That image looks like the Kaio-ken Goku used on Vegeta in the game play footage from the expo. I think it does anyway. :P

There you go! LOL!!
You want what-if characters? Fine!
Every character in the game has Kaio-Ken and/or SSjGod since hardly anyone can tell the difference on a game. HAHAHAHA!!!!

Looks distinctive enough for me. Maybe less so in comparison to Super Saiyan God, but it certainly doesn't look like the Kaioken.

They glow red. It looks like Kaioken. People only confuse this Genki Mode with SSJ God because of the orange aura.
Vegeta: "Funny... I seem to recall Kakarot being fed the same information right before he transformed; the distinct look on your faces when he went Super Saiyan didn't exactly inspire confidence. One does not predict or calculate power like ours."

It looks different enough from Kaioken, since the hair remains black and the aura is different.

Although, it's hardly new lol. Attack of the Saiyans had "Sparking" mode, where it really did look like Kaioken :P EDIT: Not counting the what-ifs in Supersonic Warriors, where characters like Kuririn actually did get Kaioken

I'm wondering how Bandai will sell its online play mode because Dragon Ball isn't one of the top fighting games played online and most people would rather just go with SF/TK/DOA or etc.

SFxTK allows 4 players on the screen (Scramble Battle) though it's 2D not 3D.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

I think that by making the game online co-op only and then in turn making co-op a big part of the game they are banking on more online play just from that. I don't know if that's a good move, it might just backfire but I think they are expecting this to push more players online.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

Cool, we can change the character outfits' colors. I'm so gonna do manga versions of them (and we do see a manga-Piccolo there in the video, but with pink muscles)
Hope they add actually different costumes as well though.
There's something we haven't seen yet (and it's worrying me): actual Ki-charging. There's that red/orange aura that showed up when Goku was fighting Vegeta once but that was probably Kaioken or that Genki mode...

I'm not sure we can change them as we see fit like in a character creation mode, it looks more like prerecorded colors you select.
But if they include the manga colors (and especially the full-color edition colors) and perhaps Kanzenban ones, it'll be good.

What we can see with Krilin and Goku could be promising, but we'll see in due time if we can really play with "yellowish-muscles Piccolo" and "red-skin Kaio Shin"... and "white flames" Super Saiyan auras. :)
Wouldn't get my hopes too high for now.

I don' think you can choose the colors you want. The characters all have 4 diiferent costumes which all are color swaps so that the teammates can wear the same colors.

Manga-colors for the kame gi (yellow-orange and a brighter blue) would be awesome.

It would be one of the most awesome things they could give us.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I dunno...I don't want to be the fly in the soup, the stick in the mud, the...naysayer of other variety puns...but as cool as getting alternate colorings (especially ones that are clear choices from the manga's colored pages and such) is, I'd still much rather see alternate outfits. Alternate colorings just seems cheap in comparison.

Despite my griping, I did enjoy the 'red-tint Vegeta' in BT3 though...hmm.

By the looks of it they don't allow whichever colour we want, and that's a shame. I'd prefer to customise them myself than choose from a stock of colours already made up.

From the looks of it there are only four or five colours what a shame.
"There are many types of monsters that scare me: Monsters who cause troubles without showing themselves, monsters who abduct children, monsters who devour dreams, monsters who suck blood… and then, monsters who tell nothing but lies. Lying monsters are a real nuisance: They are much more cunning than others: They pose as humans even though they have no understanding of the human heart; they eat even though they’ve never experienced hunger; they study even though they have no interest in academics; they seek friendship even though they do not know how to love. If I were to encounter such monsters, I would likely be eaten by them… because in truth, I am that monster."

Yeah, I'm going to say it right now that with a more colorful background, these graphics look a lot better than Raging Blast 2 and UT. They kind of remind me of Borderlands 2...and that is a very good thing. As for the color thing. I wonder if there will still be different costumes on top of this. I kind of like that you can tweak the costumes so they look more like there manga counterpart; it's a nice touch. But even I would like to see at least one other costume variant. If they make it so you can tweak each costume's color scheme, I think they will win the hearts of everyone.

Why does this game look even slower than the raging blast series. RB series was getting to the borderline slow department and this is worse.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
