I'm not quite sure if this is new (sorry if it isn't), but Saiyan Island has posted some story-mode footage:

Since Picoolo is alive in the Nappa fight. Does that mean they went to Namek for Chaozu?

Cool!!! I'm loving the fluidity of the game! The graphics look really good to me. The Kamehamha is sort of fast, but that's a good thing. No desire to watch a 10 second cinematic or charge every time I want to do it. Wonder how quick Freeza's laser beams will be.

U blink and you missed it. The graphics do look better than what I've seen before. Through I think the Special Beam canon should be chargeable and the Genki Dami should have your team donate energy

The fighting looks like such a mess.

The fighting, in a nutshell is pretty much a altered console port of Zenkai Battle Royal. So far I've hade a meh tone with this game. I'm not very fond of the constant team battles. I'm all for what ifs and story altering events but id like them to keep one on one fights precisely one on one. I dont know how they are gonna explain Goku going SSJ when we clearly see Krillin alive and well beside him.

And, like Zenkai, this game appears to have no deep melee combo system, just random 2 hit melee combos that knock the opponent across the screen.

Ill give them credit for trying to do something relatively new with the fighting system..but why not just bring Zenkai to the states? At the least it could work as a online only downloadable title.

In all honestly its hard to bring something new to DBZ games besides characters. I mean the biggest leap in DBZ games I can think of was going from the relative 2D style fighting of the Budokai games to the more open and 3D style combat of the Tenkaichi games. Personally I wish some developer would just pick up Treevax/Nostal's Raging Blast 3 project and just make it, down to the tiniest detail.

Id like how the gameplay would be a fusion of the gameplay styles, going to a 2D budokai style combat system when really close then going back to something like the Tenkaichi games at a distance.

That or just get the team behind the Ninja Storm games to make a damn DBZ game. I mean good god have you played Ninja Storm 3? The cinematics and cinematic attacks are just gorgeous.

Yeah but UT was just boiled down to 3 or so hits then a rock-paper-scissors game. I liked in Budokai 3 you could dodge the attack by just tapping x instead of just blocking by holding it down. We can still have the dodges, parries, and counters from Tenkaichi 1-3 and Raging Blast 1-2, its just the transition from close to far just needs to be handled properly.

A question to you, and probably to everyone in this thread.

Was brand new information ever this scarce or withheld(atleast until it was very close to release) for the other console DBZ games? Basically was advertising for previous Z games similar to Battle of Z?

I'm sure by big update they mean more screens that don't show us anything new  .

Honestly it's not that different from previous games. I think part of the reason the information feels so scarce is because the European Dragonball Facebook Page created so much premature hype. Technically we've been talking about this game since April, but it was only officially announced in June. Since then there has only been one convention they've attended and they intentionally did this because showcasing at E3 and Comic-Con has probably become to costly for them considering the profits they get from these games. That being said, usually there has been more info by Comic-Con(which has come and gone). However, it's not like those venues have been were the information was released, more often than not, the info comes out of V-Jump. J-star Victory Versus seems to be taking up all of that magazines ad space though.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?
