2013 Anime Weekend Atlanta

Post by Kakarot88 » Thu Aug 01, 2013 10:05 pm

Chris Sabat (US Vegeta, Piccolo, Yamcha and a slew of others) is going to be at AWA this year along with Vic Mignogna (US Broly)...I think I might go, anybody else going?

Actually, I'll be there as well. I'm running a DragonBall panel at the con that weekend: "DragonBall Stuff You've Never Seen", where I will discussing and showing short clips from obscure DragonBall stuff most US audiences are not familiar with, such as the Goku's Traffic Safety/Fire Brigade specials, the Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans (+ the remake), the JSAT Special, the Telebikko special, crazy commercials, the Big Green dub, game show footage, and more. I will also be plugging Kanzenshuu and it's forum for those who want to learn more about that stuff.

Once they finalize what time my panel is, I'll let you guys know.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

I'm also going. I missed Vic last year, so I'm hoping to actually talk to him this time around, and I'll try to see Chris aswell. I hope someone keeps up the time honored tradition of screaming "KAKAROT!" at the top of their lungs during Vic's panel.

That is awesome! I will definitely be there for that! By any chance do you know when Sabat will be doing autographs or have a hunch...I wanna add his to the ones I got on that poster from Animazement.

Already met them both and got their signatures along with Sean Schemmel, Chris Canson, and Ryo Horikawa.

I'll see your Chris Cason (is that who you meant and not "Chris Canson", and Ryo Horikawa and raise you:
•Masako Nozawa (Goku, Gohan, Goten, Bardock, Turles),
•Toshio Furukawa (Piccolo),
•Ryuusei Nakao (Freeza),
•Yûko Minaguchi (Videl/Pan),
•Sean Schemmel (US Goku),
•Kyle Hebert (US Narrator, Guiymao, Gogan),
•Kara Edwards (US Videl and Goten)

All I need is to add Chris Sabat to that Chozenshuu dust cover and wall scroll and my signatures will essentially be complete. I too would love to have Ryo Horikawa on there but not sure if that is going to happen again...the Kurririns would be awesome too but I won't hold my breath

I already knew about that from the Animazement thread. I filmed Horikawa doing a shoutout for Kanzenshuu while you, Mike, and a bunch of other's went to animazement. I missed Sonny Strait, J. Michael Tatum, and Chris Ayers.

Your message from Horikawa is awesome! I wish I had been more involved with this website and podcast I'd have loved to get Nozawa to give a plug. Tip of the hat to you sir.

I didn't know Sonny Strait went to AWA it'd be cool to meet him he's such a prominent actor in just about every episode of Z plus Kuririn is one of my favorites.

Oh no I mean he went to a convention a few years ago in my area and I missed it. I don't know about AWA.

Aw man, that's excellent news! Between Animazement, Otakon, and AWA, the East coast conventions are becoming a great opportunity to see the Japanese guests. Definitely looking forward to meeting Furukawa, Sabat, and Mignogna this year.

On that note, I'd like to invite you all to come see my DragonBall panel at AWA this year:

"DragonBall: Stuff You've Never Seen." The panel is a look at some of the lesser-known DragonBall material that hasn't been English dubbed or aired on CN/Nick. This includes OVAs/live-action/manga/commercials/video games/cameos/weird dubs/etc... Basically I've strived to make it a fun panel for newbies, casual fans, and hardcore fans. So I do hope folks will come check it out! As of now, it'll be on Sun the 29th, at 10:00am to 11:30am, in CGC Room 105.

Wouldn't miss it! Super excited to see some new, well new to me, Dragon Ball stuff!

I'm glad everyone enjoyed themselves. It was cool to meet more Kanzenshuu folks in person! The DragonBall panel seemed to go over well; there was a good mix of newbies, casual, and hardcore fans in the audience. I'd love to be part of the con next year and run some more DB-related panels.

Also, I spent way too much money on DBZ merchandise this AWA. *pics coming soon* :P
