So, the Super Saiyan aura is white, while the Super Saiyan 2 aura is yellow with yellow sparks... Now I wonder what color is the aura of Super Saiyan Grade 2, Grade 3, Full Power, and 3.

Re: DBZ portion of Manga to be in full color?!
^No, I don't think the Super Saiyan 2 and 3 have any trace of yellow at all in the end.
Look at that shots of Vegeta and Goku and all on the same kind of pages: every character has the same kind of yellow or red or purple surrounding aura which is not part of the original pictures.
I think the yellow surrounding thing was added for the cut renders on those pages. They sure look like it, the lightnings on Super Saiyan 2 Gohan are plain white right until the black border, but the lightnings are considered as a continuation of Gohan's render and therefore surrounded in the same way beyond the original black outline, like all other characters on those pages.

^Ah, then you're right, it seems. It would have seemed otherwise judging by the Chozenshuu pages, but the video's here as a proof.
But I wonder if it's really just the Super Saiyan 2 aura that's gold or if the regular Super Saiyan aura turns gold as well from the Cell arc. Hmm...

My guess is that Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan Grade 2, Super Saiyan Grade 3, and Super Saiyan Full Power will remain white, while Super Saiyan 2 & Super Saiyan 3 will turn yellow. Maybe Super Saiyan Full Power will get a yellow aura as well.

So how many of these full-color volumes are digitally available now? Are these volume purchasable from America or does it take a Japanese credit card? I'd really love to get my hands on them, but only in digital format.
Re: DBZ portion of Manga to be in full color?!
The Cell arc is coming out, per the main website. I'd like to think you can buy these from anywhere, unless it's the Amazon Kindle versions.

Could you link me to the appropriate website(s)? I tried via YouTube tutorial to set up a Japanese iTunes account to purchase the set with an American credit card but it didn't yield anything. My preference is the Japanese version anyway, and this will be infinitely cheaper than buying it one chapter at a time through VIZ, which I've already jumped ship off of.B wrote:The Cell arc is coming out, per the main website. A Japanese iTunes account requires either a Japanese credit card or a Japanese gift card. It won't work with a card registered to an address elsewhere.Tyro wrote:Could you link me to the appropriate website(s)? The various Japanese book retailers all seem to carry them in their online shop, but as per the norm, they seem to be tied to that outlet's dedicated reader: Kindle for Amazon, iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch for iOS, etc. If you search for "ドラゴンボール カラー" under e-books, they should come up. There are 27 volumes released so far (corresponding roughly, but not precisely, to the first 27 tankōbon volumes). A further eight are scheduled for release on 04 September, bringing the series (precisely) to the end of tankōbon 35.

The idea was to somehow get money onto a Japanese giftcard and use a real address in Japan, because a digital purchase doesn't care about physical location. But no dice.SaiyaJedi wrote:A Japanese iTunes account requires either a Japanese credit card or a Japanese gift card. It won't work with a card registered to an address elsewhere.
Sorry- are you saying it's possible for me, an American, to purchase through Japan's bookstores the digital manga? If so, I'm afraid I don't even know where I could begin looking. Can you provide a link or point me in the right direction? Or were you just saying that Japan's retailers will sell to Japanese customers via Kindle, iDevice, etc?SaiyaJedi wrote:The various Japanese book retailers all seem to carry them in their online shop, but as per the norm, they seem to be tied to that outlet's dedicated reader: Kindle for Amazon, iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch for iOS, etc. If you search for "ドラゴンボール カラー" under e-books, they should come up. I too am interested in picking up a colored digital volume, while limited to my American equipage. And speaking of which, Julian, were you able to find a listing of exactly which chapters are included in each volume (as they seemingly differ from the tankoubon). I've been able to make some solid estimates based on the content summaries of these volumes (available on a lot of the aforementioned retail sites), but nothing concrete. In particular, I'm interested in picking up the colored version of DB chapter 081, to compare with previous releases.

Re: DBZ portion of Manga to be in full color?!
Before I moved to Japan, I was able to cheat the iTunes Store by giving myself a Japanese free email address, using my host family's physical address from when I studied abroad, and relying on gift cards purchased online and shipped to the US. I now have a Japanese credit card and a permanent Japanese address (if I'm living outside the country) at my father-in-law's house, which simplifies things somewhat.SSj_Rambo wrote:I too am interested in picking up a colored digital volume, while limited to my American equipage. Based on what I've observed through the few volumes I've purchased, the preview pages from Mangabroadcast and elsewhere are always from the first chapter in the book, so you can probably use that as your baseline. The chapter you seek is in Red Ribbon vol. 3, although the volume itself starts and ends later than volume 7.
EDIT: And here's Super Saiyan 3 (with aura), along with Pure Buu, from the most recent chapter on "Jump LIVE!":

Re: DBZ portion of Manga to be in full color?!
Those pictures definately prove that the gold is back for both Super Saiyan 2 and Super Saiyan 3.
I wonder if they've done it for the regular Super Saiyan too from the Cell arc, because that would explain it: they'd think they've gone too far from the anime for the audience and make all Super Saiyan auras golden after Freezer.
Otherwise, it's a bit of a weird choice to have regular Super Saiyan pure white and then the gold of "non-Super Saiyans" regular warriors being back for more powerful forms.
But I would like that despite the weirdness of the decision, because that would still make more panels with Super Saiyans having white flames in many situations.
I'm not a fan of the "normal gold" for Super Saiyan forms, I prefered the pure white flames shown during the Freezer arc and I wished they had stuck with that, but it's okay: I've loved every choice they made so far, so it's fine if there's ultimately one of their choices I don't really like.

Oh god yes! I always wondered if the scene of him biting Buu was actually in the manga. Made my day.

Re: DBZ portion of Manga to be in full color?!
Well, Super Saiyan you can find in the print edition of the Full Color Comics, since they've done through Freeza. I do have one shot of Trunks in his bulked-up form, but it's when he's already been defeated by Cell, so I'm not sure whether they intend that to be his "powered-up" aura.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Is there any Super Saiyan or any Super Saiyan Grade 2/3 Julian?

I'm asking if there are Super Saiyan pictures from Cell & Boo arcs. I know that it's white in Freeza arc, but I'm wondering if they changed it to yellow after that, since SS2 & SS3 have yellow aura.SaiyaJedi wrote:Well, Super Saiyan you can find in the print edition of the Full Color Comics, since they've done through Freeza. Could you post the links to the previews here? Does any one know when the Japanese physical releases of the Cell and Buu arcs are coming out?
I know the digital chapters are now ahead of the physical release... but I REALLY want the physical copies.
Any info would be much appreciated.
THank you all,
