Star Wars vs. Dragon Ball Z

Post by OmegaRockman » Sat Aug 17, 2013 11:51 pm

I saw this linked on The Dao of Dragon Ball's Facebook page earlier today and didn't see a topic for it here, so in case this hasn't been shared yet, here it is. As a fan of both Dragon Ball and Star Wars, this looks pretty effing amazing, especially for a fan trailer!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iUlKiIG3fk

They say that there are no plans to make a full movie, but I would love to see them do it. I like how they aren't actually using characters from either of the respective series. Judging from the trailer, they seem to have this story take place a long time after both of the series' main timelines, focusing on a different generation of heroes. I love the idea! It's a great way to have a fanmade crossover without messing with the main series' continuity too much. What do you guys think?

Depends on how Ki would effect the ships of Star Wars. Either its just gonna bounce off their shields like how some enemy fire does, or its gonna obliterate the ship. I could imagine Goku destroying a whole fleet with relative ease. I will admit though, having Goku in a beam struggle with the Death Star would be awesome.

If it came down to say, Goku VS a Jedi or a Sith, its tricky. I love both DBZ and Star Wars but I cant see someone like Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader able to handle Goku, even with the force. I mean, how much of the force would be needed to affect Goku? I dont see pushing or pulling affecting him much and we all know lightning isnt gonna do jack squat against him as hes tanked that as a mere 12 year old. I just dont see Star Wars coming out on top against the warriors of DBZ.

"The Force" is basically Chaozu's power. And that didn't work once the enemies were powerful enough.

The power to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force.

Star Wars is stronger then what people give it for. Darth Nihilus is pretty much Star Wars version of Death since he can drain the life of anything near by him and he is nearly impossible to kill since his spirit is the only thing that inhabits his armor. Anyways, the video that was posted was pretty cool.

That may be but is the power to destroy a star insignificant to the power of the Force  ?

Well then we must ask the question, what era of Star Wars is facing DBZ? If its anything but the Old Republic or Expanded Universe era, Star Wars is pretty screwed. The Clone Wars era in my opinion would get wrecked by the DBZ warriors. Goku can do what the Death Star can do with one hand.

Fate of the Jedi Luke Skywalker would turn Goku into a drooling idiot, twist him into a pretzel, and toss him into the sun.
Movie Luke would be blitzed before he could pull out his lightsaber.

Only Darth Sidious has a real chance against DBZ warriors. Maybe Revan could beat Goku, just because Goku is an idiot. That's pretty much it.

The Exile was able to kill him easily. Darth Nihilus was not strong to begin with, anyway. I'd put Nihilus top 10 of the greatest Sith Lord. Maybe a little bit below, but yeah.

I believe Exile couldn't do shit to Nihilus until Visas Maar did something to him.

Nihilus annihilated her entire world before she became his apprentice. I seriously doubt she caused Nihilus' downfall.

I'm saying that Exile couldn't do shit to Nihilus before Visas Maar did something special which helped Exile defeat Nihilus. I finished KOTOR2 a day ago.
Wookieepedia wrote:During his confrontation with the Exile, Marr, and Mandalore, Nihilus attempted to absorb Surik's Force energy, but failed and exhausted himself because of Surik's ability to draw on the Force energy of those around her. They engaged in a brief duel, with the Dark Lord seemingly too strong to defeat. Marr entered a trance and disrupted her link with her former Master, undermining his connection to the Force through their Force bond. This weakened Nihilus enough that the trio was able to kill him.

Anakin could probably solo everyone up to Vegeta(saiyan saga) and If Vader's quote is true then really strong Jedi and Sith are planet busters.

As a fan of Star Wars and obviously Dragon Ball, that was really neat to see.
