Favorite fighter in any/all DBZ games?
What is everyone's favorite fighter to play as in the DBZ fighting games? Mine would have to be either Cell, Freeza, or Piccolo. I guess if i had to pick one out of those characters, it would be Cell.

Vegeta: He's got the best combos by far.

"DragonBall Z 3"- Burdock because he's got one of the most unique ultimate move in the whole game.
"DragonBall Z 2"- Yamhan (Tiencha) because the what-if characters in this game are sweet and Yamhan is one of my favs with combining his ultimate move with Rogafufuken & Volleyball Fist
"DragonBall Z Buku Togeki"- Kuririn because he probably has one of the best what-if story in this game (alongside Freeza & Cell
) plus many others ). It was good to see a human take the spotlight for once.

Well my favorite is Cell because he is my favorite villain in DBZ. He is just pure badass and has some of the best moves in the game (including combo's). His japanese voice over is damn sexy as well!
Freeza is my second favorite villain in DBZ, but he is the best villain in the series (does that make sense?). He has some great combo's as well.
Piccolo has always been my second favorite Z fighter (next to son goku of corse). He just has great technique, skill, and wisdom as a fighter. He to (like Freeza and Cell) has some great combo's.
I guess I like playing as those characters because they are my favorites from DBZ.

A good aspect about Budokai 3's Cell is his energy shield; your opponent just can't get away from it!
If you tap X to dodge an attack, you can then use the energy shield (with the enemy totally vulnerable). This is excellent for the finishing blow (if you're too chicken to fight man-to-man.
) Trunks is also good (only to fight against), 'cause when you dodge his sword, it's a Matrix- style scene.

Cell's and no. 17's energy shields can be the best move in Budokai 3 because they can not be teleport countered. Yes, I love dodging Dabura's and Trunks's sword attacks! I have only played Budokai 3 and Budokai Tenkaichi so I can only speak for those games when I list my favorite fighters.Steven Perry wrote:A good aspect about Budokai 3's Cell is his energy shield; your opponent just can't get away from it!If you tap X to dodge an attack, you can then use the energy shield (with the enemy totally vulnerable). It depends on what game I'm playing. I despised all of the Budokai's. So I'm usually playing older DBZ games. And these are the games that I actually enjoy playing.
Shin Butouden - SSJ3 Goku, SSJ Goku, Muten Roshi, Gogeta, Piccolo, Tien, SSJ Vegeta, SSJ Trunks
Legends - SSJ3 Goku, SSJ Vegito, SSJ Teen Gohan
Hyper Dimension - SSJ Goku, SSJ Vegeta, Piccolo, Cell
Super Butouden 2 - SSJ Gohan, SSJ Goku, SSJ Vegeta, Broly, SSJ Trunks
Super Butouden 3 - SSJ Goku, Cyborg #18, Fat Buu, SSJ Goten
So....I guess Goku is my favorite.

In the SNES games and 1 Genesis game, I was mostly 18. Cept, of course, for SB2 and HD. Used Zangya or Brolly mostly in SB2 and Kid Buu or Gotenks in HD. But those are entirely bassed on character likes. Can't base it on gameplay as they all play the same to me. :/
Budokai 1 - Trunks, Android 18, and Vegeta were my main characters to use with Zarbon not far behind.
Budokai 2 - Android 18, Videl, Future Trunks, and Goku.
Budokai 3 - Android 18, Videl, Vegeta, Bardock
BT - Android 18, Videl, Bardock, Chaotzu, and Tao.
Hmm. Anyone notice a trend up there? XD
It's one reason I'm hoping BT2 has a number of new females. I like playing as female characters in fighting games and being stuck with just the two is kind of boring. Though, with so many movie characters appearing this time around, there's hope that Zangya will make a return to video games.

<Kaboom> I'm just glad that he now sounds more like Invader Zim than Rita Repulsa
<Xyex> Original Freeza never sounded like a chick to me.
<Kaboom> Neither does Rita
<Xyex> Good point.

No.18 has one of my favorite ultimate moves in budokai 3. I am glad her and no.17 are returning in Super DBZ because I always liked the artifical human arc (Plus they are both some damn sexy!)Xyex wrote:In the SNES games and 1 Genesis game, I was mostly 18. Ultimate Battle 22: Gogeta (though the opening animation merges him by way of the Potaras, while he's also called "Vegito"). His Instant Transmission kicks ass beyond reason, plus he's just an incredible fused SOB that seems to have the most advantages in battle. "I am neither Goku nor Vegeta, so what do you get when you add a Vegeta to a Kakarrot? I wish the producers on Ultimate Battle 22 knew!"
GT Final Bout: Pan, basically because she's the easiest person to use for a cheap victory. Also, this is her only game so far.
Budokai: Vegeta, basically because getting to use his SSJ level at a decent power gauge (while also being able to pull off 2 super finishes) sways my decision here. Also, his alternate costume in Duel mode is that "Earthling" get-up he had just before the 28th Tenkaichi Budokai.
Budokai 2: Hands down; Teen Gohan. His super finish was, in my opinion, the best move in that game. He was one of the very few small guys in that game that had a huge chunk of power without having to fuse. He moved awesomely, and I just loved using him the best. I wish Dragon World wouldn't have excluded him.
Budokai 3: No doubt about it, my favorite has to be Kid Goku. His power-pole combos kick ass like nothing before it, he can charge and teleport just as swiftly as anyone else, and his Jinken attacks are fun as hell to pull off when a person's out of energy (JINKEN Rock, rock, rock!! XD). His super finish, the original Super Dragon Fist, is an unbelievably fangasmic move. Kid Goku's only flaw would have to be that he can't shoot multiple blasts, which isn't too much a problem for me.
Sagas: Mirai Gohan. Using a Gohan that never existed in the present timeframe of the show, one that all other DBZ games seem to have a problem incorporating, is just pretty damn fun. I love playing him out with one arm, though his power could've been amped up some more in Pendulum Room. :/
Budokai Tenkaichi/Sparking!: In this case, it is a tie: Between Master Tao and Roshi. When I actually find myself playing the game outside its story mode, playing as Roshi or Tao just brings the biggest smile to my face. Both are old-schoolers from original DB, and each actually got complimentary combos to an already repetitive move range. I would've loved to seen Roshi get Mafuba, though.
Shin Budokai: While I don't own this game or a PsP, I did get the opportunity to play a few hours worth of it not too long ago. My favorite character in that game: Pikkon! I absolutely love his move range, but mainly he's my favorite because no other DBZ game has had him. I think Shin Budokai served him justice.
