What? Did you even read the scans I posted above? Gohan and Gotenks aren't even thought of as a valid alternative. Both Goku AND Vegeta where brought back to life just to fight him. Goku suggest doing such for BOTH Gotenks and Gohan to help fight - there was no definitive statement that they were capable of beating him.

How aren't they thought as a valid way?
Herms's translation says FIGHT, not HELP.

Goku cannot beat Super Buu, stated by Goku.
Goku can stalemate Kid Buu and defeat him with teamwork and help, stated and shown by Goku, Vegeta.

Super Buu is evil dominant, with Kid Buu's power and *gasp* extra power due to absorptions!
Fat Buu is good dominant, with Kid Buu's power sealed up due to Dai Kaioshin's gentle heart and good influence.
Kid Buu is absorptionless and under his own power.
