To me, the battle against nappa with happy sounding music is way, way worse.

It was a mess. I mean, it's nice that the pacing is much better, but the novelty kind of dries out. You're still seeing the same old animation, and the whole music debacle was just....yeah. >>; The Japanese cast don't sound as great as they used to. Though, the improved English dub is nice.

That doesn't sound like happy music. It's not dire, but definitely not light and sunshiney.

There was a lack of a plan but I don't think that it lacked direction. It's way more coherent than the Buu arc in terms of the villain and his transformations. I look at it as escalation.

I`ve recently watched a few episodes in French dub, and while the voices were great, it was very nostalgic to hear Goku and others in voices i`ve grew up with, that music, I'm sorry, but music placement ruin Kai for me, and I'm glad to hear that Buu Saga will be getting new soundtrack, i feel really sorry for anyone who missed original Part 1-4 FUNI release and fans of foreign dubs, that have to watch it with this abomination

Kai has pretty much become my de-facto version of Z to go to--so much in fact, my desire to watch the original anime is nearly null and void at this point(and I say this as a person who owns all the Funi Dragonboxs). When it comes to Z, I feel as if Kai has spoiled me beyond the point of no return. A great and accurate dub, most of the filler cut from the show, and great sound quality. The only real draw Z really had for me was Z's Kikuchi placement(given the HORRIBLE replacement score Toei shat out), but considering I've remedied that myself at this point with Music Revival Selection(shameless plug)--owning Z has more to do with being a fan than actually caring about the original show itself so much.

Though having said that, I'll probably still pony up to watch the full version of the Boo saga before Kai Boo starts coming out--just so I can have a better idea of what they end up cutting/editing down.
