Piccolo's glance at Gohan during Gero's dodging rant was one of those little things that made me just crack up uncontrollably.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Oh, crap. I didn't realize my release was going to be competing with TeamFourStar's release today! I'm so screwed. :P

But awesome episode as always. Love the senzu bean running gag, and Vegeta's flashback was even better and more in character than in the series.

Welcome to my world! Kind of glad my current GTR works are taking a little longer than expected.

Ah man, no lyrics for Saiyan Blood? :( Speaking of which, I'm glad to see a little more use of the Kikuchi score. The Yamamoto score for Kai is so bland it's starting to get hard to sit through. Using some of his Super Butouden music would be nice. :D

Also, gotta love that Lani Scream. Definitely the highlight of the episode.

That was one epic episode. Nice handling of Goku's health issues, and Vegeta was just. Too. SWEET!

Pure... unadulterated... AWESOME!

I did like the mix of Kikuchi's score in here, and that was a nice use of the clip from "Saiyan Blood". As far as Faulconer's score, there are only three bits I somewhat like from that score to begin with - Vegeta's "Hell's Bells" theme, Perfect Cell's leitmotif, and Super Buu's bit. And Funimation totally messed up by misusing "Cell Returns" - a perfect end-of-episode clip, but instead they use the crappy usual end-of-episode-music and don't use "Returns" until after the title card of the next episode! But, that's just me going off on a tangent.

Really? I loved that ending, thought it was one of the best parts.

Anyway, awesome episode. Vegeta had so many great lines. :P

I didn't really understand what was going on with the Piccolo staring at Gohan scene.

Gero said something like "Why is dodging a sub routine!? It's not complicated!". THEN Piccolo glared at Gohan. Probably because Gohan got him killed because of his refusal to DOOOOOOODDDDGE.

edit: Ninja'd.

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.

Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

I second this! His Super Butouden music could easily fit into Abridged and it would be a nice change of pace.

That ending scene was the dumbest thing. I'm sorry, that just wasn't funny. I already thought the whole "Krillin randomly yells Senzu Bean" was kind of tired out by the 3rd time when he threw it at Yamcha, but then they have to point out the whole "I was doing this the whole time, but I'm not doing it for you now." The rest of the episode was great though. Probably one of the bests so far.

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

Maybe Krillin was just getting revenge for being forced to play Slender: The Arrival.

I don't remember this part all that well; are they skipping Piccolo stomping 20 and going straight to 20 releasing 17 and 18?

I do have an honest question regarding the last alternate takes, if in case they were going with the alternate version of the "Muffin Button".

How would they have handle Goku's managing to Escape Namek?

New TFS Episode Good as Always.
