Was it immoral to kill Cell?

Post by Kid Buu » Sun Aug 25, 2013 5:49 pm

Cell technically didn't do anything wrong, and it was already established that Gero's creations in Goku's timeline were not as evil as they were in other timelines. Therefore do you think it was politically incorrect to have killed Cell?

Cell killed all the residence of Ginger town and blew up parts of the Earth. He had no problem destroying earth as well. It was definitely not immoral to kill him.

No he didn't, Cell was shown not killing anyone in the manga.

He bio absorbed everyone in Ginger Town. That is killing them. He destroyed islands with people on them, and he was going to blow up earth.

Don't forget all the military guys who attacked him at the arena (prompting Goku to go get Dende from New Namek).

They provoked him, and that's an entirely different character.

Are you kidding me. He didn't have to kill any of them. He threatened to destroy earth and killed EVERYONE in ginger town. He absorbed them all. He then went on to absorb more people so he could surpass Piccolo and the Cyborgs.

He provoked them by saying he was gonna blow up the planet if no one could stop him.

As I previously said, you're thinking of a different character here.

He slaughtered them after they realized they couldn't even scratch him and ran scared. He could have just let them go and not killed anyone like Goku asked of him, but he demolished the entire squad.

Are you talking about the baby Cell that Trunks killed in Gero's lab? In that case, still should have blasted him. The Jinzoningen in the main timeline weren't as evil because Goku wasn't dead and their little game wasn't over. They hadn't grown bored yet. Had all the heroes managed to die again, I can almost promise you that they would have turned out the same as in Trunks' timeline; with them blowing things up and killing people to find ways to amuse themselves. Cell too, after he'd have absorbed them and gotten bored of having no challenges.

Yes, as mentioned in the first post, I was talking about Gero's creations in Goku's timeline. The one that Gohan killed was from the Future.

Well now that I understand the situation I say HELL NO. He was programmed to kill everyone and probably still would have. Every version of Cell we have seen would have done it. They are all programmed to absorb the Cyborgs. The Cyborgs probably weren't as bad because Goku was still alive. In the Future they destroy to probably fill the void that there primary mission was ended before they could even attempt it.

Cell killed many innocent people just to get stronger, Piccolo stated that, semi cell killed many people just to find 18 and cell could have destroyed the earth without a second thought

He's talking about the Cell that Trunks and Krillin kill.

Cell was very evil. He absorb people to become stronger and threaten to destroy the whole Earth. He didn't care about anything other then himself.

Why would it be immoral to destroy an artificially created being? That's like saying that it was immoral for the original timeline's Trunks to disable the androids before waiting for them to commit crimes.

Of course. Gohan should've gotten busted for committing genocide at the Cell Games, and Trunks should've gotten busted for murdering a baby.

Present Cell didn't do anything wrong; shouldn't the same logic for not killing Gero apply here? If anything, Cell should be a stronger case, since Gero actually DID commit crimes, unlike Cell.

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke
Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Well...think of of it this way. The present is the past and the future is the present and the future future is the future. So Cell got what he deserved  .

Serious: Yes. Had Cell been born he would search for 17 and 18 just like he did in the "Future". Once he does that(Since it'll be 23 years later once he's born) he'll just take Bulma time machine most likely that we all know she;s going to build. Even before that h'll eat some people in some random ass town.
