All of GT's oversights/inconsistencies/plotholes

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

All of GT's oversights/inconsistencies/plotholes

Post by Dr. Machismo » Sat Aug 24, 2013 1:07 pm

Wondered what all of them were. State them here.

I know Gohan turning Super Saiyan instead of his pure/Ultimate forms, Cell absorbing Goku, Vegeta being the stronger than Gohan at the time Baby attacked Earth, Goku surviving the Negative Karma Ball, what exactly happened to Goku at the end and dead villains not being able to die again.

A lot of the supposed ones are listed here: http://dbzf.co.uk/topic/8383390/1/

And a lot of those have been explained.

I think we could go on forever if we listed them all done. Some on the top of my head that I can think of:

- Cell and Freeza are immortal in Hell when the dead are supposed to be gone forever if the die again. Since GT flows the anime and not the manga, Goku said that everyone on the Grand Kai Planet will be gone forever if Kid Buu blew it up.

- Bebi state that the Saiyajin were not originally from Planet Plant when King Kai said earlier in DBZ that Saiyajin and Tsufurujin both lived on the same Planet together.

- How come Pilaf was able to find the Black Star Dragon Balls and no one else couldn't? Also how did he knew about them when no one else other then Mr. Poo and King Kai?

- How did Myuu and Gero was able to create a new #17 in Hell? Was it done by magic or some type of technology.

This has been asked a handful of times. Heck I asked this twice  . That aside, GT doesn't have as many plot holes as people like to think there are, at least from the anime's perspective.
Vegeta: "Funny... I seem to recall Kakarot being fed the same information right before he transformed; the distinct look on your faces when he went Super Saiyan didn't exactly inspire confidence. One does not predict or calculate power like ours."

DB and DBZ had plot holes but they are nowhere as bad as the ones in GT. Toei really made Goku into a jobber since he can take on Super 17 as a normal SSj, but Ubb can't. Ubb after fusing with Buu is stronger then SSj3 Goku seeing that he almost killed Bebi Vegeta at his strongest.

What are the explanations to the ones I've listed?
Villains not being able to die, Cell absorbing Goku, and Goku surviving the NKB are the only ones I'd say are actual problems. The others are personal beliefs IMO.
TheGmGoken wrote:Trunks sensing Android 17 and comparing it to 18's.
True.
Vegeta's power jmping all over the place
It was pretty consistent to me.
The muscle mass of Saiyans. They can't pick up buildings
Wasn't it a whole city?
SSJ4 GOku being weaker than GTBase Goku
Isn't this really just a Toei thing in general? Shirtless Base Goku always outperforms when he shouldn't.
Hell characters
Again, that's a Toei thing. Z was guilty of it too.
Hellspawn28 wrote:DB and DBZ had plot holes but they are nowhere as bad as the ones in GT.
I think people just focus on the ones in GT because it's easy and less people will step up to defend.

I don't think Oob was anywhere close to beating Vegeta-Baby.

Episode 33
Time: 10m5s
Context: Baby is holding back Oob's chocolate ray
Baby: "I'm through playing around now!"
Note: In the dub, Baby just says it's Oob's bedtime.

Well, IMO- Gohan is shown to still be able to turn Super Saiyan in BoG- for all we know in GT he just preferred to use it instead, Vegeta could have trained harder than Gohan did and got stronger than him again like at the beginning of the Boo arc, Goku's fate at the end of GT isn't a plot-hole, it's up for intepretation.
It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.

Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

I don't see how this is a plot hole. Planet Plant had only Tsufruians originally, then the Saiyans came, and both races lived on the same planet. In DBZ, Kaio never said that the Saiyans are from Planet Plant/Vegeta.

These are not plot holes.

Oob was suppressed when he attacked Super #17. After he powered-up, it was too late: Super #17 had decided to fuck them at that point.
He was also fucking around with SS Goku.

Kid Goku pushed a mountain/big Rock. You're telling me by DBGT he can't lift a building. Hell since DBGT goes by the anime GOku as a SSJ2 at Z pushed inside of a Planet. Also SSJ4 Vegeta could't hold up a SMALL piece of the building.
When did that happen?

It is a joke as seen Base Goku does better than SSJ4 Goku at a lot of occasions.

Sure why not? Goku wasn't using his ki when lifting it.

Did Goku even use Ki to push the mountain? Nope. With all that gravity training, weights in otherworld, and hell even all zenkais. And you're telling he can't handle a building by now. Not buying it at ALL

This is bullshit, Goku was powered-up because of the Genki Dama. But you said that this happened all the time after Baby. Is this anywhere else?
