Official Unofficial Power Level Discussion Thread
Re: The Official Unofficial Power Levels Thread
Exactly. All you need to know is that Super Buu and Ssj3 Gotenks are close in power. Trying to take major feats from suppressed powers is a lost cause here.
Re: The Official Unofficial Power Levels Thread
Was there any thing that stated Fat Boo was at 1 billion. Malik is apparently having his power levels low because of this.
D7 or D2 says they were on par at SSJ3. So are we going to follow that.Mjb1985 wrote:Exactly. All you need to know is that Super Buu and Ssj3 Gotenks are close in power. Trying to take major feats from suppressed powers is a lost cause here.

Re: The Official Unofficial Power Levels Thread
Super Buu is never stated or implied to be suppressed. And it would be weird if he arbitrarily chose to tank base Gotenks and not Super Gotenks.

Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Gotenks was suppressed. He was only a Super Saiyan not his full power Ssj3.

Re: The Official Unofficial Power Levels Thread
That's different from being suppressed. And going by feats, all that does is point to SS3 being a small boost for Gotenks.Mjb1985 wrote:Gotenks was suppressed. He was only a Super Saiyan not his full power Ssj3.

Re: The Official Unofficial Power Levels Thread
I don't see it that way. He said he got super super stronger and dude it's Super Saiyan 3. The guy doesn't write stories with power levels in mind.
Re: The Official Unofficial Power Levels Thread
I doubt Toriyama thought to reduce the SSJ3 or any SSJ form for Gotenks.Mjb1985 wrote:I don't see it that way. He said he got super super stronger and dude it's Super Saiyan 3. The guy doesn't write stories with power levels in mind.

Re: The Official Unofficial Power Levels Thread
Small is a relative term. Even with a small boost, Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks can one shot SS Gotenks, so he did get super duper stronger.Mjb1985 wrote:I don't see it that way. He said he got super super stronger and dude it's Super Saiyan 3. The guy doesn't write stories with power levels in mind.
That's my point. Take away the power level goggles and it doesn't look like SS Gotenks is THAT much weaker than Buu.
Base Gotenks: gets tanked by Buu, bores Buu.
SS Gotenks: Buu can't tank him, damages Buu with physical attacks, nearly kills him with ki attacks, still is at a big disadvantage.
SS3 Gotenks: Buu's superior, has a clear upper hand in straight combat, was going to win.
Going by feats, I definitely wouldn't put SS Gotenks mutli folds below Buu like base Gotenks.

Re: The Official Unofficial Power Levels Thread
Super Boo seems to be messing around. He isn't even angered until Gotenks calls him a name. Boo's body has always been easily blown apart or torn up. After the Super Ghost attack he has a drink as if he was never harmed at all. Boo isn't a tank, he doesn't even have to be as he can regenerate from anything. He was pretty much riding out the fight to let the boy show him some special techniques. He is pretty much just getting entertainment. In base Gotenks didn't even show him anything special as punches and kicks he can see from anybody and he's weak. The head butt thing seems to be a joke. Boo isn't even surprised that he can dodge anything either. He's just having a good time. Goku hurts Oozaru Vegeta eye with a weak blast even though it's the last of his energy. There's gotta be more than a 10x difference for that.

Yeah... not even gonna delve into them. Wasn't that a joke list though?

Re: The Official Unofficial Power Levels Thread
Yea I don't think about the story with any sort of power levels in my mind. When you start doing that you run into trouble imo. It's best to just take the story as is and not worry about power levels at all.
