How is their "no doubt anymore" that this game will be terrible? It hasn't even come out yet. It would be best just to save save off on judgement until you play it yourself. Hell, I played and enjoyed Ultimate Tenkaichi and have no regrets in buying it.Yeah, the combat system sucked, but it had a lot going for it. And it is by no means the greatest Dragon Ball game, but its not the worst either. And this game looks even better that UT did when I first found out about it.

UT was redeemed to me though because of the nice Hero Mode, Boss Battles (First game with original Meta Cooler) and especially Gogeta SSJ4/Omega Shenron.Linkthoy wrote:How is their "no doubt anymore" that this game will be terrible? The game comes out in two and three months from now and I would imagine we would get more info by now. It looks like they haven't shown up anything new for a while now which worries me.

Is it rumored that the game won't be released this year. Only in 2014.Hellspawn28 wrote:The game comes out in two and three months from now and I would imagine we would get more info by now. It looks like they haven't shown up anything new for a while now which worries me.

No proof that it comes out in 2014 other than Amazon's place holder date. I'm hoping for new info at the Tokyo Game Show since I lost interest with this game when they stop showing off new stuff.

hulkty, serious question, dude. Are you capable of making a post that isn't either rude, unnecessary or nonsensical?
I'm still puzzled as to what the producer meant by the game focusing "primarily" on the Saiyan/Freeza arcs. Does this mean they are the only eras in story mode, or that the rest of the series takes a backseat to this portion of the story a la GT in PS2 generation games? Or maybe the characters from the Cell arc on are unlocked via standalone what-if's involving said characters? It wouldn't be the first time we've seen this.

Yeah, hulk if u don't like the game then stop bashing it until u actually try it,they didn't give us a lot of info right now so we cannot judge.Thanos wrote:hulkty, serious question, dude. Are you capable of making a post that isn't either rude, unnecessary or nonsensical?

Thanos, i don't think they mean these are the only eras since we got a screenshots which have Androids/SSJ Trunks+SSJ2 Gohan/Buu and they could do like DBZ warriors vs Cell Jr and some stuff, but for them focusing primarily in it i don't know, we just have to wait and see

The game will be a fun change like DBZ:Sagas but i don't think it will make that big success like bt3/b3.

We know Fat Buu is in the game, so we will likely get the Buu saga. Besides it will be wired and stupid to have SSjG Goku and only go up to the Freeza saga.

I remember being so hyped for UT. I thought the qte's may just be like B3 and not be too big of a deal, but then the game came out and well....sucked.TheGmGoken wrote:UB LOOKED BADASS...then it came out.Linkthoy wrote:How is their "no doubt anymore" that this game will be terrible? Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Man, every time I visit this topic all I see is a bunch of unjustified negativity about this game. We've seen barely anything yet and the release date is months away and people are already drawing premature conclusions. It's pretty sad really how easily a fanbase will instantly find faults to complain about and nitpick about stuff all day. This game looks like it could be pretty good. It probably won't be at Budokai 3 level of awesomeness but should still be a massive improvement over UT.
And they've expressed that they plan on doing sequels to this so things can only get better. It looks like we'll finally have a consistent DBZ game series to get every year again for the first time since the BT Trilogy. Personally I've gotten sick of them trying so many different things these past few years so I welcome their plan for sequels.
First there was the Budokai trilogy, then the Tenkaichi Trilogy and now hopefully BoZ will give us a new epic trilogy and make DBZ games awesome again. If you don't count the Budokai HD Collection then I'd say Infinite World was the last great DBZ game. I'm hoping BoZ changes that.

I wouldn't say all the criticisms are unjustified. I haven't played the game so my analysis may not hold true, but from what I've seen the gameplay looks pretty shallow. It's also disappointing that I won't get to play this with my local friends. Online play for a fighting game should be secondary to the local multiplier as far as I'm concerned. I also have to say, if the story really does only go to Freeza, I will be severely disappointed. I'm still teetering on the edge of buying this game, but at this point it won't take much for me to not purchase this game.

You say things like Infinite World being the last great DBZ game. That was 2008. This is 2013. So by your own admission, we haven't had a great DBZ game in five years. That's five years of disappointment. Why suddenly get all excited and pin all your hopes on this one game? New developer? Sure. I guess. That's definitely one reason. But that's still five years of disappointment which I think far more heavily outweighs the sudden desire to get all excited again.
You say things like trilogies that brought awesome games. OK, sure. And this may get sequels, sure. But this isn't the third game in a series. It's the first game in a theoretical series if anyone even buys it. That means you're going to be stuck again with all the pitfalls of starting over from scratch (limited roster, unrefined/unbalanced fighting system, etc.).

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
If I had to guess, I don't think this game will come out holiday of this year. I'm guessing we'll see it pop up around Febuary-March. There is a lot of competition this year, GTA, GT6, NEW CONSOLES and the games that come with them; If they were to release this game around the same time it would easily be left in the dust even by people who would usually want to buy it. By Febuary/March, there will be a bit of a dry spell. All of the hype from the holiday games will slowly die down and there will be a small window before anything new comes back up again. Plus, gift cards will still be unused and there is a chance that money might go towards this.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?
Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
You're misunderstanding me. I never said I had a problem with people hating the last few games. Those games are out and people have had good exposure to them and have every right to criticise them. I actually thought RB1 and 2 were good but not great.VegettoEX wrote:From everything you just said, you agree with the criticism without knowing that you do.90sDBZ wrote:Man, every time I visit this topic all I see is a bunch of unjustified negativity about this game. My reason for having hope for this game is that it's something very different. The last few games have just been watered down versions of the old PS2 titles. Spike have been releasing the games for the past 5 years or so and their old formula got pretty tired after a while. It's not fair to condemn this game because of Spike's recent shortcomings. Spike have nothing to do with this game and the makers of this had nothing to do with any of the previous games so I think it deserves a fresh perspective.
I'm not saying the game will definitely be great. I'm just saying that just because someone has hated the last few games it doesn't give them a reason to mindlessly bash this new game when there is still plenty to be revealed about it. Spike are out of the equation now so it's just not fair for their games to effect the success of this game that has nothing to do with them.
As for the release date I think it will come out this year. For one thing a few sites listed the UK Release for November. There is lots of competition this year but that's also been the case for many other years and it never prevented them from getting a DBZ game out for Christmas before. Not to mention that DBZ games sell to a specific audience and will mostly have a difference audience than the likes of GTA5 and those other games.

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
I think we could have it out by November 2013. I'm not worry about games like GTA5, GT6 and Pokemon X & Y over shadowing it since those games are more mainstream and they are going to make more money no matter what. These games are very niche seeing that only people who are fans of the show are the ones who end up buying these games. Sorry but DBZ games lost their mainstream appeal years ago since most casual people on the web say that they stop playing DBZ games after Budokai 3.
