How strong is Grey Buu?
Re: How strong is Grey Buu?
Piccolo and Co.'s reaction should suffice along with the half a dozen statements regarding his power beforehand. I don't think the author felt he needed a reaction for every single character to get his point across.
Fat, Evil, Good on the other hand, have zero reactions and zero suggestions major power changes have occurred.

Kid Boo didn't go all-out, either. He was a bit pissed at first, but it became clear Mr. Boo could do nothing to him. He even says as much after he landed a hit on him.

Mr Buu is strong enough for Kid Buu to need to get his head straight to deal with him. But eventually as he uses more of his power Mr Buu becomes easy for him. Mr Buu should be head and shoulders above Vegeta imo.

Going with that, after seeing Fat Buu power up every time he gets angry, does the author really need to provide a reaction when it happens again?Mjb1985 wrote:Piccolo and Co.'s reaction should suffice along with the half a dozen statements regarding his power beforehand. Why would this time be different? Where did all the dormant ki in Fat Buu go? It had to go somewhere.

I can agree with that. It could go either way though. I don't think the smoke emitted from Fat Buu for the first two power ups was anything like the ones during Mr. Satan.
So I would say a lot more smoke was emitted and the smoke emitted later wasn't significant.

I agree it can go either way. This way doesn't have Mr. Buu getting stronger by sitting around in Pure Buu's body though, so I like it more. And you can work it around to make it fit the various statements, so it works fine for me.Mjb1985 wrote:I can agree with that. It could go either way though. As for Gray Buu, though, Fat Buu is made of Pure Buu, South Kaioshin, and Dai Kaioshin. All of Fat Buu's evil ki (Pure Buu ki) went into Gray Buu, so he should be at least as powerful as Pure Buu. I say at least because he still has Kaioshin clothing, which indicates some Kaioshin power, but since we know that he is "Pure Evil" there can't be any Dai Kaioshin influence on him. Which implies that he may be stronger than Pure Buu.

Re: How strong is Grey Buu?
I wouldn't ever be able to agree with that. Although there is some anime filler that might back up your claim. For me,
Kid > Fat = Mr. Buu > Evil > Good
Is a simpler approach. Regarding Mr. Buu getting his old power back could be backed up by Vegeta's claims.
If I had to, I would keep Mr. Buu = Good and just cite differing levels of effort. I just prefer this way.
I don't think Good or Evil Buu were a threat to Gotenks.

Pure Evil Buu isn't a threat to Gotenks because he's stronger than Goku.

Out of curiosity though, what do you have happening with all that extra power that is in Fat Buu? It can't just disappear.

This is where our differences lie.
I don't see any correlation between Fat and Super. I consider them distant cousins, not identical twins that look differently.

Re: How strong is Grey Buu?
They're not twins or cousins. They're the same person.
Though Mr.Buu being stronger than Good Buu (presuambly because he took all of the Kaioshin power rather than just some of it) would at least explain why Super Buu reverted to Kid Buu instead of Evil Buu; the Buu they removed was different than the one that got absorbed, for whatever reason. I might go with that myself, but I prefer the "Kid Buu died when he absorbed Dai Kaioshin and was reborn when Super Buu was formed, becoming the base".

I do not agree. Imo they are completely different beings fundamentally. They share some genetic traits but are completely unique beings.

Re: How strong is Grey Buu?
I don't think Fat Buu has all the power of Daikaioshin and Southern Kaioshin in there. Daikaioshin actually weakened him so don't see his Ki being a part of his body. I see Fat Buu's full accessible power at 22,000,000,000, when he isn't angry. When he gets angry and splits, Kid Buu's power, the evil within Buu, increases Buu's power to 52,000,000,000. He then splits into Good Buu with his original BP of 22,000,000,000 and into Pure Evil Buu with a BP of 30,000,000,000.

Re: How strong is Grey Buu?
I think Good Buu being SK + DK is what's implied here. There's no reason Dai Kaioshin should weaken a pure good being, as his 'gentle heart' is what weakened the pure evil Kid Buu in the first place.
Maybe, as I've proposed, Grey Buu is a sickly and weaker version of Kid Buu because he's a hodge podge, as he's got vestigial Kaioshin ki inside him in addition to his normal Kid Buu ki, and when Good Buu was absorbed, that unusable ki (that would remain unusable in Super Buu) got transferred to Good Buu, along with the actually usable stuff, due to a certain rearrangement of the body that took place when Kid Buu was reborn. This would explain why Evil Buu appears to have some Kaioshin influence in him while Kid Buu doesn't, and why Kid Buu and Mr.Buu are stronger than Evil and Good Buu; because all of the ki is distributed as it should be. While I don't agree with it it seems to make more sense.
...god DAMN Gotenks ruins every power related thing in the Buu Saga.

Gotenks come close to ruining the Buu Arc itself. Can't stand the brat. Worst character in all of Dragon Ball.

If I were to make Good Buu SK + DK he would come out to be 40,000,000,000.... yeah, I don't think so. Daikaioshin weakened him so it took a lot of the usable Kaioshin Ki IMO.

Re: How strong is Grey Buu?
Why does SK have to be so freakishly strong? Why does Dai Kai? I know it's just filler, but the anime depicted him as a lot weaker than Kid Buu, and nothing in the manga contradicted this. I'd get if it disrupted your Buu fusion formula, but you don't even appear to have one anymore...If I were to make Good Buu SK + DK he would come out to be 40,000,000,000.... yeah, I don't think so. Daikaioshin weakened him so it took a lot of the usable Kaioshin Ki IMO.
And again, why would Dai Kaioshin weaken a purely good being? The only reason he weakened Kid Buu was because of his "gentle heart".

Re: How strong is Grey Buu?
He isn't freakishly strong. I have SK at 25,000,000,000 and I have DK at 15,000,000,000. If I weakened them it would affect how absorption works for my BPs.
EDIT: I guess I could just say The Kaioshin power is there but it would mean dropping Pure Buu's power within Buu to 12,000,000,000 after the negative influence, which I'm ok with.

I don't think South Kaioshin's boost can apply to the Fat Buu chain of Buu's. his power just isn't existent here imo.
