This one just bothers me because one includes the word "his." Like I said, nitpicky.BPG wrote:Piccolo, without his heavy clothing: 408
Son Goku, without heavy clothing: 416
The guide lists Goku's Kamehameha as 924 and rising, but I feel that this is not technically correct. Raditz's statement is that it was rising and got to 924, but he never says it kept going. It's true that Goku spent more time in the air after that when Raditz took notice of Piccolo charging his slightly more powerful Makankosappo, but I guess I'm just trying to be politically correct.BPG wrote:Son Goku, firing a Kamehameha: 924 and rising
I debated Chibi Mystic Gohan about this way back in the day and I supported the exact opposite stance, but maybe he left his mark on me, eh? So while I believe that Goku's Kamehameha did surpass 924, I think it would be more correct to say "Son Goku, while charging the Kamehameha: 924" just like it says for Piccolo directly below. In fact, I think it's wrong to say "Goku, firing a Kamehameha: 924 and rising."
For this one I just want to point out something pretty cool that helped me solidify believing that Gohan was the 981 and Kuririn was the 1,083: When Kuririn notices that Nappa and Vegeta are heading towards 2 other of the larger ki sources, he wonders if it's either Tenshinhan and Chaozu or Piccolo and Gohan. It's interesting that he picked out a duo where one guy has always been stronger than himself and one has always been weaker. Just my two cents on a bit of dialogue I feel often goes overlooked.BPG wrote:In the manga, it’s not clear just which number goes with which character (though Piccolo, as the one standing in the middle, is presumably 1,220).
No qualm with this one, but since some of the battle powers are built on some conjecture (Recoom, Jheese and Butta being between 30,000 and 60,000 for example) I feel it'd be justified to label: "Tenshinhan: over 1,200," especially given the quote that goes along with it: "Vegeta: “So that guy’s battle power surpasses that. A simple calculation.”" There's also an example of Zarbon and Dodoria being labeled as below 24,000 based on being compared to Vegeta.BPG wrote:Saibaiman: 1,200
This one irks me since the quote says "about 5,000." Sometimes this is taken into consideration, like Vegeta being listed as "barely 18,000" and the youthful Namekians being "about 1,000", but other times it goes overlooked.BPG wrote:Son Goku: 5,000
Same as above, it seems strange to me to include the "about" or "barely" in some cases and not others.BPG wrote:Son Gohan and Kuririn: 1,500
I'm all for saying "about" here, but that seems to contradict Kewi saying "We… we’re supposed to be equal in strength…!!" I think it would be a good idea to include:BPG wrote:Kewi: about 18,000
Chapter: 247 (DBZ 53), P15.4
Context: talking about Vegeta and Kui fighting
Zarbon (?): “Their abilities should be more or less equal, so no matter what happens Vegeta won’t get away unharmed.”
Like before, I think "close to 30,000" would be more accurate but I can understand this one given the Daizenshuu, I suppose.BPG wrote:Vegeta, after recovering from the fight with Zarbon: 30,000
The quote directly above this is: "My battle power is 530,000. But of course, I don’t intend to fight you at full power, so you can relax…" We also know that Freeza can control his battle power, so just like the guide does with Ginyu and Nail, I think it should say: "Freeza, in his first form, at full power: 530,000."BPG wrote:Freeza, in his first form: 530,000
Same with Freeza, 23,000 seems to be Ginyu-Goku's full power.BPG wrote:Ginyu, in Goku’s body: 23,000
The summary lists Freeza passing through his 85% and 90%, but for the sake of being comprehensive I think the quotes and panel should be included in the reference box. Kinda like how the guide kept up with Goku using the Kaio-ken from 90,000 to 180,000 without skipping all the counting in-between.BPG wrote:Tankōbon Volume 27

Context: Freeza’s still powering up
Freeza: “85%...90…”

Edit: Just browsed through the anime's battle power guide as well. I'm curious about this one:
The "less than" doesn't sound correct based on the quote right above it stating "The battle ability of all four of them together is 1,507." That sounds like their combined powers equals 1,507 to me.BPG wrote:Tenshinhan, Kuririn, Yamcha, and Chiaotzu (combined): less than 1,507
