Various SSJ5 Designs.
I know this qualifies as fan art, but I thought having a topic devoted to a certain form, character etc would be interesting. So basically post the various types of designs you have seen of SSJ5. Also, please provide credit, such as the artist who drew it if you know or at the very least provide a link to the page you found the image. Ill start it off with my own design of SSJ5 drawn by Maniaxoi on deviantart.

Young Dijii's SSJ5 is the only one I've ever liked.

It's cool looking but hate that the users skin changes. Unless that was just a coloring issue with the artist.AjayLikesGaming wrote:

Doesn't almost every SSJ5 look like this? Besides the yellow pants.AjayLikesGaming wrote:

Re: Various SSJ5 Designs.
Heres why SSJ5 tends to have darker skin. Manga is drawn in black and white. I mean in the DBZ manga SSJ Goku's hair and skin are exactly the same color. If Young Jijii kept the skin color the same when a Saiyan went SSJ5, the hair and skin would blend and would look real weird to see. The darker skin provides a contrast and a easier to tell difference.

Re: Various SSJ5 Designs.
Personally, I've never been fond of most of the 'Super Saiyan 5' designs I see out there, since they seem a little too...I'unno, out there. They just don't seem to fit very well to me, and seem far too over-the-top.
That said though, I've always imagined the form to look something like this, if it were to exist.

Yeah, I know - I dunno how this art got started being tossed around as 'Super Saiyan God' before the real design came out. *shrug* Anyway, the key to SS4's design to me seems to be the Saiyan's base form (even looking at their hair, it's like a bushier version of their base form's hair style) and the Oozaru form. So if you were to go to a level beyond that, then my money would be on it looking like a combination of Super Saiyan and Oozaru - er, in a humanoid body, that is, unlike the golden oozaru.
This picture still isn't quite how I picture it in my head though - I'm seeing something where a bushier version of the Saiyan's Super Saiyan hair appears, rather than just a golden version of their SS4 hair. This is pretty much the closest to how I picture it though.

Although I think SSJ should've ended at 2, I'm always open to seeing designs for SSJ5. And really the only one that makes any sense is basically SSJ4 but gold. SSJ3 and SSJ4 are already quite arbitrary enough at that point. Might as well introduce some consistency in the mix.

Re: Various SSJ5 Designs.
I kinda get where your coming from. I follow a pattern with unofficial forms. For me SSJ5 will have traits of SSJ2, the hair would become more upright and rigid. Other than that, the hair and fur go to a darker shade of their SSJ4 colors, the muscles beef up abit along the lines of SSJ grade 2, and the canine teeth become slightly more fang like. Saying that, SSJ6 would resemble SSJ3, which ill show just once in here for reference.

Anyway, back to posting the various designs of SSJ5. Remember to provide credit.

Re: Various SSJ5 Designs.

The one on the right is a Super Saiyan 5 design. Could someone modify it so the fur is the same color as the hair? I'd like to see how it'd look.
btw, the OP's Super Saiyan 5 looks horrible IMO. It doesn't look any different from SS4.

I would prefer if they didn't, unless they draw it again on their own.Dr. Machismo wrote:Could someone modify it so the fur is the same color as the hair? I'd like to see how it'd look.

You're the original artist, but it's really not a big deal. You don't have to look at it if you don't want to.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:I would prefer if they didn't, unless they draw it again on their own.Dr. Machismo wrote:Could someone modify it so the fur is the same color as the hair? Re: Various SSJ5 Designs.
You say my version of SSJ5 is terrible because it barley looks different from SSJ4? Its not supposed to be super flamboyant and grand looking. I made it subtle on purpose, just like the changes from SSJ1 to SSJ2 are. If I wanted something grand looking id have used the original white hair and fur design but I despise it so I made my own. Besides the design has had overwhelmingly positive feedback on deviantart. Look up Maniaxoi's gallery and read the comments.

You can still tell the difference between SS1 and SS2. I really don't see the difference between SS4 and your SS5. I'd like to see how Goku with your SS5 design. And your design having positive feedback is irrevelant.KentalSSJ6 wrote:You say my version of SSJ5 is terrible because it barley looks different from SSJ4? It's not about looking at it or not. I don't want my art to be edited or manipulated, and doing so without the artist's permission is extremely disrespectful. If someone wants to make it blond on blond, they need to redraw it with their own hand. End of story.Dr. Machismo wrote: You're the original artist, but it's really not a big deal. Whether or not it's respectful or disrespectful is subjective. People's artwork gets edited and manipulated all the time. It's really not a big deal if it happens to you. Just don't look at it if you don't like it.

Re: Various SSJ5 Designs.
The closest thing I could find would be the creator of DBNA's Ascended Super Saiyan form in terms of appearance.

Color wise his fur would become either a darker red like SSJ4 Vegeta or a tone of brown similar to SSJ4 Gogeta. Closest I could find to the color scheme would be this

The reason you dont see much difference is because my character has real short hair by Saiyan standards. Here ill show you his forms from 1 to 5 and youll likely see why.

So basically your SS5 just has spikier hair than SS4? That's not too bad.

As I said, I'm going for subtlety. I dont want a leap like how SSJ3 did from 2. The hair becomes spikier and rigid, the hair and fur darken, the muscles beef up a little bit like SSJ Grade 2 and the canine teeth extend abit just like how they do in Oozaru form.

Just because it happens doesn't mean it's an okay thing, ya know. That's like saying something such as "some people cheat on tests, so it's totally okay for me to cheat too," or even, "people steal, so it must be okay to."This is more than just being "subjectively" respectful or disrespectful. If an artist DOESN'T want his works to be altered, as a decent human being with common sense, you just don't do it. More like, if a person doesn't want something done to him, you shouldn't forcibly do it anyways.Dr. Machismo wrote:TheDevilsCorpse wrote: It's not about looking at it or not. It's subjective whether it's good or bad, and whether it's as bad as cheating and stealing. And an artist wanting his work unaltered isn't the same thing as a person not wanting something done to him.HG-Project wrote: Just because it happens doesn't mean it's an okay thing, ya know. "It's not really a big deal if it happens to you, just don't look at it if you don't like it"
even from a bystander's point of view, that sounded really insensitive. Are you saying that if that happened to other people, it would be a bigger deal? And that if he didn't look, he is going be okay with it?
If people want to alter artwork, they can do it. If it bothers you, don't look at it. It's not a crime to alter artwork in this case.
