money for that kind of thing.

I thought Dimps did a great job when it came to the presentation. They seemed like legitimate fans of the show (especially true in Budokai 1).

Having a fan make something does not make it good. Hell James Wong said he is a big fan of Dragon Ball and we all know how DBE turn out  .

But the games have been fundamentally broken for some time now. They need to be fixed. Finally someone steps up to the plate, takes there time to put something together, and here are people wanting it to fail. Why, because of the perceived notion that the game is not going to have enough content(characters and costumes) and is going to play like 4 player tenkaichi based on one early video and a handful of images.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

I think people were getting tired of the Sparking gameplay by 2010. I think Spike made the right choice to do something different in 2011, but fans end up hating it.

Dear Namco Bandai:

You need to spend money to get money.

It really wasn't that different. It was just the Raging Blast games with a streamlined fighting system.

It's the result of people not specifying what they want.

It's almost like Spike said "You wanted us to do something about the 'overly complicated' gameplay. *shrugs*"

I'm not tired of Sparking yet to be honest. I'm just tired of Namco Bandai's poor decision making when making a Sparking styled game.

Lol, hope you're not serious. Can you imagine how broken that would be? He'd be a ridiculously small target to hit.
Oh, so it's ok to have the giant characters like Hirudegarn and the Oozarus, but small characters are too unbalanced? That is unbelievably sizeist. You should be ashamed.
Hahaha

Candy Vegetto would be fun to play as, not gonna lie.

I'm expecting the very basics when it comes to customized existing characters like moves, power up items, etc. Similar to RB2. I'm not expecting anything extraordinary from the customization honestly.

As far the appearance goes, it would be cool to equip characters with Halos, scouters, auras again like in past games but I'm worried whether or not those features will be omitted in their newest installment. Only time will tell.

Equipping characters with accessories like in Ultimate Butoden would be wonderful. X3 I know I'd have fun with it.
