Son Goku vs Sun Wukong

I know next to nothing about Sun Wukong, only that he's freaking powerful in the original story. How well he fares against Goku? though it would make for an interesting thread Pitting Goku against his Inspiration.

Sun Wukong has a lot of interesting powers, he can immobilize people with little effort and make an army in seconds. I guess it'd depend on what era of Dragon Ball you'd be looking at, I think Sun Wukong v. Young Adult Goku (a la DBZ Movie 1) would make an interesting fight!

Sun Wukong may not be as "flashy" as Goku, but the guy cannot be hurt. At all. He was basically Buddha-level at the end of Journey to the West. Meaning he's omnipotent. Either way you look at it, Goku's fucked. Hell, the guy leaped across the universe in a single bound.

Defeated the Jade Emperor (Who could rearrange the Milky Way)

His pole (His version of the power pole), a shape-shifting stave of metal which was reported to weigh more than 13,000 pounds.

Can freeze people who aren't powerful.

Teleportation (Sort of like instant transmission)

There's many more after that, but that's the gist of it.

Maybe Sun Wukong is stronger than Superman with all that XDD. That's freaking awesome, i gotta start reading the book!

Anyways it's interesting with him being this powerful, DBM has him easily lose to Tenshinhan.

Even Salgir never read JTTW, igorant on the subject, didn't think the feats applied to DBZ, or didn't want Vegetto to not be the hero of story.

It would have been cool if there was a villain based off Sun Wukong in both design and abilities. Perhaps that should have been Bills. I'm not sure if it'll work now, though.

The Super Saiyan God's design being based off of Sun Wukong would have been cool, but I feel that would be too similar to Super Saiyan 4.

From what I know, it was basically just going to be another Super Saiyan transformation. Muscular, super spiky hair, golden, just with a cape. I don't think it was ever giong to based off of Sun Wukong.

I'm half way through volume 2 of 4 of Journey to the West, and at this point the fighting style seems very much like the 23rd TB/early Saiyan arc style, but on the other hand, Sun defeated the whole of Heaven single-handedly and with apparent ease in the first eight chapters, being stopped only by Buddha himself, and even then nobody was able to execute him and he had to be sealed away, so he seems like he must have actually been more powerful than Saiyan arc Goku even then. Sun Wukong can pretty much do anything using his magic, he can turn himself giant, turn into a bug, or create a thousand copies of himself, but his strength and skill with his cudgel alone enable him to win the majority of battles with ease. From what I've heard, he's only going to get more powerful too. On top of that, Wukong possesses great intelligence and cunning, while Goku has none.

As powerful as Dragon Ball characters are, Sun Wukong, and probably other people from Journey to the West, are in a whole higher league.

It's a fun novel but if you read the books you'll know Goku would not win a fight especially considering his opponent is immortal.

This does beg the question how long would the fight be? If dead Goku was fighting versus him being alive? Even if Wukong is immortal he would still tire out eventually even if his life is ever lasting, even superman tires out after awhile.

Goku could last maybe a couple hours. Superman has very high stamina due to the sun, but if you blitz him and just demolish him with tons of blows, then Superman will be hurt like any normal human. And I think it's safe to say Sun would be able to blitz him.

If Wukong can jump the universe it's safe to say he could jump to a red star well if he knew where it is, but again like Goku he wouldn't fight someone that want's to protect the planet well unless he saw him as too much of a threat even if he was doing the right thing.

I wonder if Wukong could escape the phantom zone?
