Also, I did not come up with my names just because they sounded cool. I got "Warlord Fist" off of World King/Lord Fist (Kaio-Ken's translation), but in all honesty, "World Lord Fist" sounds odd. "Warlord Fist" sounded more appropriate as it relates more to battle and is more accessible. "Sparking Bullet" was off of Spinning Ki Bullet (Sokidan's translation), but I thought Spinning Ki Bullet sounded too simple. "Sparking Bullet" sounds sufficiently more complex and still fits with its attack. I came up with "pure" Gohan for what people consider to be Gohan's "ultimate" form as when Gohan uses that form, he's not hiding any of his power. In a way, it's the "true" and completely unadulterated Gohan, so "pure" fits. "Super Great Ape" fits Golden Great Ape as that form is very similar to the Super Saiyan form.
The way you just explained yourself actually makes your terms sound much less absurd. They sound just as viable as Kaboom's when you present it like that - sure, there's parts I don't quite agree with but that's the level of detail I think is really needed when talking about a subject like this. Prior to that, the way it was presented just reeked of 'I like these because they're cool'.

Yes, two pages in.Dr. Machismo wrote:

Prior to that, all that was said was:
'sounds so much better'
'sounds cooler'
'is a better term for'
...and then a small portion about Funi-dub titles.
That tells me jack shit about your decision making and makes the thread seem like it's based on nothing.
Anyway, we killed this topic and this is just veering off into nonsense so I'll leave it at that.

Re: Do you come up with your own names to call stuff from se
As far as I'm concerned, I almost exclusively use names that are official in some capacity, often transcripting/converting from the final French manga translation now being published through the Kanzenban (includes the Movie Anime Comics by the same translator), or the previous "90% final translation" which the Kanzenban are based on despite having 10% of it updated/corrected.
If they're not available yet (upcoming Movie Comics for example), I'll use any term that is generally viewed as valid by the community here and that I see around and end up naturally using.
Regarding terms I come up with, the only one I can think of right now is that I prefer "Incomplete Super Saiyan" or "Unachieved Super Saiyan" to "False Super Saiyan", simply because I consider the transformation is not "false" but only "incomplete". I understand that the word "false" may be used to convey that meaning, but the ambiguity just rubs me the wrong way. Some new fan would not necessarily understand what that state is if you just say "False Super Saiyan", but something in the line of "Incomplete/Unachieved Super Saiyan" is self-explanatory and I think it covers it all and you don't have to explain anything beyond the name itself (in-universe explanation of course, because the out-of-universe initial plan was not to have any "incomplete" form as far as I remember, it was supposed to be the real Super Saiyan form).
But it is something I use as my own personnal way to express myself, not something I expect anyone to use since apart from blatant inventions like "Sangoku", "Little Heart", the H-word or that famous math guy thought to be Goku's twin, any version of the various names won't rub me the wrong way.

"Fist of the King (or Lord) of World's," is a much closer adaptation than "Warlord Fist," and IMO, sounds much better while preserving the meaning behind the name. Kaio isn't a warlord.Dr. Machismo wrote:If so, state them.
Yeah, I like to call the Kaio-Ken "Warlord Fist" (the translated name is "World King Fist", but I think "Warlord Fist" sounds so much better) and Gohan's Ultimate form his "pure" form. Spirit Ball sounds cooler as "Sparking Bullet" too. And "Super Great Ape" is a better term for Golden Great Ape.

Well according to definition. A warlord is a person with power who has both military and civil, control over a subnational area due to armed forces loyal to the warlord and not to a central authority. The term can also mean one who espouses the ideal that war is necessary, and has the means and authority to engage in war. Today, the word has a strong connotation that the person exercises far more power than his official title or rank legitimately permits. So I don't think WarLord fits to who ever made this thread."Fist of the King (or Lord) of World's," is a much closer adaptation than "Warlord Fist," and IMO, sounds much better while preserving the meaning behind the name. Kaio isn't a warlord.

I don't see why King Kai has to be a warlord for the attack to be "Warlord Fist".
I actually think it would be better if Goku never said Kaio-ken when using it. He should just say what he's multiplying his strength by

Actually, King Kai does fit the definition of a warlord. A warlord is a being with both military and civil control over a subnational area. King Kai is the leader of the South universe, so that could be considered his subnational area. King Kai could also be considered a military commander, as his disciples could be considered his soldiers. And it's possible that King Kai has participated in wars. The conflict with the Bojack could be considered a war.

Kaio is not a military or civil leader. He doesn't "rule" anything, he just watches over his portion of the universe, which is the North Galaxy, not the South. His students are not soldiers; they are not part of any military hierarchy, and they have not been part of any wars.Dr. Machismo wrote:Actually, King Kai does fit the definition of a warlord. King Kai is the lord of worlds, so yes, he is a ruler. His students can be considered soldiers as they're fighters, which is synonymous with soldier. You don't have to be part of a military hierarchy to be a soldier, and the conflicts against the Saiyans, Frieza, Cell and Majin Buu can be considered wars.Kamiccolo9 wrote:Kaio is not a military or civil leader. And no, those are not wars.
And being a lord just means he has authority. Look at the House of Lords in Britain. They don't rule anything. Show me a statement of Kaio actually ruling something.

Soldiers (at least the ones that participate in battle) are fighters. That does not make all fighters soldiers. I don't see how you seem to be unable to make that distinction.Dr. Machismo wrote:A fighter is very similar to a soldier in many ways. They're synonymous. The Z Fighters could be considered an army. The fights with Freeza, Cell, and Buu are not wars. They are brawls. With the incredibly wrong logic you seem to be using, I could start a war by going down the street and punching a guy who is a different ethnicity than me.
Just like there is a difference between a soldier and a fighter, there is a difference between a fight and a war. If you fail to recognize this, then I am not going to bother wasting my time here, like I seem to do with the vast majority of your posts.

Cool. Kanzenshuu's purpose is enlightening people about Dragon Ball. Since we all agreed to do so when joining, or enlisting, I guess that makes us all soldiers for that cause. And since we are arguing now, I guess we are at war, huh? After all, we are arming ourselves with various definitions and arguments.
