All Rage Boost Moments in DB-DBZ(Not mentioned)

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

All Rage Boost Moments in DB-DBZ(Not mentioned)

Post by TheGmGoken » Thu Aug 29, 2013 6:33 pm

What I mean by not mentioned? I mean it wasn't mentioned by the series but it still happen and was only not mention cause it was too weak the make a difference. Only 1 I can think of and I'll use that as an example.

Krillin vs Cell. I honestly think Krillin got a rage boast. when Cell ate 18 and he went to attack Perfect Cell. But his ki was so weak that it didn't matter

Nobody but Gohan & Boo got rage boosts in the original series.

Even if it's just a little like a 0.000000000000000000000000000001 increase. I find it hard to believe Gohan is the only one influenced by angry power

Personally, I think Goku got one when he killed Daimao.

No one gets them except Gohan and Buu.

Buuhan got one in the anime when he started tearing the universe down.

Everyone probably gets slightly stronger in moments of extreme anger, but I figure you have to be at least somewhat unstable in some way to get MAJOR rage boosts that increase your ki levels by massive amounts, like what we saw all the time from Gohan.

Kids are in general MUCH less emotionally stable than adults. Gohan especially so, since he's been fighting since he was 4, was right there for his dad's (first) death, got sent away into the wilderness to train alone for a year shortly afterward, and barely saw either of his own parents during most of his "when my earliest clear memories are formed" years (when he was 5-7 years old.) Fat Buu is like that, too--he's very much like a little kid (killing things weaker than himself and causing random destruction because he thinks it's fun and he doesn't know any better, rather than because he actually hates the people he's killing or anything), and when he gets pissed off his power actually goes up..

For anyone else besides kids (especially more-unstable-than-normal kids) and things like Buu, they would be extremely rare if they happen at all, and most of the time they'd just be smaller "boosts" that come along with ordinary anger... something would have to push them pretty hard and make them temporarily unstable for a "real" rage boost like Gohan's or Fat Buu's. Bulma getting hurt and triggering Vegeta's brief boost in Battle of Gods could work. You could probably count the part of the anime where Super Buu had an angry outburst that caused dimensional disturbances that could've collapsed the boundaries and screwed things all to hell, too--normally Super Buu is more stable than Fat Buu was (especially after absorbing guys like Piccolo), but getting kicked around THAT effortlessly was just too much for him, I guess. As for Gohan at the Budokai, I guess he just hadn't known Videl long enough to pull off a full-strength raging SSj2 boost (like against Cell 7 years earlier) while watching her get beaten up by Spopovich... but if the same thing had happened at the Budokai where Uub is introduced, after he and Videl had been married for years and had a daughter together, things might be a little different (...well, at least if Gohan's "ultimate"/"mystic" form hadn't already drawn out all of the dormant power that his rage had previously been drawing on, anyway.)

And speaking of Gohan... I wonder if his increasingly-more-impressive rage outbursts were his way of gradually building up to Super Saiyan, kind of like how Goku's and Vegeta's increasingly-more-ridiculous near-death boosts seem to have been. Is it ever mentioned whether or not Gohan got near-death boosts like the other Saiyans, aside from the time when it's brought up in the Super Buu battles (when Dende heals him and Buu notices that his power hasn't gone up any despite the Saiyan ability to get stronger?)

Also...
rage boast
...the word is "boost." A "rage boast" would be like... Broly angrily bragging about how angry and violent he is, or something.

For the first Bold point read this:
Even if it's just a little like a 0.000000000000000000000000000001 increase.
For the second bold point: I use differ words for the actual words. I use boast not boost as it's easier to pronounced and if you heard me speak the way I say boast is similar to boost. I make my own definitions to be honest.

 Why? He did not know he could reach that power by normal circumstances. None of the others could give the power he needed to defeat Slug and to access to that power, he got a rage boost.

Vegeta might have acquired one when Cell killed Trunks.

Transformations are not rage boosts.

And Piccolo gave him the power needed to one-shot Slug, who was stronger than SS Goku.

Before Goku transforms in to false Super Saiyan.

You need rage to reach SS (unless you're Goten, apparently). That's not the same thing as a rage boost. Gohan got a rage boost and a transformation; Goku only got the transformation.

No, Slug was said to be stronger than Super Saiyan Goku after the transformation.

In the manga/anime, Gohan got rage boosts many times, as we all know.
In Battle of Gods, SS2 Vegeta got a rage boost once.
In the 10th Anniversary, Goku got a rage boost once.

Wait so whenever a character acts out of anger and/or desperation its considered a rage boost? Nah thats mostly a kid Gohan thing if you ask me and after mellowing out Vegeta got a small one too in BoG.
