At least the end credits show who voiced on the show, although not that they actually show WHO voiced WHO though :L

I bought it from Rightstuf for $60 USDeledoremassis02 wrote:Some good points. The main problem for me is the interlace issue. But, I'm not sure how noticeable it is on a TV. Overall it doesn't look bad at all. I hope amazon drops the price a bit soon..
I was not paying $100 USD for this.

I just traded in $40 worth of older DVD's and Blu Ray so it wont be too expensive..but if the price could drop a bit more (it was down to $60 when it was listed) that would be awesome lol

I hear that with trading stuff in. Amazon originally had it listed for that $59.99 USD price tag.
Perhaps you can get them to price match?

Lots of cartoons do that, either due to small cast, and lots of characters, or they just do it. Pup Named Scooby Doo was one of the ones that credited biggest stars before everyone else. Heck, Naruto's Toonami credits while at first listed everybody directly, after the Zabuza arc, would just directly credit Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura, then additional voices. Even for the eps Sasuke and Sakura didn't appear in.Gonstead wrote:At least the end credits show who voiced on the show, although not that they actually show WHO voiced WHO though :L

Hey, I just wanna make a correction to something I said in that dissection I did. It seems those Goku bumpers (don't go away\welcome back) aren't JUST in the Tree of Might movie. They're also in the later episodes on this set.

Yeah, I saw them on the last three episodes of Disc 4. I believe that's the last Saiyan Arc episode and the first two Namek Arc ones.

I don't believe Gohan peeing on Krillin in Movie 1 was cut on Australian Cartoon Network. At least not completely, there was definitely enough footage there to tell what just happened.

IIRC, Australian CN didn't cover up nude Gohan in movie three either.

When was this? Since the last airing I recorded back from 2009 of the TV version had nude Gohan covered up.KingofWisdom wrote:IIRC, Australian CN didn't cover up nude Gohan in movie three either.
Did he say "Hey kids..." before saying "Don't go away" in the first half? Because I have a recording (posted on here earlier) that has it.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:Hey, I just wanna make a correction to something I said in that dissection I did. Never really was into the original Ocean dub, and I'm perfectly content with my Dragonboxes, so I don't think I'll be getting this. The only thing that would make me consider getting this is if it's a limited release, especially if it goes into Dbox Vol. 2 type of rare. And it wouldn't even be for how much I can sell it for, it would be just to know that I own another rare DBZ item.

Release those Westwood/Ocean dubs made for the UK and Canada, then you'll have a potential customer in me, because this have never had a home release before.
I know this probably won't ever happen, but the dub collector in me can dare to dream, eh?

It is officially monikered a "limited edition", yes?Daimakku wrote:Never really was into the original Ocean dub, and I'm perfectly content with my Dragonboxes, so I don't think I'll be getting this. It might become rare at some point, then. That being said, it probably won't be nearly as absurdly collectible as Dragon Box 2. The only full-on "exclusive" this has over the Pioneer R1s (As in, not counting minor things like eyecatchs, NEPs, and original episode title cards) is the TV version Tree of Might, which is a good bit more niche than, say, the first R1 DVD box set of the Namek arc in it's original aspect ratio and decent video quality vs. the Orange Bricks. The Pioneer R1s will keep this in check, because people who can't get "Rock the Dragon" will probably search for them as an alternative.
Re: Listing for "Ocean Dub"-specific DBZ: "Rock the Dragon"
Well mine is due to arrive next week. I'm thinking of watching it all then continuing with the original Ginyu Assault DVD before transitioning into the Orange Bricks
Re: Listing for "Ocean Dub"-specific DBZ: "Rock the Dragon"
This past weekend, I went to San Japan and got to meet Scott McNeil in person, and I asked him to sign my copy of the Rock The Dragon Edition. Right before he signed it, he wanted to check it out, and thought it was cool. I also asked him to do a shout out to the Kanzenshuu team in his Piccolo voice as well when I was recording him signing it.

Re: Listing for "Ocean Dub"-specific DBZ: "Rock the Dragon"
Yeah I'm doing the same thing. I got mine today and they're great. I'm particularly impressed with how well the voice acting holds up even today. But yeah, my preferred English run of Dragon Ball is basically the Ocean Episodes until "Ginyu Assault", then "Kai" for everything up until the Android Arc, then the Orange Bricks for the rest of the show. I love my Dragon Boxes, but I'm really glad to have my favourite dub of the show.90sDBZ wrote:Well mine is due to arrive next week.
