Ideas for new DBZ game on the PS4/Xbox one
Anything goes what do you think the new games should be like do you think we need a new tenchaichi revamp or do you think we need something new
Personally I think the new dbz games need to capture a more cinematic and evenly balanced fighting games
The main problem with the newer games is the lack of inovation in the fighting with too much button mashing and lackluster graphics

Re: Ideas for new DBZ game on the PS4/Xbox one
Hopefully Namco Bandai will not revive Tenkaichi because that's been done to death (Tenkaichi + RB) and Spike seems to be out of the picture (dammit, that took long enough) so just RPG, Action Adventure, or fighting alike Zenkai Battle Royale (guessing Battle of Z 2?).
I'd hope for the Wii U that Namco Bandai gave it a classic Dragon Ball game, Dragon Ball GT or Dragon Ball Heroes. Dragon Ball Z's pretty much everywhere else, and technically the so-called best is playable on Wii U, i.e, Tenkaichi 3.

It's too soon to talk about next gen DBZ games. We won't see one until 2015 at least. I think we will likely see a sequel to Battle of Z on the Xbox One and PS4 depending how well the game turns out.

I know its still kind of early to think of new DBZ games but still its fun to think of something new and I personally think now what we need is a tenchaichi 1-3 hd collection as well as namco getting off their buts to give us back budokai 2

Budokai HD Collection is done, and regarding Tenkaichi HD Collection this is what Namco Bandai Europe said on YouTube "Not scheduled" so it's not coming, at least not this year and probably not the next.spaceballs wrote:I know its still kind of early to think of new DBZ games but still its fun to think of something new and I personally think now what we need is a tenchaichi 1-3 hd collection as well as namco getting off their buts to give us back budokai 2
Why would you want Tenkaichi 1 anyway? The game was like a beta and pretty shitty, but the music's from Budokai so at least this one didn't have a terrible soundtrack (neither did Tenkaichi 2, only T3 did).
Tenkaichi 2 & 3 running on PCSX2 emulator gain much better results than an HD remaster, of course not everyone has a PC with the requirements to play PS2 games in HD.

People really want Budokai 2 so badly in the collection when it was always the least popular game in the trilogy. It's just funny that people want it so badly when they are often the ones that hate it.

Re: Ideas for new DBZ game on the PS4/Xbox one
That's only true to a certain degree. The God of War games had their (pre-rendered, CG) cutscenes re-rendered at an HD resolution. An emulator can't do anything other than play those back at the original resolution except upscale them. The upcoming Final Fantasy X / X2 HD remake has new texture work being done. The Metal Gear Solid HD remakes had their GUIs entirely redone at HD resolution.dbboxkaifan wrote:Tenkaichi 2 & 3 running on PCSX2 emulator gain much better results than an HD remaster, of course not everyone has a PC with the requirements to play PS2 games in HD.
Emulators can't do that for you unless you start doing mods to the experience like texture pack additions on your own, and then you're no longer talking about a turn-key solution to the "problem".
A proper HD remaster would always win out over an emulator over-compensating.

Re: Ideas for new DBZ game on the PS4/Xbox one
Bring back the cutscenes and title cards from Budokai 1.
"Create your own Adventure!" mode, where you create your own story with whatever characters you wish and what difficulty they are. A set many pre-recorded narrator lines are placed in which explain the story (Goku has defeated Cell and all seemed to be at peace... but then Burter and Jeice show up back for revenge and they're stronger than ever!)
Being able to fight more than one enemy at the same time like in Sagas.
Have the lip movements actually at least look like the anime and not like the previous games where it looks like they're just chewing their food.
A large character list like BT3, each with their own move-sets.

Re: Ideas for new DBZ game on the PS4/Xbox one
I know that tenkaichi 1 was kind of shitty but I still want it just for nostalgia sake because even though these games were a little tedious and kind of irritating at times they are still very strong entries in the dbz game vault that just made us feel that we were in the thick of the fights and I personally enjoyed the mayhem from the gameplay and cutscenes and if done right and HD collection would be fun for us die hard fansdbboxkaifan wrote:Budokai HD Collection is done, and regarding Tenkaichi HD Collection this is what Namco Bandai Europe said on YouTube "Not scheduled" so it's not coming, at least not this year and probably not the next.spaceballs wrote:I know its still kind of early to think of new DBZ games but still its fun to think of something new and I personally think now what we need is a tenchaichi 1-3 hd collection as well as namco getting off their buts to give us back budokai 2

Tenkaichi 3 running on a PCSX2 at any setting on any computer cannot compare to what the PS4/XB1 can do.dbboxkaifan wrote:spaceballs wrote:Tenkaichi 2 & 3 running on PCSX2 emulator gain much better results than an HD remaster, of course not everyone has a PC with the requirements to play PS2 games in HD.
PCSX2 can only look so good, no matter how many filters, or widescreen hacks you apply.

The next-gen consoles although they'll be graphically much better than a 360/PS3 they aren't really that impressive, sure they have nicer graphics but it's already been done on PC so the hype for me doesn't exist, because it's all about the games.Rostir wrote:Tenkaichi 3 running on a PCSX2 at any setting on any computer cannot compare to what the PS4/XB1 can do.

Battlefield 3 on PC is what Battlefield 4 will be on PS4/Xbone, the console gamers just get what's been done already in years.
Consoles are graphically inferior and that's how it'll always be, 'cause if you're in for the graphics then that's a shame, consoles wouldn't suit you.

In this case you're correct. A new Dragon Ball game would obviously look better than Tenkaichi 3 HD, that's for sure.Rostir wrote:But we weren't talking about Battlefield 3, we were talking about Tenkaichi 3 running on PCSX2.

Dream scenario for me would be a deep, 2D fighting game developed by Arc System Works (Guilty Gear, Persona 4 Arena, BlazBlue). They do have experience with the Dragon Ball franchise as they are the developers of Supersonic Warriors 1&2.

Supersonic warriors 1 wasn't that good but 2 was, but I'm all for a deep 2D fighter.rickysha wrote:Dream scenario for me would be a deep, 2D fighting game developed by Arc System Works (Guilty Gear, Persona 4 Arena, BlazBlue). A new LOG game.
A Mario Party like game with lots of Dragonball mini games.

Re: Ideas for new DBZ game on the PS4/Xbox one
As for fighting games, I think there is something these days that took me away from playing DBZ games.
It is dificult for me to explain but it is quite simple. It is what brings me to play Naruto and now Saint Seiya too.
It is movement. It is actually free movement that includes an non fixed camera angle.
err.. Tenkaichi games comes close to that, the first one if not.
Ultimate Tenkaichi had something that comes close to that too, the melee range gameplay.
Well none of them are as good as a Naruto game.
And I really expect to see one because, different from those franchises, DBZ has the flight element.
So the best game would bring gameplay to such quality. But of course, it better not leave us using only SSJ2 young Gohan,
it must keep the whole series in the package, and the elements we all love, the worldmap with at least budokai 3 exploration,
rpg elements, custom specials, dramatic beams, lots of costumes ...

This. Having playing lots of BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend recently made me really think of a DBZ game in that style, and hey, the FGC would not trash DBZ games again.rickysha wrote:Dream scenario for me would be a deep, 2D fighting game developed by Arc System Works (Guilty Gear, Persona 4 Arena, BlazBlue). That or Super DBZ 2 (Seriously, I can't get enough of that game, where's my PSN release?)
